Popular Post Rune_Crys
URL for Stay Home #WITH ME Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBR8-60-B28hp2BmDPdntcQ For whoever sees this and wants to burn me at the stake: I am sorry, I know that people don't want to think about the Corona Virus and how it's ruining everyone's lives by quarantining them, how people lost their jobs because of the lock-down and whatnot, but we need to address the current world crisis. If we do not, someone might make it worse by not following the global demands and accidentally infecting or getting infected with the Corona Virus. I watched a video of a popular Youtuber who found he got the Virus because some idiot brought their Corona-infected kid to work and realized that we can't just stick our heads in the sand. I know I pissed off one person so if you are pissed off, you are free to stop reading this thread and not participate, I don't mind. Just don't post here and grief everyone who is trying to use this thread to have fun and work on their backlogs. We need to support each other during these Dark Ages and the best way is being kind and not rude. We must explain the situation in the world today and, when this threat is past, we can look back as this era as a piece of history and how we survived. Okay, enough preaching. I got the inspiration for this event from a Youtube channel called #STAYHOME (link to the intro video for the channel in the title) where people make videos telling viewers how they can enjoy a sedentary lifestyle which people are being to adopt due to the Corona Virus pandemic. Unless you have had your head in the sand like an ostrich for the past two months, you know how the US government has ordered everyone in business to stay home and not interact with people physically due to a deadly pandemic which has started claiming a lot of lives, usually old people and babies who cannot fight off the COVID-19 virus. This Youtube channel is encouraging people to STAY HOME and entertain yourself with home activities, with many categories involving various activities you can do, like clean your house, cook, watch a marathon of movies or garden. They also have a video game category but it's mostly the new Animal Crossing game that came out. So this event is going to try to get you to try new games and earn platinums in them, because let's face it, if you lurk on this forum, you are obviously interested in earning platinums and now you have all the time in the universe to do so. But to commemorate the people who made this channel, I want you guys to play games which revolve around the themes of the channel. So let's get to the rules! @Kristycism has created a Tracking Spreadsheet to help track the progress of participants which you are free to check out if you are on it. To be honest, I may make good lists but I am not good at spreadsheets so she is a life saver. @gruffiiti also agreed to help out so I think we don't need to worry about missing anyone who signed up. EDIT: I have lifted the hard cap number for people who want to join since Kristycism has made a spreadsheet, but I am closing sign-ups on May 1 when the event starts so if you want to be scored and rewarded with a shiny new badge for your siggie, you need to declare your intent to participate before then. However, you are free to unofficially participate and post progress on your games(but be aware that it will bloat the thread if you do so as I am encouraging official participants to post their progress too). I have also edited the scoring a bit to make it easier to understand. EDIT 2: I have moved Telltale games to the #WATCH category from the #READ category. However, if you do platinum a Telltale game for both READ and WATCH, they can't be different versions of the same game(you can't put the Vita version of The Walking Dead for READ and the PS4 version for WATCH) - both games have to be unique. EDIT 3: Changed the start-up date. EDIT 4: Made a rules exception for #GAME due to someone's request. Rules and Regulations: This event will start on April 24, 2020 and free editing of your list until May 1, sign-ups remaining open until May 15. You have plenty of times to swap out games if you feel you will get cold feet on the first game you picked, but on May 1 and afterwards, you lose points for every swap you make. (Save for the three free swaps, see below) If you want to participate, you will need to have a one-theme minimum(you must choose at least one theme and go with it). You do not have to have a game for every theme even after the event start, but it's encouraged you to try to get at least three themes and try for more. This event has a goal to get you to try new games, clear out your backlog or go back to a game that frustrated you and see if you can handle it now. I will say this much: This is not a competition or race and there is no set end date. The event ends when all of the participants who have signed up have completed their lists so if you want to keep the event going, try to grab as many themes as possible. In another take on the above subject, I am not going to say "lock and load" on April 24. Since there is no end date and new games might come out which suit you, there is no shame in leaving spots for themes blank. If you want to leave them blank until after the event starts, that is fine, but it will make a tiny bit more work for me and @Kristycism, who has offered to help me out with keeping track of all of your games(thanks for the help) if you don't decide on games after the start date, so keep that in mind. But if you are waiting for a game that got announced for Fall 2020, don't