Popular Post StraightVege
A full Challenge run—this mode is an unfun, cluster**** of a mess! It is vital to play very methodically, gradually inching forward while eliminating as many enemies as possible. Attempting to rush through this will result in failure every time. The Fire-Ice and Lightning potions will be your best tools here, along with charge shots to destroy off-screen monsters (abuse this!). Do not fall down into the lower world, or you're almost certainly finished, since all the enemies there will activate and begin bouncing everywhere, making for unplayable conditions. After the very difficult second section, things become much easier until the end, with plenty of health items and checkpoints. You'll also earn a couple of extra lives by defeating the enemies. It gets tough again towards the finish, however, so remain cautious. A near-perfect run of Boss Rush (got hit once). This one requires a ton of practice, and some good luck. You'll need to learn the bosses thoroughly to survive, and bad boss RNG can really screw you. Use charge shots as much as possible to speed the fights up (they deal two bars of damage). Keep in mind that on-screen boss attacks can still hurt you even after the boss is defeated, and since the game slows down on the final hit for dramatic effect, dodging them becomes more difficult. This can be a real problem with Dh'raza in particular, because her final attacks can knock you into the pits on either side. Terrible design! 0:06 - Prius 1 0:29 - Arcadio 1:02 - Firhaz 1:47 - Door Guardians 2:40 - Dh'raza 3:48 - Prius 2 4:49 - Lord Baduk 6:15 - Super Baduk You must complete the game in under 35 minutes. As you can see, I made plenty of mistakes during this run—screwed up a bunch early on, played it way too safe in stage 5, and had bad luck on Prius 2—yet, I still came in well under the par time for the trophy, so it's very doable. This should also serve to show an okay route through the game, in general. There's actually an upside-down area in stage 5 (vertical shaft with many worms - seen at 20:45 in this video) where a worm will eventually eat through the wall on the right, opening a nice shortcut to the final castle. I'm not sure what exactly triggers this, but it might be worth waiting around for, instead of climbing all the platforms with spikes and enemies. If you complete the game without continuing, as I did here, you'll also earn the "FIN!" trophy. Not too hard with practice, but if you're having trouble, then check out the prison cells in the starting level—the last cell on the left has a false wall you can jump through, which leads to a ton of extra lives! A-Team Member (Complete the game killing no enemies at all): Apparently, the devs thought it was a good idea include a trophy which requires intentionally taking damage and losing lives/continues, to force your way past hundreds of enemies. There's often no choice but to take hits if you want to progress, so turn your character away from the enemies, that way the knockback will send you through them and in the direction you intended to go. "Damage boosting" through the enemies like this is also extremely useful in the speedrun. Your only goal is to make it to the next checkpoint without killing enemies, so don't worry about dying. In stage 3 (snowy level), you will need to find the NPC who grants you temporary invulnerability, then run to the right before it wears off, directly to the boss. This is necessary to get past the many flying flame enemies, that will otherwise explode themselves on you. The location can be seen in my speedrun video above. In stage 4 (maze), if you allow the flaming zombies to burn to death on screen, it will count against you! You must freeze them with the Fire-Ice potion before this happens, by bouncing it off the floor. You should only encounter a few of these, fortunately. In stage 5 (dark tunnels), there's an upside-down area (vertical shaft with many worms - seen at 20:45 in the speedrun video) where a worm will eventually eat through the wall on the right, opening a nice shortcut to the final castle. I'm not sure what exactly triggers this, but it might be worth waiting around for, instead of climbing all the platforms with spikes and enemies. If not, you will have to damage boost your way up like I did, and it's a real pain. Be sure to turn on the completionist option first, so you can track kills in the pause menu, and check it frequently to make sure you didn't screw up. I recommend exiting to the title menu periodically, to back-up your save game (you can just copy it to another slot). The game auto-saves at every checkpoint, and seems to immediately save any enemies you kill, so it's important to have a back-up, especially