High Roller method in Lucky in Love mission doesn't seem to work

 According to guide:

 

" Another option is to play the poker introduction mission ''Lucky In Love" about mid-way through the game, around the beginning of the Mexican storyline. You will play two hands of Poker, then get into a classic shootout. You can go all in here, and win 2000 chips. You can't lose; you always win this game to progress the story. "

 

Except it doesn't seem to work. At first hand I can win 1k chips, but in the second it's only 25, and can't go All-In (at one thousand it says just "raise"), rendering the method useless. Did that worked in an older patch or was never true?

I tried too and didn't work for me. I think you have to be real lucky for the A.I. to raise up the pot to more than 2k in one of the 2 hands (I was able to bring up to like 1k5 on the 2nd hand). I find doing the Blackwater poker easier. Got my trophy from there after like 2-3 hands

Weird, it worked like a dream for me.

Just tried it now - this method in the guide isn't a guarantee as advertised. 1st time doing the mission I didn't get it because the NPCs were unwilling to bet their chips. Did a reload and re-attempted, this time the guy had cohones and the trophy popped with 2005 chips won.
