Alien Isolation, Until Dawn, Dying Light, SOMA, Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2 Redone, Days Gone, Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, and more.

I wouldn't count half of these games as Survival Horror. Especially TWD. The genre has its set of rules and features. Horror theme is just one of them, and doesn't automatically make a game Survival Horror.

That canceled PT game from Konami just showed how little they cared. Nowadays they're basically making slot machines for old farts spending what little retirement money they have left in their bank accounts.

Apparently, the new guy who took Kojima's spot in Konami (Hideki Hayakawa) was big into mobile games. His first title blew up and made as much money as a Metal Gear game with much smaller budget. Konami's higher-ups looked at it, than looked at Kojima who kept asking for money and was very cocky at that time (there's a rumour that he talked shit about Hayakawa) and decided to fire him. Also, I've heard that Konami's bosses don't even know much about games. So yeah, it was all about the money.

I honestly don't see it because Jim Ryan hates anything Japanese from the looks of things. I honestly can't remember the last SIE Japanese game after Gravity Rush 2.

Gran Turismo Sport.

And Gran Turismo 7 should be coming as well. I think with Silent Hills, there is supposed to be a soft reboot which is being worked on by SIE Japan.

Also him being antagonistic to Japanese games just doesn’t make sense. FF7 Remake became the fastest selling PS4 ‘exclusive’ game. I know the Censorship policy targets the Japanese titles disproportionately but did Jim Ryan have a say in that policy because it cane under the previous CEO right?

Square Enix and Final  Fantasy VII are  mainstream, even casual gamers know of the series. I simply claimed the Ryan "seems" to be apprehensive towards anything Japanese, but then again, Ryan is apprehensive towards anything that isn't mainstream. The censorship policy wasn't from Ryan, it's from another department of SIE but he signed off on it.

Horror is the main genre while survival horror is the sub-genre; they're closely related. If the main can do fine, then the sub can as well, which the aforementioned games evidently prove. Now, less than half of the games aren't traditional survival horror games but have elements of them, including especially the latest season of TWD, while the majority are actually survival horror.

My bad, I thought you listed survival horror games in that reply, but your post clearly just says horror.

Rumour: Metal Gear Solid Is Getting a Full Remake, and It's a PS5 Console Exclusive

Here's a doozy of a rumour for you: Metal Gear Solid (the PS1 classic) is being remade (again) and it's coming to PS5 and PC. This is according to YouTube channel RedGamingTech,

which has been known to provide some accurate leaks in the past, although they specialise in hardware information rather than software.

Still, according to their source — a source that apparently has a 100 per cent track record up to this point — this supposed Metal Gear Solid revival is a full remake, not just some kind of port or remaster.

The source also states that Metal Gear Solid 2, 3, and 4 are all being re-released, but it sounds like they're set to be remasters rather than full remakes. It's unclear whether they're coming to PS5 as well, or whether they're just targeting PC.

We don't know how far into development the Metal Gear Solid remake is, but its rumoured existence does tie into reports that we've heard elsewhere. For starters, we know that Sony has been flashing its cash to third party publishers in order to lock down exclusive PS5 deals — Final Fantasy XVI is a perfect example of this. A remake of Metal Gear Solid — arguably the most beloved instalment in a series synonymous with PlayStation — certainly fits the bill when you consider that Sony dished out serious dosh for timed exclusivity on a very similar project, namely Final Fantasy VII Remake.

But is Konami really going to pump money into crafting a full-blown remake of Metal Gear Solid? Without a doubt, stranger things have happened, but the Japanese publisher is something of an enigma these days, which makes it an easy starting point for all kinds of rumours. Remember Silent Hills on PS5? Heck, maybe that's happening as well, and Konami's really getting back into the swing of things.

Anyway, this is certainly one to keep an eye on.

If this does happen I want sony to not let kojima touch silent hill as he can't make a good horror game, that playable demo was a boring by the numbers run and am glad it never happen

Wow, I think many many many people would disagree, put you have the right to your opinion. You explain it very well, thanks for that.

I loved PT and it would have been so much fun to see what they would have done with it. And I loved Death Stranding as well, but I do get why many dont like that game. Its just not for everyone.

More Kojima please :)

Can't argue with this. P.T was a great teaser to what could have been, genuinely freaky. Would have loved to have seen the final product.

Thankfully, I still have the demo, so can jam it from time to time.
