Seasons After Fall - 0%->100% [8.2.2020] 13. √Letter - 0%->100% [8.5.2020] I've decided to use my second swap to remove Shadwen from my list because even though I feel like I could complete that game by the end of the month, I really have zero desire to play it. I found the concept to be quite interesting but in practice, the gameplay was more annoying than fun. I'll be swapping in Hollow Knight which I have been enjoying greatly. Between the art style, soundtrack, and gameplay it is an overall pleasant experience. I can't believe that I waited this long to play it. I spent more time on Root Letter then I had expected to. I honestly was really intrigued by the story and ended up actually paying attention to it rather than just powering through the game. If you like visual novels this one is fun with some WEIRD storylines depending on which path you choose. The Bridge is finally complete and I luckily had no issues with popping the Collector trophy which was my biggest fear based on the posts in the forum about it being glitchy. I loved the M.C.Escher style of the puzzles. I definitely dragged out completing that game because I liked doing the puzzles a few at a time and savoring the game rather than rushing through it. It is another game whose soundtrack I greatly enjoyed. Finally, I made some progress on Psychonauts. At this point, I have gotten all of the collectibles from the camp and any of the levels I have unlocked already. Waterloo was by far the most annoying level to try to collect figments in because there were so many environmental pieces that would block the camera rather than clipping so you could see. I am becoming increasingly more frustrated with the lack of precision of the controls in this game and the camera not following in an intuitive way. Some parts of the game are incredibly easy but then I find myself repeatedly jumping from the same set of platforms 20 times in a row just to get Raz to touch a figment the right way to collect it. There is a good chance I won't be able to beat the punching mini-game in which case this game will not get completed but at least I'll have done as much as I am capable of. Speaking of incomplete games - both Lego Marvel Super Heroes and Q.U.B.E. Directors Cut may stay at 90% for a good long time. I am in the middle of a few other events and I really don't want to waste time and energy trying for just a few trophies that will require me to repeatedly do the same things over and over until I maybe get it right. I thoroughly enjoyed both games but the flying in LMSH and the time trials in Q.U.B.E. can both go straight in the toilet.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 29% 33% 13. Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (PS4) - 0% Swaps used: 2/2 I've finally got some progress going again, wooo! I hit a couple of snags along the way in Shenmue II. Ironically I didn't have the patience to catch leaves which is a part of your training within the main story. You have to catch 3 leaves in a row in order to progress. It's pretty tricky because it does require patience and timing. If you can't, no more story. I mean, fair play. I thought that was it for a while haha. It nicely rewards you with a gold for doing it though. The 2nd block was where you actually have to be OK at fighting. Most of the game you can bash your favourite combo, and then you're thrown into fighting 3 people of moderate skill (you can save in between). That was a case of turning it off saying "I probably won't be able to do that" to turning it on a week later and doing it 1st time. After that, you've got 25% of the game left which is a leisurely stroll for the most part (literally a leisurely stroll). The last hour of the game could have been used as a tutorial and it was lovely. I sat down one afternoon and had a laugh with Monkey Island 2. I wasn't going for the 3 hour speed run trophy but after I finished in 3.01.32, I reloaded the only save I had and could only manage 3.00.36. I did want to tick that off before this update, but I just played 10 mins and I am not feeling it one bit at the mo. The initial play was fun though, super fun, and I'd even forgotten about the ending. Classic. I can still finish the challenge but it's going to be tricky, mostly because I've found a new "thing". I've got lots of PS3 titles that I've previously written off the platinum for, but I've still got loads to do in them, in some cases finishing the story (Darksiders 2) so I've been going back through, effectively turning my trophy list upside down. Every game's a candidate provided I've got access to it and want to play it, so I'll be working on that on and off, up until the PS5 comes out, then I can "retire" my PS3 to it's box in a cupboard for safe keeping. In the time it's taken me to write this and tinker with it, I've convinced myself to get Monkey Island 2 done now before anything else. Jekyll and Hyde, which one's nuts? Cracking effort everyone, we're doing pretty well with this near the end. Loving the variety of games people are playing as always! Stay safe ?