worry about it. You can leave that spot blank as long as you need to. While this event is meant to reference the current world situations, we have no idea how long this pandemic will last so I'll just reward people who complete the event and the Ultra Challenges and you can take as long as you want. If you feel like you are unable to continue participation(maybe due to being hospitalized for no reason or having to tend to leave the house for a vacation in the woods, away from people), then let me know and I will put you as D.N.F. Since this is my first time I did an event, I don't want to be bogged down by keeping track of too many people so I am imposing a hard cap of 24 participants. (I will participate too, it would be rude not to take part in your own event. ) If you want to participate, choose the games for the themes(you can just go with one theme if you don't have much time to play games but I encourage you to try as many as you can as you have plenty of time to complete the games) and list your games in a post here. I'll try to hammer together a spreadsheet with everyone's user-name and games list to keep track of your status before the event starts. (Or at least write them down in Notepad if need be. ) I'm only counting the platinums, not 100%, but you'll get special mention if you do all DLC trophies attached to a game since these are extra challenges, especially if the DLC trophies revolve around the theme you put the game in. (For example, a game which has a cooking element has DLC trophies for learning new recipes.) Cheating/hacking/modding your game will disqualify it from the event. If you get your game DQ'd, you will have to make up the time by replacing it with a new game in the theme. This won't count against your score. Each game has an Ultra Challenge which is similar to the Hardcore challenges in Monthly Mania. They aren't harder, they just fit the theme more tightly than the regular challenges. If you complete these Ultra Challenges, you get more points. You get three free swaps. You can use these swaps during the event to replace a game you chose for another game without penalty but you consume one of the swaps. Once all of the swaps are gone, you will lose points every time you declare a swap. You can also use the swaps to replace a game in a theme with your choice of game but once you consume all three swaps you will not be allowed to do this. I will keep track of your free swaps and warn you when you use them all up so you don't accidentally disqualify yourself by trying to swap out a theme an extra time. There is no way I will not dock you if your game theme swap is from a normal challenge to an Ultra Challenge but you need to let me research the game to ensure that it is in the Ultra Challenge category before I let you do the swap. For example, swapping Game X(which has a minor cooking element) for Game Y(which has a cooking mini-game, which is considered an Ultra Challenge) is free but swapping for Game Z(which has another minor cooking element) will require a swap. You are free to drop a theme during the event if you cannot handle it. However, you lose all of the points associated with that challenge. I know there are a lot of games without platinums that have these themes in them, so I will give extra points if you want to complete those games as well for the event but there is a hard cap of three of these games and you need to have a game with a platinum in them. These will not get extra points if the game qualifies for the Ultra Challenge of the regular game. However, you will not be penalized if you decide to swap these games as they are only extra points and as long as you complete one of those non-platinum titles, you still get the points. The old game will also be stricken from the list so you won't be punished for playing one game, swapping it out, and them completing the new game and two other games in this category. There is no restriction to the % of trophies. You can submit a game which has trophies on it already from 1 to 99%, as long as you don't have the platinum already, you are free to submit any game with any percentage as long as it fits the theme. (Forgot to mention this rule so a lot of people are asking that question, don't worry, you can have almost all of the trophies and get a quick completion on the game. The only thing that is important is the theme you are putting it on.) Scoring: The scoring is relatively simple. 10 points if you get a platinum in one of the themes; 20 instead if you complete the Ultra Challenge of a theme. 5 points if you clear a 100% non-platinum game in one of the themes. -2 points every time you swap a game in a theme after the event starts and all of your free swaps are consumed. After four docks, you will not be allowed to swap that game again for the remainder of the event and have to stick with it, so be sure you really want to swap games. We want to encourage you to stick with the game you chose and try for the platinum but if you get too frustrated with a game, we won't force you to continue playing it for the event. The exception to the above rule is swapping 100% titles. Since they have no platinum trophy, it would seem silly to dock you points on that, so you can swap 100% titles freely. Think of it as DLC trophies.] SPECIAL NOTE: If you want, you can drop a theme completely once the event starts if you find you hate the game you chose. ADDED: @Cassylvania asked about DLC trophies on a game and I haven't considered it. However, I've ruled that if a DLC pack fits one of the categories, then I'll allow you to count it as a