Argh. In Snowrunner one of the oil rig trailers in Alaska bugged out on me. I was trying to lift it for the Goliath trophy and got it wedged in a spot where I couldn't free it. So I used the Restart Mission option, but that just made the trailer disappear. After trying a bunch of stuff, it seems like my only option is to start a new game since the bug locks me out of 2 or 3 trophies.

 

So, I'm going to swap Civ VI for something short and easy. Haven't decided what yet. And that way I can at least get the trophies for owning all the vehicles on this current Snowrunner save, and then start a new one fresh for everything else. So that's 50 hours or so down the drain. Very frustrating.

I will probably sign up for the next event, although I am doing worse this time than the last one but we will see how I do with the time left.

Appreciate it. Things are already going a bit better, though I have to go back to the dentist next week to get two teeth drilled.  At least they're right next to each other and I can do it in one day.

Long time no update! I’ve been pretty drained the last couple weeks. Work scheduled me 7 days in a row and is suddenly training me for an extra position, and then I wasn’t in the mood to play anything except my daily half an hour or so of Animal Crossing. I’ve decided to swap Conception II for Vampyr, because I just don’t have it in me to power through a JRPG with this many endings I’d have to carefully babysit saves for right now. So back to Ultra Despair Girls I go for the Vita game I’m working on right now!

Time for an end of weekend update from me, hope everyone had a nice weekend

 

Lost Sphear

I'm nearing the end of the main story now and I made some good progress with the more grind-based trophies - like earning 1 million gold, buying 500k worth of stuff from vendors and the food trophies etc. My plan next is to complete all of the character side missions and then finish off the last moves i need to execute for the paradigm shift trophy. Then it's pretty much main story with some side bosses and i'm all done.

 

Ghost of Tsushima

I love this game so far - it's a weird one because i have spent quite a bit of time in the gameworld, but it's really slow going. Not that it's a bad thing, but i'm moving at a very slow pace than what I anticipated. I'm really looking forward to pushing forward with this visually stunning game over the next few days.

 

Other than that it's business as usual for me. Look after yourselves and I'm really looking forward to checking out everyones updates with my morning coffee next week.

I finished Adam's Venture: Chronicles the night that I added it to my list. I played the updated version of this game Adam's Venture: Origins  about a year ago so it was a breeze to get through. I have made a bunch of progress on The Bridge and Psychonauts. I am up to the mirrored levels in The Bridge which are quite difficult and eventually I will have to go through and grab all of the wisp collectibles. 

 

Most days playing Psychonauts is enjoyable but sometimes the PS2 era controls and camera can get annoying. I am more than halfway through the game but most of the trophies that I have left are earned once you've gotten all of the collectibles. I am not looking forward to trying to get all of the figments for the Figgy Piggy trophy primarily because of Milla's level where there are a ton on the race track and because of any of the figments that move around. I find it very difficult to follow the path they are on.

 

I am also adding five more games that I plan to play within the next month. I'm pretty sure my biggest struggle is still going to be getting the platinum for Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

Was it the flying bits yeah? It's been years since I played Super Heroes but I think I used to use O and X to adjust the height. That was a right nightmare. With Avengers recently, I used the R stick, just little taps to line up with the circles in advance. I do seem to remember having a harder time with Super Heroes, I just don't know whether it's because you can't use the R stick, or you can use it and I didn't realise. Sorry for the next to no help. I hope you get it done!

Two more games done and July isn’t over yet so I’d say I’m fairly on track with my goals.

 

Children of Morta was honestly such a good game I’m a full on sucker for stories with strong family bonds and the “found family” trope, I also don’t think I’ve seen a fantasy story that involved an actual full big family (including uncles, grandparents, cousins etc.) into the main narrative. Game play was fun I also enjoyed how the game mechanics function like dead rising where your gonna did a lot in the beginning and you benefit more from doing the early grind but the really nice touches were the little narrative bits that would pop up whenever you came back from the dungeon by a death or choice so failing didn’t feel bad at all and made me not wanna rush through cause I didn’t want to miss something about the Bergson family.

