Is there a trick to Sol 2 that I am missing?

I have struggled with this track and have been at the Speedfreak Sol 2 Time Trial on Rapier speed for a few hours now. My best is 1.39.77 and the gold time is 1.38.50. I don't see how it's possible to shave off the missing time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Well it's obviously very possible. I know there are certain spots where sideshifting shaves off those precious milliseconds. You also need to be squeezing in a barrel roll. Not sure how your laps look like or what your racing line is, but practicing different attempts at corners and where to sideshift helps.

Is Sol 2 the one where the track is missing side barriers most places? if so, i had the exact same thought way back when i platted the game. Keep perfecting your racing lines and for the love of god squeeze in barrel rolls. It will come eventually

I have also been struggling with this exact same Time Trial on Sol 2.

 

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm going to have to give this a go.