non-platinum for points. In other words, you get 5 points if you complete a DLC pack for a game only if the DLC fits that category, even if the game itself does not. Think of it as a little extra motivation to get 100% on a game you got the platinum on. Also, as per Cassylvania suggestion, I am capping the number of points you can earn for one category at 25 points. That covers one platinum and three non-platinums. Any other games or DLC packs that might qualify do not count after you get the cap. The maximum number of points you can earn in this event is 350. (Call it hindsight, I should have recognized the potential for abuse. ) Rewards: After you complete your event, I will award you the proper badge with your name on it. The badge starts as a Black Badge for just participation but will evolve as you complete milestones in the event as follows. The reason you must earn one platinum to get any badge over Iron is because I don't want you to just complete nothing but 100% titles for the points and qualify for the best badge. There has to be at least one platinum standard to get the better badges. Black Badge: The booby prize for just participating and not earning enough points to promote to Iron Iron Badge: Earned by getting either one platinum or 20 points(if you intend to use non-platinums for the points, you need to complete 4 100% titles) Bronze Badge: Earned by getting at least two platinums or 30 points(if you are using non-platinums, but you must have at least one platinum to qualify) Silver Badge: Earned by getting platinums in three themes or 40 points(if you are using non-platinums, but you must have at least one platinum to qualify) Gold Badge: Earned by getting platinums in six themes or 70 points(if you are using non-platinums, but you must have at least one platinum to qualify) Electrum Badge: Earned by getting platinums in seven themes or at least 100 points(if you are using non-platinums, but you must have at least one platinum to qualify) Platinum Badge: Earned by getting platinums in every theme in the event. Titanium Badge* Titanium Badge: If you want to drop a theme due to stress over the game you chose and you feel you can't complete it or don't want to play it anymore, you are free to drop that game and the theme it was in from the event instead of swapping a game, especially if you used up all of your free swaps. In that case, you are free to try to earn the Titanium Badge, an alternative badge, by getting 200 points or higher. The only requirements are that you must have gotten the qualifications for the Electrum Badge(seven platinums or 100 points using 100% titles and one platinum). This alternative is for people who don't have many games with platinums in them or prefer to play 100% titles instead as I don't want to shun people who don't care about platinum trophies but love earning trophies. The Platinum and Titanium badges are exclusive, you can't earn them both. You will also get an "Ultra" title added to your badge if you complete the Ultra Challenges on themes that have them. Since a few themes don't have Ultra Challenges, I only put this for those that do. Ultra Newbie: Complete one Ultra Challenge Ultra Adept: Completed half of the Ultra Challenges Ultra Master: Completed all of the Ultra Challenges Also, this is not meant to be a race of competition, if you can't do all of the themes then don't push yourself to play a game you hate. The idea for this event is to try to play as many games as you can and get all the trophies for them before the quarantine ends. However, finally, if you decide to go for the challenge and max out your score at 350 points, I will reluctantly give you a Master Badge to show you have no life are a true gaming god(dess). The Themes: A note - if a game qualifies for the Ultra Challenge but not the regular challenge, I will count it. #COOKWITHME: Since fast food places without drive throughs and fancy restaurants are shutting down left and right, people now have to eat home-cooked meals. You can probably get by on ham sandwiches and soda but there is nothing like eating a pot roast or pasta dish you made yourself, and the characters in video games tend to think so too as many of them like to eat just like you and me. Platinum a game which has a cooking element in it (EX: Any game in the Tales of series, Disgaea 5, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game which has you do a cooking mini-game or in which you have to put some effort into the cooking. (EX: Kingdom Hearts 3, Overcooked 2, etc.) #DANCESINGWITHME: Music in video games is amazing, isn't it? It makes you want to get up and spin... er, dance a jolly jig sometimes. Maybe you want to hum or sing to your favorite song. One Youtuber even added lyrics to popular songs like Undertale's Megalovania! Platinum a game which has a really amazing soundtrack Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game with a dancing or rhythm minigame in it or a rhythm game (EX: Beat Saber, Just Dance series, etc.) #CRAFTWITHME: As one crafter in a popular MMO said, "Sometimes the best things are the things you create yourself" and crafting in video games is always a chore but gives out very amazing(and sometimes mandatory to the plot) rewards like powerful weapons, armor and tools for your adventurers to progress in the difficulty spikes ahead. Other times crafting, like in Animal Crossing, is just for utility but it's still rewarding nonetheless. Platinum a game which has a crafting mechanic in it (EX: Minecraft, Terraria, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game which has a trophy requiring