in stage 4. Also, two bosses—Firhaz and Prius—are capable of summoning enemies. I'm not sure if killing them counts against you, but I suggest just backing out to the title menu if this happens, so you can retry the fight with better RNG. I found they rarely use the summon, anyway. MASTER COLLECTOR/You Talking To Me? (Complete the game finding all secret characters, secret items and gems/kill all the enemies): These two trophies should be combined into the same playthrough. I highly recommend Evil Alucard's playlist for this - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7Iy63l461qWs9OQFm0jFvEyYeJrF9gj6 This can be a nightmare, because you can easily miss an enemy or gem, and be unable to go back for them, which necessitates starting yet another playthrough. Unlike with the pacifist trophy, exiting out to backup your save is bad idea, since it can glitch the killed enemy count and NPC progression (buggy game!), so this really needs to be done in a continuous run. If you do miss something in an area you can't backtrack to, DON'T touch the next checkpoint yet! Intentionally lose all your lives, and you'll be sent back to the previous one, giving you another chance to collect/kill. In stage 3 (snowy level), there's a easily missable gem in the underground area. If you fall down before grabbing it, you'll have to kill yourself to go back, as I explained above. In stage 4 (maze), a few elusive enemies can often become stuck in the ceiling tunnels/niches at the upper-left section. Very frustrating, but you can eventually kill them if you're thorough enough with Lightning potions, as seen in Evil Alucard's video. In stage 5 (dark tunnels), watch out for the final gem! It hangs precariously over the drop into the final castle. If you miss it and fall down, there's no going back, and you'll have to start a whole new playthrough. If you do miss, try to fall into the shortcut tunnel below instead, so you can retrace your steps and try again. A real asshole move by the devs! I noticed there was no information on this game, so I hope these videos and tips are helpful for players who want to tackle this ultra rare platinum. If anyone has questions, just ask! I know the game pretty well by now, and should be able to offer advice. Edited February 26, 2020 by ScarecrowsFate
visighost
I was scared of starting this game - I'm sure this will help tremendously! Thanks so much for taking the time!
Lothym
Thanks so much for sharing your wise knowledge. Hopefully, your post should be enough to tackle it. I'm eager to give this game a go now! EDIT: Nailed it, thanks for the help. Good game overall, but it is really ungrateful to completionists. Haven't redone so much collectible runs due to bugs since Munch Odyssey... + Whenever I would die fighting super Baduk, the game would loop with me dying before spawning. So, no way to train fighting that final boss plus a good chance to stupidly ruin a 100% run. + Also, all games I would start on save slot 2 would have a NPC on level 4 freeze and not counting, ruining any 100% run attempt on that file. EmperorZetta
Working through this glitchy nightmare right now. Few things I'd like to add: at the very start of Stage 4, when you drop down the pit, hold left! Very missable gem (you can get game over and start back to get it, at least). if you die at a boss, the monsters in the stage will respawn but your kill count will be the same as when you died. This is a glitch that will not get you the trophy. You have to actually kill every single monster in each stage at least once. Watch the Evil Alucard videos, he pauses to show his stats at checkpoints if you're not sure. watch a video of the Super Baduk fight before attempting it. You only get one shot at it since the fight glitches out if you die. EDIT: And it's done, thank god. Tried my hardest to get a save file glitched out to where it erased all of my kills so I didn't have to slog through that pacifist trophy, but no luck. I have no idea what went wrong with this game during development, but I think I'm gonna take a break from downloading random indie games on PSN. Dzmo2
Vita version is another nightmare… 1、How to get the final gem?the 100th gem in the last scene. I have no idea to make it appear. 2、On vita the number of enermy in stage 4&5 is less than any other version… IT seems impossible to kill all enermies as the recommend number. Sigh…How can I get the last 2 trophy?
StraightVege
@Dzmo2 Wish that I could help you, but I haven't played the Vita version, and wasn't aware there were differences. Maybe someone else on here is familiar with it, and can answer your questions? You could try messaging the few people who've completed that version, found here. Best of luck!