In fact I haven't been able to play in the last 3 days... actually I'm lying I did play a couple of hours of Fall Guys today with my sis (on an alt acc as I suck at the game and I don't want to put myself through the pain of a certain trophy, also not interested in playing the game on my own anyway). I think I'm about halfway in God of War 3 but not sure and didn't manage to finish a full season in F1 2020 but came close. However, from now on I will have lots of free time till the end of the challenge. I think I can finish a couple of games next week, but it would be a dream to finish Tomb Raider, GoW, F1 and Cat Quest. Then leave Zone of the Enders and Bioshock for last week... most likely I wouldn't be able to do much in Bioshock. Well anyway, I would love it if I could do all that, it would be a great comeback but we shall see. Good luck everyone for these final couple of weeks!

I have been focusing on me lately as its about time so a lot time at the gym etc leaving me very little for gaming. Me and the other half have finished up the story in Borderlands and it is such a great game to play split screen. Popular Post Liioni
It's great to follow everyone's progress! I finished up LEGO Ninjago and started making some progress in Doom! I think I will be able to finish at least the platinum before the end of the challenge, I am not so sure about all the DLC's though, but we shall see! Ninjago was a lot more fun than I expected it to be, the camera felt a bit annoying in the beginning but I got used to it. Now I need to figure out which Lego game to go for next. I have a few started that I haven't finished yet. Maybe the Harry Potter ones. Hmm. Good luck to everyone the last two weeks! Popular Post Static_Rook
Not much progress the last two weeks for me. I restarted Snowrunner but got burned out on it pretty quick, I probably won't finish it at this rate. There's still a chance I'll get Sakura Wars done though so 4 out of 5 isn't bad, I guess. Hopefully my next update is more positive.
Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
Happy Wednesday everyone! Just a few updates for my mid-week post here. We're almost at the end of the challenge and i'm looking at 4/19 platinums before it ends. So not super successful this time around. But hey, I know now not to do a giant list initially and take it slowly Ghost of Tsushima I made some good progress with Ghost of Tsushima, i'm pretty sure i'm about halfway through the final act of the game now and i've been pretty diligent with knocking down map locations and completing side missions so I think I'll get a quick succession of trophies towards the end. Mafia III This was a bit frustrating for me - The platinum generally requires 2 full playthroughs and I actually made some good progress. I made it to the end of my first playthrough of the game and two trophies bugged out didn't pop. To get them again, i'll have to do another full playthrough of the game. In addition to the second playthrough. I'm not really up for doing an entire additional playthrough of the game to get 2 trophies, so i'm officially dropping it from my list. I'm also going to be removing the Mafia 1 remake from my winter challenge list because so far, this entire trilogy has been bugged to hell. Blair Witch I made a start on Blair Witch and it's been great so far. It really captures that feeling of being in the middle of the woods at night. It hasn't been as scary as I thought it would be though, so far nothing really terrifying has happened, apart from some pretty haunting visuals at times. Hope everyone is keeping safe and well, see you in the next update! I have finally crossed off a second game from my list. God of War 3: The Ancient Greece Saga is finally over. Is anyone even left alive in Olympus? Kratos is probably the most brutal in this one, at times I found myself thinking "Really they're going that far with it?". Some of the mechanics were getting a bit stale by this last game so I'm glad they changed it up for God of War (PS)4... I'm going to have to play that too sometime. I did a normal run, then did the Challenge of the Gods (or whatever it's called) which was quite easy or I got lucky. then I used the exploit for the hard (Titan) run while cleaning up whatever I missed. F1 2020: Just racing along in career (MyTeam). This game is my main focus because it's a plat milestone for me. Rise of the Tomb Raider: Finally played co-op endurance with my brother. We got most of it done, except surviving for 10 days because it takes a long time and the infamous glitchy trophy (which we did do but of course it glitched on us, so we'll have to try again) We'll probably pick up where we left off tomorrow.

I did this trophy with 2 different people, got adventure besties to pop on our first try both times. (Along with great outdoors, great haul and master and apprentice). Here’s what we did: the host selects the ‘adventure besties’ challenge. Only the host picks up the artefacts. We only picked up 20 artefacts total each time.. 15 small and 5 combining medium/large artefacts. Once we had our 20 artefacts (the non-host should have picked up 0 at this point), we found a shelter/any building that was relatively close to a signal fire and afk’d there for more the half of the days to reach day 11. ‘Small game hunter’ really helps here when keeping your food up. Also I’d highly recommend the infinite grenade arrows card for the jaguars, takes them down in 2 hits. Poison arrows are perfect for every other enemy. Best of luck!

One of us had infinite poison arrows / grenade arrows equipped and the other had small game hunter and the other food related endurance card (killing enemies grant food I think?) Another thing we did was to make sure the host is the first person to walk into the ropes at the end. That’s everything I can think of that we did!