you to craft (EX: Dragon Quest XI, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, etc.) #HANGOUTWITHME: While we can't hang out in groups anymore, the Internet has made socialization not too difficult with face-cam and whatnot. Video game characters never have to worry about being quarantined(unless you're Yuna from FFX-2, Chapter 4) so they can hang out freely with each other. While it may seem cruel to torture a person forced to live alone and only talk to people via facecam with virtual people chatting in a diner face-to-face, I'm sure some of these people will not envy these virtual characters. Platinum a game having a socialization aspect to it (EX: Persona 5 Royal, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game with at least one multiplayer trophy (EX: Call of Duty, Fortnite, etc.) #READWITHME: While some games aren't really considered the sort due to their limited interactivity and easy platinum pops because you just have to complete the stories, I try to think of these games as their title implies: VISUAL novels. I have read a lot of books(mostly involving cats and murder mysteries) but putting the controller down and reading the text as it scrolls by is relaxing at times. And hey, they give free trophies! Platinum a visual novel type game (EX: A Winter's Daydream, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a visual novel which requires you to watch every ending for a trophy. (EX: X-Blaze Code: Embyro, One Night Stand, etc.) #LEARNWITHME: (Idea credited to @kingofbattle8174) The great thing about today's Internet community is that you can always find a site which has a tutorial for learning a new skill or language. But video game characters are no different and always willing to learn and master their skills, especially since, unlike most real people, they need these skills to survive and complete their missions, be it to solve a murder or to save the world from the Sealed Evil In A Can of the Day(sic). Platinum a game with skill mastery trophies in it. (Example: Persona 5 Royal) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game which has a skill tree a nd a trophy requiring you to max out the skill tree. (Example: Final Fantasy X HD) Alternative: (suggested by @ladynadiad) Platinum a game which is set in historical times (Assassin's Creed series, Civilization VI, etc.) #GETREADYWITHME: Sometimes it seems like you do not really need to shave, shower or groom yourself, but it's vital you keep your health up by practicing good hygiene habits and grooming yourself from time to time. While it's difficult to get a home haircut or manicure, it won't hurt to keep your clothes clean and change them up once in a while. Platinum a game which has customization options or extra outfits that your characters can wear or change their colors (EX: Dragon Quest Builders 2, Disgaea 4 Complete+, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game which gives you a trophy for unlocking every alternate outfit. (Dragon Quest XI is the only game I can think of.) #SOLVEWITHME: My grandmother on my mom's side was never away from home much and she didn't have digital games(in fact, she had a very primitive TV and that was it) so when I was a kid and visiting her house, I would play with her huge 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles. Puzzles and word searches are a good way to unwind after a long day of... nothing. Platinum a game which has puzzles in it (EX: Any Artifex Mundi game, Deponia, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game which requires you to do nothing but solve puzzles (EX: Any POWGI game, any Pic-A-Pix game, etc.)Alternative choice: Platinum a game where you are solving a mystery (Sherlock Holmes, the Engimatis series, Sexy Brutale, etc.) #STAYHOMEANDWATCH: We can't go to the movies but we can watch movies from home with Netflix and Hulu, so why not play a game based around your favorite movies? Of course, if you aren't into movies, but love sports, that works too as channels like ESPN do have archives of famous sporting events. Platinum a game based around a movie, a TV show or a sports game (EX: Any movie franchise game, any EA Sports game, a Telltale game, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a very difficult sports game (must be at least 5/10 on the Playstationtrophies.org difficulty rating or PSNProfiles.com guides site) Alternative: Platinum an interactive movie, aka a FMV game (The Bunker, Late Shift, etc.) #BONDWITHME: Family is important in these dark times so why not watch virtual families bond? (Theme idea given by @kingofbattle8174) Platinum a game where the main character has a family (Persona 4 Golden, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game where one or more of the family members of the cast are playable characters (God of War[2018], Disgaea D2, etc.) #WORKOUTWITHME: You have to keep in shape even at home so take a page from these characters who go and hike, battle and stay active. And maybe move yourself! Platinum a game which has action elements to it, like a Metroidvania or Action RPG (Shovel Knight, Ni no Kuni 2, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum any PSVR title (Luna, Beat Saber, etc.) Alternative: Platinum a game which requires you to move your body, as in any fitness-based title. (Zumba, etc.) #FIGHTWITHME: It sucks not being able to hang out with people and go to the mall, so you tend to get angry. Sometimes video games make you cuss and bite your arm in rage, so why not take out all of that anger on some Heartless/Fiends/Demons/Abominations? Platinum a game which requires you to kill a ton of enemies for a trophy or two (Disgaea 1 Complete, Dragon Quest Heroes series, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a fighting game; beat-em-up games or games which have fighting-game style combat mechanics (Persona 4 Arena, Double Dragon, etc.) #TRAVELWITHME: Let's face it, we have our travel plans on hold indefinitely, and I won't ever be able to leave my hometown for a long time, so any plans I had for traveling up the Mississipi are dashed. Still, we can dream our traveling the world with these titles. Platinum a game which has a giant world map with a lot of varied towns and cultures (Dragon Quest XI, etc.) Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game which has an open world mechanic (Minecraft, Ni no Kuni Remastered, etc.) #GAMEWITHME: This is the easiest challenge to complete. It's basically video gaming your favorite games. Platinum a game that you really really want to play Ultra Challenge: Platinum a game with an Ultra Rare Platinum (Ruling Change: If you have already completed a game that fits this Ultra Challenge before the event started and got the platinum for it, you may use a swap to replace another game you put in this category. However, the game MUST qualify for the Ultra Challenge by being Ultra Rare.) willythom88
I'm in, I'll get you a list tomorrow. I've got some stuff in mind for each one. Any percentage regulations? Like, anything already started but under 30%? That sort of thing. Also, for the #stayhomeandwatch ultra challenge, maybe a spin off or inspired by one, like Lego games based on movies? Just a thought. Edited April 16, 2020 by willythom88

scemopagliaccioh
Add me in. Let's see if I can finally reach 200 plats and call it quits: Game with me: Star Wars Battlefronnt 2 is what I'd say, but it's already somewhere else, so hmmmm, ultra rares as of now... fuck. ok ok DMC 5, so be it, ugh talk about hard Travel with me: uhhhh, Borderlands 1 counts, I guess? It's pretty big. Fight with me: I'll go with KH3 with the Rook trophy consisting of killing 5,000 enemies (backlog) Workout with me: Does Borderlands 3 count as action rpg? It's a rpg and fps hybrid, otherwise, Diablo 3 Bond with me: oh, that's wholesome, I'll go with God of War 2018/4 Stay home: well, they're making an Uncharted movie, do I get away with Uncharted 2? Solve with me: well, puzzles could mean many things, I don't know, Hollow Knight(backlog) I have no idea where to go, so there's that. Actually, wait, Uncharted 3, haha gotchu Get ready: I'm so gonna regret this: Dragon's Dogma or Skyrim, both are very long but great games Read with me: I'm totally out of games for this, unfortunately, I'll leavee it blank 'till I get some games/requirements are expanded Hangout with me: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Craft with me: oh man, the games do not stack, I'm afraid? I already said too many games with crafting mechanics... uhhh, Days Gone (backlog) Dance with me: yeah, Hitman go has one of the best Soundtracks ever, ok fine, I'll go with Ratchet and Clank 2, but it's highly subjective.
AffectatiousDonk
@Rune_Crys this looks wonderful. Awesome work in putting this all together I would love to join up. Will have a list up this week. Thanks for organising.
SpaceCoresDad
Oh this is great! I'd love to participate. I'll need a few to come up with a list but I want to get on while the getting's good!
Rune_Crys
27 minutes ago, scemopagliaccioh said: ugh talk about hard They wouldn't be Ultra challenges if they didn't have some measure of increased difficulty. I should do research on the games listed so I will know if you are doing the normal or ultra challenges. Does Days Gone have a trophy requiring crafting something? Anyways, I'll put Borderlands 3 down on your theme for WORKOUT because the Borderlands games are action-based and involve a lot of walking so I'm sure those Vault Hunters get a ton of thick muscles. For READ, you can pretty much find a lot of Telltale games on the PSN store going for cheap(since the company went under) if you have no other option. I'm sure the people of this forum can also throw out ideas for visual novels they like to read. I want this thread to also be a support group for people to come up with game ideas. Also, if they are making a movie based on a game, then I will allow it. After all, that allows me to put the Ratchet and Clank(2016) game on my list for that theme as that game is based on the movie based on the game. I'll get a list of everyone who is submitting lists ASAP as I intend to put my own list as well. I will edit the opening post to include a list of participants soon as I know people are going to come in droves. As I said, I don't want to have too many participants but if anyone wants to do the event off-site(like I am doing with Bingo Bonanza 2020), you are free to do so. I am adding everyone who posted and asked to join to my list. Thanks to @Cassylvania(I knew she would try this out, I love how she handles events), @hsn963, @scemopagliaccioh, @AffectatiousDonk, @SpaceCoresDad and of course @willythom88 Edited April 16, 2020 by Rune_Crys

ladynadiad
I think I'll give it a go since there isn't a requirement to do ultra challenges for all of them, because the VR game one is definitely an impossibility for me. Will try and come up with a list soon. Would it be ok though to leave some blank since some of us tend to be more I'll play what I feel like and then see if it fits for a category sorts? Question, for the FIGHTWITHME one, would it be doable to get the ultra olevel with a beat 'em up game instead? Beat 'em up games usually consist of fighting swarms of enemies and you have to defeat them all to proceed to the next area. A classic of the genre is Double Dragon. Feels like that would also be a good match for the ultra level of that theme as well. Edited April 16, 2020 by ladynadiad
