Popular Post usapro2017
Firstly, I enjoy trophy hunting and it extends the lifespan of games I have fun playing. Great games like Uncharted, Last Of Us, God Of War, Red Dead, Bloodborne, Resident Evil 2 Remake etc have given me even more hours of fun added due to trophies. Even if you don't like any of these certain genres, these are just a handful of well crafted gaming experiences where the developers clearly put in love and effort. However, what confuses me is people that play 'garbage games' that they would have NEVER played if trophies/achievements never existed. Orc Slayer, Crash Dummy, Toro, Little Adventure On The Prairie, Hannah Montana, all the probably 50+ by now Ratalaika games, Slyde, 1000 Top Rated, Mr Massagy, Eekeemoo, Albedo Eyes From Outer Space, Tower Of Dragonasia, Samael Legacy Of Ophiuchus etc etc. Why not just play fun, well made pieces of software and earn trophies in those? Why not just play games you would have played if trophies never existed? That way you are experiencing fun from a good game and fun from earning the trophies? One of my friends played all these games and I asked her if she had fun and she said 'no they are all trash and had a miserable time playing all of them' I asked her why she does it and all she said was ' I dunno, probably just because they all have easy Platinums' Do some people get a trophy addiction where getting trophies are more important than actually having fun with a good game? Looking forward to an open discussion on here Edited May 1, 2020 by usapro2017

x7eight
Ratalaka games have made a mess of me, every now and then I'll pick up a few of them on sale just to pad out some trophies in between hard games and games I actually care for, just to keep some momentum going lol. I wouldn't play a pos game that takes ages just for trophies even if free.

scemopagliaccioh
I mean, it depends on your subjective view of a bad game. What is a bad game? And, does a good game have bad sections for the plat, making it a pain like a bad game? Is it a question of easy platinums? Because many AAA games have them, or just Ratalaika stuff for a quick plat? Your profile is private, so I'll just use the examples you posted: RDR is a great game for you. But are you really enjoying the grind for the platinum, offline wise and online wise? Don't lie. So it's really the same thing really, you like a game, you detest a game you don't hold particular feelings for a game etc, but you set an objective in your head, and now you try to complete it, for better or worse, said objective might be a platinum in a specific game, reaching X number of trophies, or surpassing a friend, so Rata stuff becomes useful for them. But primary I still play for fun and always will. Completing trophy list is just the second aspect. I mean I give a fuck about high levels in PSN, there's a lot of faking involved there anyway. I only care about my completion, the rest is irrelevant.

Carttagos
I would say that they want quantity and not quality trophies. I hate those trophy hunters but they can play what they want tho. In my case, I try to play good, harder and classic games just to prove myself if I am good enough or not to get the platinum.

Kind of this, but sometimes you spend ages on a single hard or long game, some of these cheesy platinums feel like saved time. TrophyChief
Bad game is subjective. Some enjoy collecting trophies for the sake of collecting trophies, some like seeing their trophy count and leaderboard standing increase, some like to support a certain developer, some like easy games, some like to participate in trophy contests, some like to play certain types of games, etc. There are a host of reasons... Me? I like trophies and hunt them wherever they may lie.
LoveInHell
I don’t think seeing a few ridiculously easy plats is bad, just some quick grabs. But I’ve seen profiles where they just plat an easy games like 3-6 times and you don’t see a single fun game, just all of them easy fast grabs. I think its mental and a lot of people on this site need help. ??♀️ Edited May 1, 2020 by LoveInHell
xZoneHunter
For some people the fun lies in getting trophies and not so much in actually playing the games i suppose.
Alltehpie
I think it depends. I just platinumed Wattam, an easy one, because it was by the Katamari guy. I've platinumed a bunch of Artifex Mundi games because my wife comes home exhausted and they're a really easy way to relax while also involving our child. Easy platinums are often easy games and a lot of times people just want to play easy, relatively cheap, games even if they are bad.
Popular Post AiManiaTrophyhuntres
We need to stop judging ppl for games on their list... to each their own. From the mentioned games I only played slyde, but I did that actually for fun bc I enjoyed this kind of puzzle as a child... good thing that the games was over fast bc the nostalgia and fun was over fast, too ^^" but that was the reason for buying it on sale in the first place. You can not possibly know for what reason anyone plays or buys something and even if you did, do you feel better playing high quality games over someone who just plays all the crap on a regualr basis? why? I personally don't care for the easy BS, but I don't like hating on that games either, since I REALLY enjoyed some Ratalaikas (Midnight) ans would always defend them Also, If someone decides to have a shitty day with stuff they don't enjoy - let them feel miserable. They already do, so whats the point in adding your opinion and make them even more miserable. For my completion I still do sometimes things I don't enjoy that much as I did with the rest of a game like fishing in Final Fantasy 15, but I did it anyway. Where is the difference? The big picture, the overall HQ platinum maybe. But at the end of the day that not really true, right? Edit: Oh I also enjoy a shorter Platinum while working several weeks on something big, so I have some change for a few hors and see something else Edited May 1, 2020 by AiManiaTrophyhunting
RedSkyKing
Damn. What happened to buying a game for the experience instead of a platinum that anyone could get within three minutes.

Kiyan-13
I don't know, maybe they don't have personality or have low self-esteem. This type of gamers is just below cheaters, I mean, it's really pathetic spending your time to earn shameful platinums. For me it would be embarrassing to have any of those easy platinums, others just care about numbers. You know how many platinums they have, doesn't matter to them if 90% of their platinums are a garbage. Edited May 1, 2020 by Kiyan-

Popular Post Helyx
Spend 100+ hours to plat one game and nobody bats an eye. Spend 15 hours to plat 50 and everyone loses their shit.