Let's start positive. I completed all the games on the PS3! Sly 3 was just as fun as Sly 2, even though it's a palette swap. General Tsao was one of the best boss fights I've had in a long time. Having to beat him later with half health went easier than I thought when I finally started to use the spin attack. The Ultimate gauntlet seemed threatening, but I could have gone through that level twice within the time limit of like 15 minutes. I will probably add Thieves in Time and Bentley's hackpack to the Fall/Winter event. Sly Minigames was a collection of easy minigames, all of which, barring Bentley's RC thing, took only one try. Even the RC thing would've been easier if I had realized that bonus points also counted. Also completed Murdered Soul Suspect. After the PS4 version, enter the PS3 one. Same feeling, really. Not bad, not brilliant. Nice for trophies, and if anyone wants a quick plat, this is a good option for not being awful. This time I stayed away from the town collectibles to make the hunt for them later easier, and that's reflected in my completion time. Then on to the PS4. I started SOMA, and am currently at Theta. Obviously playing on safety mode, because screw horror, just give me trophies! Game has a pretty cool setting though, and the monsters can be pretty scary. Especially when they pop up out of nowhere. Also started Rocketbirds 2. I'm surprised by how much I liked this game. It's good fun, and pretty underrated. Add to that the fact that the trophies have a very low rarity (only one uncommon trophy, all the rest is rare or very rare) and this will be a fun plat. Finally, the big one, Spyro. And guess what. All of a sudden, I like it. It's not love like with Ninjago and Crew, but I do like it. Currently cleaning up the gems and dragons, so this will be done tomorrow somewhere. My original plan had me plat Spyro 1 and 2 by now. I'm never going to complete this, but at least I'll go down fighting. If only I didn't lose those two weeks back in June... Happy hunting everyone!
Popular Post Sword
Friends, On August 10th my city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa (USA) was hit by hurricane force winds in an inland storm (called a derecho) with hurricane force winds of up to 110-140 mph (in my city at least). I was caught in the middle of the storm following my dad on his CAN-AM Spyder as we tried to race from work back to our homes. Luckily he was able to quickly pull into a nearby corporate business that were letting people in for about 30 seconds before the winds went from 0mph to 100+mph. I on the other hand ended up trapped, sitting in my car huddled up against the corporate building while hurricane-like-forces whirled around me. Trees falling on cars and blowing across the roads/parking lots, electric poles going down left and right, rain falling so hard I couldn't even see the buildings around me that I knew were there. After about 20 minutes of basically sitting in my car praying to the good Lord constantly, the storm stopped. The devastation was unlike anything I've ever seen. Entire city without power for days. Ended up packing what I could and headed to my parents for 8 days and just got back in my apartment yesterday. I still don't have internet at home (writing this from work). Yet through all this: neither my father, I, our vehicles nor our homes were damaged in any significant way. Only by the good grace of God can something like that happen when other people are losing homes, cars, etc around me. Time to look outwards of how I can support and uplift others, be it finances or gifts. So I've had a 8 dayish "vacation?", where I took my PS4 to my parents and actually got a lot of gaming in. So without a further monologue... I present... Color Code: Blue = Game completed to 100% + DLC. ☑ Disgaea 5: Alliance Of Vengeance (PS4) 100% ☑ Color Slayer (PS4) 100% ☑ Lego Harry Potter - Complete Collection: Years 1-4 (PS4) 100% ☑ Lego Harry Potter - Complete Collection: Years 5-7 (PS4) 100% ☑ Cosmic Star Heroine (PS4) 100% ☑ Lego Star Wars: Force Awakens (PS4) 100% Swaps Used: 2/2 Completion at last! Fanfare music, drinks for all! Sure it's a short list but give me a break! I work 8 hours a day and only get so much time to play, this ain't those college days anymore ya know! Hahaha. Edit: Got internet back so was able to sync my trophies. Everything should be there now. Edited August 21, 2020 by Sword

DizzyDavidson
@Sword It's good to hear you guys are OK. That must've been some scary shit. But in every bad situation there's something good, you got that "vacation". And congrats on finishing your games!
Popular Post MidnightDragon
Moved Shakedown Hawaii and Reel Fishing: Road Trip Adventure to my fall/winter list. Most likely I'll knock them out first. I'm FINALLY starting Tsushima Monday. Better late than never, right?