SpaceCoresDad
Here's my list for now. I'm attempting to do the ultra challenge for each one, so let me know if you think some of them don't fit. #COOKWITHME: ...Can I get back to you on this one? I'm sure I have a game with a cooking minigame in it SOMEWHERE but I'd really have to dig through my collection. I guess we have time before the even starts but this isn't a good one to begin with for me, lmao. #DANCEWITHME: Sayonara Wild Hearts. Been meaning to play this one for a while. It's a rhythm game and it has a kickass soundtrack, so I think it fits the bill pretty well. #CRAFTWITHME: HyperDimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1. God what a mouthful of a title. Anyway, this game apparently lets you craft items with an "item dev" system. There's two trophies for making items, one for just making one and another for making 100. Seems reasonable enough to me for this one. #HANGOUTWITHME: For Honor. This is a primarily multiplayer game, and fittingly, it has a lot of multiplayer trophies. I've already gotten started on this one, but it might still take a while. Hope it's okay that it's already begun! #READWITHME: Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly. A visual novel with multiple endings, all of which require a trophy. Seems like it fits to me! #GETREADYWITHME: Tomb Raider: Anniversary. There's a trophy called "Dressed to Kill" that has you unlock all of Lara's outfits. This one was easier than I expected! #SOLVEWITHME: Slayaway Camp. As far as I can tell, this game is purely puzzles. Yes, those puzzles involve you murdering hapless campers, but there's nothing in between them! Let me know if you don't think this fits the spirit of the challenge, but it's segmented into purely puzzle levels, so I think it fits. #STAYHOMEANDWATCH: Prison Break. This is based on a TV show, not a movie, is that alright? For the bonus challenge, I'd recommend a game that's well known for having incredibly long cutscenes or something? Like Death Stranding or Metal Gear Solid 4 or something. I'll change my pick if there ends up being an ultra challenge for that. #BONDWITHME: I'll get back to you on this one again. I know I have one, I just need to rifle through my discs. #WORKOUTWITHME: Job Simulator. This one's on sale right now and I needed an excuse to buy it! It's like, the perfect VR title for this. #FIGHTWITHME: Mortal Kombat 11. Just got this one too. Never platinumed an MK game before but I hear this one is the easiest of them. How hard could it be? #TRAVELWITHME: Watch_Dogs 2. Pretty open world game to me. It'll make me play it before Legion comes out too. #GAMEWITHME: I have a few of these, and this is pretty open. I'll need more time to sort it out. Anyway, hope this works! Feel free to critique or tell me it's all good. Looking forward to this event!

ladynadiad
#COOKWITHME - Will get back to you on this since the only one I can think of offhand is a better fit for another category. #DANCEWITHME - Akiba's Beat - As far as I know this game has rhythm elements to it #CRAFTWITHME - Will get back to you on this, most of the ones I can think of are very lengthy and I'm not sure how doable they are any time soon. #HANGOUTWITHME - Will have to get back to you on this since I've finished all games I know of that have this aspect and I'm not really into MP games. #READWITHME - Can I put down three possibilities here? If so, either Death Mark, Our World is Ended, or YU-NO #GETREADYWITHME - Tales of Symphonia - This one doesn't seem evident right off, but alternate costumes are tied to titles and there are trophies for getting every one of a character's titles. #SOLVEWITHME - If I don't finish Word Search by POWGI by then, then that one. If I do, then either Fifty Words by POWGI or one of the Pic-A-Pix games on PS4 I haven't finished yet. #STAYHOMEANDWATCH - Will get back to you on this one because I don't think I own a game on PSN based on a movie or has had a movie made about it. #BONDWITHME - Nier - The protag is a father and the reason for the game's plot is because he wants to find a cure for a disease his daughter has. #WORKOUTWITHME - Not sure off the top of my head which games I have are action RPGs that I want to play (besides Nier) so I'll get back to you on this one. #FIGHTWITHME - Will get back to you on this. I'm not into fighting games, so I'll need to know if a Beat 'Em Up will suffice or I'll have to dig through and see what games have trophies for killing monsters (and to think, I just finished up one with a very excessive monster kill requirement) #TRAVELWITHME - I'll get back with you here since I have a bunch of games that would fit for this. #GAMEWITHME - Will get back on this one as well since my first thought is a sequel and I'd have to figure out a way to also fit in the first game then. If anyone has thoughts, I have a listing of my owned and unstarted games in my about me. I'm only not really looking to try and finish up either Kingdom Hearts game, God of War and Muramasa Rebirth at this time and two Tales of games would be a bit much (Symphonia is a lengthy plat and I'll be a bit burnt out on the series for a time once I'm done with that one), but am open to suggestions otherwise since I don't know much about a lot of the games yet and especially how doable their plats are since a lot of my games are really long.