 

Maneater is really good honest B-movie fun it knows what it’s trying to go for and goes full with it. Love the play on the nature documentary of the narrative, I wish the lock on system would have worked better for certain fights but I got through, I honestly wished they had even more ridiculous was to evolve and kill the humans, I feel like this game has a good opening for future DLC cause I just want to go even further into playing around as a giant mutant Shark.

Yeah - its the flying and you can't use the right stick unfortunately in this one (I think they updated it in later games). Every few days I try again but I might not be able to manage it before the end of the challenge. I am very much looking forward to Seasons After Fall. I started playing it on PC a while back but my current laptop has seen better days so I pretty much only play games on console these days (until I get a new PC).

So finally after a dozen or so attempts I got the final trophy for Journey having to complete the majority of the story withvthe same random companion was tuff. Still one of the best games I never knew I needed to play.

Shadow Of Mordor is on PS3 and I heard that version is cursed, won't have time for it, so I have to choose between the magical trio and an obnoxious orange ninja. Hmmm...decisions decisions.

 

Might postpone these games until the Fall-Winter challenge (seeing how the poll evolves  ), but if not, I will be more than happy to slap another platinum here.

I have completed three more games off my list since my last update! Irony Curtain was a point-and-click adventure that was made by Artifex Mundi and was enjoyable to play with the typical missable trophies.

 

Black Mirror was a type of horror point-and-click adventure with a great story that kept me intrigued till the end. It was about a family curse and has an easy platinum, I mean what more do you need. 

 

Lastly, I finally finished the story in The Last of Us Part II for the first time, and man I personally loved everything about this game. I actually want to make it my #350 platinum, which means I need to start cracking down on my list. I am thinking of working on Deathly Hallows and LEGO Lord of the Rings next and hope to have them completed by my next update (if I don't get too distracted by Ghost of Tsushima).

Right, I changed my mind.

 

First of all, let's talk about Sly. A franchise that I was too young to experience when it was new, so here is the remaster on the PS3. And boy, am I glad that they did. Despite the high rarity which usually means a game that people play solely for the platinum, this was different. Bit weird was the way I got into the games. Started first mission, didn't really like it, played something else, decided to give it another shot to at least get some more trophies, absolutely love the rest of it. If I was near my PS3 now, Sly 2 would've also been completed.

 

I gave the Crew 2 another shot, and all of a sudden I love it. Some thing happened with Detroit, so maybe I judge too soon. As it stands, it's going to be Ninjago that can Ninja-GO! (get it?) I'll show myself out.

Midweek-ish update time, hope everyone is well!

 

I finally finished Lost Sphear making it my 149th Platinum. I have the Resident Evil 3 Remake downloading at the moment ready to eventually be my 150th milestone, can't wait!

 

Lost Sphear

 

Overall this was a pretty neat straightforward little indie JRPG. So far between this and I Am Setsuna it's been a similar deal - nothing overwhelmingly amazing, but a nice chilled out old-school throwback JRPG experience. I'm really looking forward to checking out Oninaki soon.

 

Ghost of Tsushima

 

I was messing around with the photo mode on this recently and it might just be the best i've ever seen in a videogame. It should absolutely be a benchmark for future games which have them. I haven't been able to put as much time into this as I would have liked, but I should be able to put about 20-25 hours into it between tonight and Sunday.

 

Mafia 3

 

What i've played so far is waaaaay better than the Mafia 2 remaster from a technical point of view. I'm also loving the story which surprised me because alot of people told me it was crap compared to Mafia 2. So far i've found it to be really well acted and written from a dialogue point of view.

 

Now that Lost Sphear is squared away - this weekend and the following week is likely gonna be a mix of RE3, Ghost of Tsushima and Mafia 3. In terms of my list, i might do some swapping/removing soon enough as i'm not sure if some of these titles have had a release date moved. Watch this space.
