This is the 12th iteration, so most of you probably have an idea of what goes on here, but if you are new to the site or this corner of the forums, here's the previous edition of the thread KYC 11. Those of you that participated in or followed the previous events, know by now that Hemiak won't be running this event for a while due to life being busy. He agreed that I'd take over in the meanwhile, so you're stuck with me for the foreseeable future. The Premise Participants will each choose a list of at least 5, and up to 10 0% games (or any number in.between) from their backlog and post them here so everyone can follow along. These games don't have to be pre loaded on your profile, as long as you own them already and haven't earned a trophy they count. Participants will start a new game from that list every few days for the next month. They WILL then post their thoughts on each game, and write a short review on the final day for each game. This can take any shape or form each person desires. I would prefer people do 5 games for 6 days each, 10/3, but anything between would be acceptable. I would like if people could be a little more prompt with their reviews. I understand stuff comes up. However, if every single review is three games rolled into one, 4 days late, you're not trying very hard. I also like to see people get the minimum 3 hours per game, so I feel like more than 10 games would be cutting each one too short, The starting time is hwnever the 1st of March begins for you. A complete and utter dis-regard for your completion rate (for the next month)How to Join Say you want in Post your list of the games YOU ALREADY OWN that you haven't started. Post your completion percent for S&G.Game Selection Suggestions These are just suggestions, this will have no bearing on you being added to the event. These are just things that I think make for a more interesting selection of games overall.- Variety is The Spice...: Try to avoid having more than 1 or 2 of the same type of game on there.- Try Something New or Different - A list filled with AAA games/remasters that you've already played, from only two different series, is boring.- Don't choose all games that all have average completion times under 10 hours: You're not fooling anybody. Sneaky participant is not sneaky. TL;DR Spoiler final day of sign ups will be the 1st of March (2020) the event begins whenever the 1st of March begins in your timezone pick 5 - 10 games that are at 0% and play them during the respective amount of days (examples: 5 games/6days each ; 10 games/3 days each). Games have to be a 0%, no exceptions. don't pick only short and easy games, that's not the point of this even. post your list of games do yourself a favour and install/preload your games on the system. Less time wasted for patches to download, etc each game should be played for at least 3 hours total, throughout the X number of days allocated to them (equal number of days for each game) write a review/impression/thoughts on the game you played, before moving on to the next one (final review is mandatory, regular updates are optional) If you don't want to miss the start of the event, follow the thread. Don't have a for sure list yet, but I'm going to do 6 games for 5 days each so I can do two for each console. Definitely going to do 1 UR plat per console, so probably Tales of Symphonia on PS3 and MeiQ on Vita. Not sure what UR I'm going to do for PS4 though. I have a list of my 0%s on the about me in my profile if anyone wants to give suggestions for stuff they'd like to hear my views on since that may help me decide on especially the PS4 ones. It's cross buy so it's both on PS4 and Vita), I just finished that one and therefore it would be nice to hear what someone else's impressions are on the game.. Dark Cloud would be an interesting read as well I think That being said, whatever you feel like giving a try will be just fine. There is a lot of games on that list that would be a good read. I'm also going with 6 games/5 days, because 3 RPGs are part of the list. I want to have a few days to get further into them, to be able to form a more accurate opinion on those. Tentative list is the following: Flatout 4 (1st-5th) Secret of Mana (5th-10th) Dead Rising 4 (11th-15th) Toukiden 2 (16th-20th) Darkwood (21st-25th) Moonlighter (26th-30th) I might end up switching 1 or 2 of the games, but the first 4 are pretty much set in stone. This is basically gonna be me starting a handful of my Black Friday purchases (besides Touhou, which I said I'd play in this one), which is what I wanted to focus on this year. It's not going extremely well, as I've only played 3 out of the dozen I bought back then. Lol. But that's about to change! Unless you really liove one genre in particular, chances are you'll get burned out by it. Pcik the number of games in accordance to how busy your schedule will be that month. If you got a lot going on pick just a handful, or the full monty of 10, if you have the required time to put into each of the games. As far as suggestions of the games go, Watch Dogs 2, Bloodborne and Hitman were a lot of fun for me personally. You could always put those games into a randomizer and let it pick 5-10 for you. Probably won't be a good idea for me to do anything where I've got the plat on another version. I actually have plats for the Vita version of Cosmic Star Heroine and Virtue's Last Reward (I also have played 999). Definitely won't be able to give a fresh perspective on those. Appreciate the suggestions though and will definitely have to consider some. Dark Rose Valkyrie also is a UR and I'd love to do 3 URs as well since I've focused so much on shorter games lately and have a long of meaty titles in my backlog. Medievil Layers of Fear Persona 4 Golden The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince Record of Agarest War The Evil Within Baldur's Gate Zombie Tycoon II Dragon's Crown Infamous: First Light The last few months have been pretty rough for my gaming with a bunch of binging and then dead time. So, I'm going to work on the 3 day cycle but if I manage to get some good gaming time on one title, then I might start another title early before heading into a slower-looking time so that I can keep up with the 3-hr min playtime. I've got a few longer titles here but some I got for Christmas and others I've wanted to get around to for a while now. But, the backlog is outrageous now & I really enjoyed reading everyone’s thoughts last year. This time I’d like to try for the ambitious 10/3 ratio, with an initial & final review per game. I avoid spoilers like the plague, so I know very little about what to expect from this expansion. {PS4} Borderlands 3: similar to my first choice, Borderlands is another great series I’m looking forward to jumping back into. & I’m starting out with the two biggest ones just because I’d hate to wait any longer. {PSV} Drive Girls: So, this game has actually been sitting in my Vita’s carrying case for a few months now. I threw it in one day to start & just couldn’t bring myself to do it. {PS4} The Evil Within 2: Back to the nightmare animus. Expect an angry rant as I’m a masochist when it comes to the horror genre. {PSV} Bad Apple Wars: Yes, an easy game. I like VNs though & plan to start this one after the stressful Evil Within 2. {PS4} Spider-man: I got this one for Christmas, & ever since I’ve been wanting to start it. The PS4 though has been saying a firm ‘no’ with a few GB of free space. It’s inevitable I’ll be deleting some games as I go along this time. No worries, most of these are disc version so time won’t be that big of an issue. Plus, I’ve still got about a week to clear out what I can from my system (up to 49 GB of free space right now). {PSV} Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky: Doubt anyone would remember, but I had this one on my first KYC list & ended up swapping it out last minute for a VN. It’s not getting passed up this go round. {PSV} Danganropa: Trigger Happy Havoc: Late to the party should be my screen name. No, I’ve never played or watched anything from this series. Tales of Symphonia (PS3) 2. MeiQ (Vita) 3. Dark Rose Valkyrie (PS4) 4. Nier (PS3) 5. Stranger of Sword City (Vita) 6. The Alliance Alive HD Remastered (PS4) May swap Stranger of Sword City for Corpse Party if I can finish the first Corpse Party game on PC in time, but on Vita I'm pretty lacking in games in general due to being pretty good about finishing those games up (all my incomplete ones are really hard or have very time consuming trophies left). The Alliance Alive HD Remastered is really tempting since that's supposed to be by the same folks that made Suikoden and I loved that series. Pretty much 4-6 are still a bit up in the air and open to change but for a second PS3, Nier seems to be the best fit since it's the most interesting sounding game that doesn't have DLC required for the 100%.