AuroraHistoire
I am signing up. Here is my list. There is no #DANCEWITHME because I don't own any games fit either criteria that I haven't platinumed. #COOKWITHME - Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny You cook food and eat. There is a cooking mini-game but it's very simple. All you do is press at the correct time to not burn your dish. I'm a little unsure if it qualifies for the Ultra Challenge. #CRAFTWITHME - Megadimension Neptunia VII There is crafting and there is a trophy for crafting 100 items. #HANGOUTWITHME - Persona 4 Golden You hang out with people sometimes. #READWITHME - London Detective Mysteria A visual novel. I think you're required to get every ending for the platinum but I'm not sure. #GETREADYWITHME - School Girl/Zombie Hunter There are alternate outfits and you get a trophy for collecting all of them. #SOLVEWITHME - Infinifactory You spending 99% of the game doing puzzles. The other 1 % you walk around your tiny cell (it's also the game's level select ) and later in the game> Spoiler You get talked at by NPC's in the second area that also acts like a level select. > so I'm not sure if it counts for the Ultra Challenge. #STAYHOMEANDWATCH - Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time There are a Little Witch Academia movie. As far I am aware, I have no other movie related games, so I guess I lucked out. #BONDWITHME - Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online Most of the playable characters are related to at least 1 other playable character. #WORKOUTWITHME - Valkyria Revolution It's a action-RPG with running in there. Sadly, no VR support. #FIGHTWITHME - Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroine's Infinite Duel Fighting game. #TRAVELWITHME - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition A game with large maps and you travel to multiple locations (with their own maps) in the game's world. #GAMEWITHME - Oddworld New 'n' Tasty A video game that I want to play. It also has a Ultra Rare platinum trophy. Edit: I realized that the criteria for #DANCEWITHME is just platinuming a game with a really amazing soundtrack. I own multiple Touhou games with amazing soundtracks, so I can't just pretend that all the games I own have terrible soundtracks. Honestly, I just don't want do #DANCEWITHME because then I would be completing 13 categories and 13 is unlucky. ArtikSkarab
That's a really interesting set of challenges. I would also like to join this event. My list will be up later as I need to coordinate my selection with my curret challenge to see if I can overlap anything. (Shame that I can't Ultra Challenge everything since I don't own a PSVR...)

Rune_Crys
@ladynadiad, @Ampplaca, @AuroraHistoire, @ArtikSkarab and @Aeshmah, you are all in. Glad to see people coming in, but as I said, I am not going to take too many participants as I have to track all of your lists. Maybe next year I can make a bigger event and let people who couldn't make it in after the cut-off have some fun with a similar event. (Unless the quarantine lasts for 2 years, lol I hope not ) Welcome to the thread. I'm adding any lists right away and don't worry if you don't have a list thought up now, that's why I put the start date at the first of the month, you have at least two weeks to come up or research ideas for games. 7 hours ago, SpaceCoresDad said: This is based on a TV show, not a movie, is that alright? In fact, I'll edit that category a tad... *goes off * *comes back* There, the OP now added sports games to that category and I even found an Ultra challenge for that category. Now if you don't mind, I need to go off to bed. I stayed up all night watch a speedrun of FFVII remake. Together_Comic
As a question, do these have to be previously unstarted games? Edit: Nevermind I am blind. I am happy to participate if you have room Edited April 16, 2020 by Together_Comic
Rune_Crys
6 hours ago, ladynadiad said: Can I put down three possibilities here? If so, either Death Mark, Our World is Ended, or YU-NO Okay, I could answer a couple of questions. You are free to choose between these three, but you have to choose one if they all have platinums. Just choose your favorite. As for the puzzle games, I doubt you could finish Word Search by POWGI. I platinumed that on an older account for Vita and boy howdy did it take forever. Still, I'm putting ?? in the READ, SOLVE and TRAVEL categories until you decide on a definitive title for them. For FIGHT, I will allow a Beat-Em-Up(like Double Dragon, right?) for the Ultra Challenge since Beat-Em-Ups are pretty much waves of enemies so it fits. When I get a nap I'll wake up and edit the theme to allow that so people don't ask me this question again. Also, as I told SpareCoresDad, you are free to use a sports game or something based on a TV show or concert. 