You're in luck mate. The new update has made it so you are no longer restricted by equipment points or slots. Still need to unlock cards but you should be better off now.

So instead of grinding exp you need to grind rp to unlock chests for skills. Level is irrelevant now except for a few unlocks.

So even though equipment points are now a handy me out now, still no good if you don't have the op skills to use them with.
