Do I have to play the game from start to finish or can I mission select each mission?

Just Hit new game and do all the missions over again. If you die just hit restart mission. Just got it. Took about 2 and a half hours for a clear

Hey Guys, i wanted to explain the Immortal trophy clearly in a video as i felt it was the one people were having the most confusion with.

you can do mission select, just make sure if you die, you quit the mission and start it again from the beginning.

Can you do each chapter through Chapter Select? Or it does strictly need to be a "new playthrough" from start to finish, but restarting missions if required.

Thanks for this. I just finished the game on Veteran and was concerned I had to play the entire game without ever dying or restarting. I'm relieved.

No, chapter select should be fine, proving the game registers each mission as completed without dying.

Can you save and quit during missions, back up your save to the cloud and then relaunch the game?

Does the « restart mission » option work for this? Cause I died a few times used restart mission whenever I did and I didn’t get the trophy. Also do you need to do the museum? Does that count as a mission?

 

EDIT: Nvm I just got it somehow, I decided to try and redo the whole campaign without dying since I was pretty sure I already did all of them deathlessly and it popped after Cliffhanger (thankfully only 3 missions in). I think I died right at the end by crashing into a tree but just continued on with the other missions.

I passed all missions without dying and of course restarting from checkpoints, but the trophy didn't pop up, what should I do?

I just did it and didn't have any problems with it unlocking. Is it possible you accidentally reloaded a checkpoint?

You can't restart from checkpoints, if you die you have to start the mission over.

So I've gotten the platinum in about a day and figured out so things that need to be addressed and give you tips on how to past missions quickly without sacrificing too much time. 

 

- You DO NOT have to do 'No Russian' to obtain the "Immortal" trophy.

- You CAN hit Restart Mission as soon as you die. You don't have to Mission Select everytime you fail.

- A lot of these missions can be completed within a matter of minutes by just speedrunning the level by quickly sprinting to the objective before your teammates get there. It's much faster to go on your own instead of waiting around for them to catch up because they can spawn near you when go far ahead in some missions. A lot of these combat sections can be easily skipped by just running through. Be a bit cautious on some sections because your not "Immortal" .

- ALWAYS go for the riot shield that's in missions 'The Gulag' and 'Just Like Old Times'.

- If you think your confident on your skills you can go for misc. trophies during your immortal runs to cut down time for the platinum.

 

That's about as much as I can think for the trophy itself. I know there are other threads about this, but I wanted my reasons to be shown off more. Anything else you want to add just pm the thread.

If I shoot a friendly by mistake but they don't die, does that have any impact on the trophy being unlocked?

Your reloading to a checkpoint so id say its the same impact as when you die. I just restart the missions whenever anything like this happens but only half way through getting this done atm

Alright, when your done could you tell me whether the trophy popped even if you shot a friendly on accident. When I mean shooting a friendly I mean when you shoot them once by mistake and they say "friendly fire" or something to that effect.

Unlocked this one without too many issues but wanted to second what others said above:

 

- Restarting the mission from the pause menu works if you die

- It's a great idea to keep track of which missions you have already completed without dying

- Chapter select / mission select works fine for this trophy, I selected all chapters manually from the title screen

- Friendly fire / mission failed conditions will invalidate runs for this trophy as it counts as failing a checkpoint so make sure you avoid failing a breach, rescuing hostages, etc.

- Don't toggle challenge modifiers mid-mission! This instantly invalidates your run for the chapter; I did this by accident on Takedown and had to replay the chapter

Why would you need to do this? 

 

You can die in a mission, quit to menu and then repay the mission from the start and still earn the trophy. doesn't matter which order the missions are completed in either.