3 hours ago, AuroraHistoire said: There is a cooking mini-game but it's very simple. All you do is press at the correct time to not burn your dish. I'm a little unsure if it qualifies for the Ultra Challenge. Well, Kingdom Hearts 3's cooking mini-games aren't that complicated either. I'll allow it, I am not trying to make the Ultra Challenge be too strict since I took a lot of thought on how to use the themes. (I would have put a gardening theme down too but very few games I know of have gardening themes that aren't Harvest Moon clones like your aforementioned Rune Factory. ) Also, if a game is 90% or more puzzles, then it counts for the Ultra Challenge, so your game will count. I put Artifex Mundi titles in the normal challenge as they are point-and-click adventures with puzzles in them, though they could count for the Ultra Challenge. I will get back on this if nobody submits an Artifex Mundi title for SOLVE. 8 minutes ago, Together_Comic said: As a question, do these have to be previously unstarted games? Thanks for the question, and no, I had said that the games do not need to be 0%, you can have games with trophies already on them. Fnee2000
My Finalized List... #COOKWITHME: Senran Kagura Bon Appetit! (PSV)- This game is one big cooking mini game. You have to perform well to cook well. #DANCESINGWITHME: Hatsune Miku Project Diva f (PSV) - I wasn’t sure about adding another rhythm game to the mix but this is one I have been sitting on for a while. #CRAFTWITHME: Fallout 4 (PS4) - There are trophies for crafting items, weapon mods, and workshop items. More items to craft as well. This will give me a reason to finish this game up that I started... #HANGOUTWITHME: Dead Island Riptide (PS3) - Complete the main story with multiplayer co-op partner(s) and tag enemies in a MP co-op game. #READWITHME: Our World Is Ended NA (PS4)- A VN where you have to see every path and ending to get those specific trophies. #LEARNWITHME: Assassin’s Creed III Remastered (PS4) - Takes place during the American Revolution. #GETREADYWITHME: Sleeping Dogs (PS3) - The Fashion Victim trophy is for acquiring all clothing or outfits. #SOLVEWITHME: Return of the Obra Dinn (PS4) - One big whodunnit where you have to figure out what happened on the ship and solve the crime. #STAYHOMEANDWATCH: Erica EU (PS4) - Beat the NA version and picked up the EU version on sale. I figure this gives me a reason to go through it again. #BONDWITHME: God of War (PS4)- A father and son go on a walkabout... #WORKOUTWITHME: Xing: The Land Beyond (PS4) - A VR puzzle game I picked up on sale. I don’t own a VR headset but someone I know is loaning me his so I can play this. #FIGHTWITHME: Tekken 7 (PS4)- I hate fighting games but this one looks doable for me #TRAVELWITHME: Skyrim (PS4)- Fus Ro Dah! all over this big big world... #GAMEWITHME: Amnesia Collection (PS4) - Been meaning to get around to this one and it is currently an UR Plat... I've done this with others, and it makes it a lot less stressful to run. Especially when you have a lot of participants. Who knows? If this goes well, maybe some of the participants will volunteer to help next time! Then, you don't have to look very hard! Haha.

Also, as I told SpareCoresDad, you are free to use a sports game or something based on a TV show or concert. And if you want some examples of Beat Em Ups besides Double Dragon (that's just the most iconic example I know of), a couple I can think of on PSN are I Am The Hero, Mitsurugi Kamui Hikae and the Senran Kagura games. All of them are pretty reasonable plats as well, but yeah thought that could be a great fit too. Did actually think of a few for some of the other categories though: HANGOUTWITHME - Hero Must Die. Again - While the socialization is limited since the game takes place over five days, one aspect of the game is meeting various people in an attempt to find the Hero's beloved and each of the heroines you meet give you a quest to accomplish and then they join your party. On top of that, there are trophies for spending the night with each of the heroines (not in the same playthrough, of course). STAYHOMEANDWATCH - Would the Sherlock Holmes games work? While Sherlock Holmes is originally a book series, the books have had numerous TV shows and movies made based off them. If so I'll use Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter READWITHME - I'll go with Death Mark for this one then. SOLVEWITHME - I'll go with Word Search by POWGI. If by chance I do finish it, I'll just save one trophy to be popped on the first then. WORKOUTWITHME - Dark Cloud - It's an action RPG GAMEWITHME - Dark Cloud 2 - This was my first thought but I had to figure out a way to fit in the first game first, but it's definitely a UR plat.
