visighost
I don't know if this will also impact NA and AS versions (did they mean ALL EU releases or ALL vita ports?). I find stacks silly and I'm sure @BlindMango will appreciate, but it's really too bad for people who were playing these games for what they were (casual, inherently portable games) in the EU... DaivRules
Good old PEGI, look at them keeping everyone safe... and now keeping everyones money in their pocket. 2 minutes ago, visighost said: I don't know if this will also impact NA and AS versions (did they mean ALL EU releases or ALL vita ports?). They are nowadays the only affordable games on the Vita, they mostly have some sort of decent content (too bad they award the platinum before the game actually starts, lol). sepheroithisgod
Hopefully, this lessens how many stacks of the same game people can get. I still strongly believe the Vita, while a great system, was not handled properly by Sony. All cross-buy games should have the same list.
Lord_Bane999
Wtf is Pegi smoking? The fees are almost 6 times what they were before. Rata aside this is gonna kill alot of Indie Devs still clinging to the Vita. Edited May 4, 2020 by Lord_Bane999
DaivRules
For the record, I doubt Sony is very happy about this. This is going to cut into their sales, even if they haven't supported the Vita directly for a long time. They are beholden to the ratings agencies and this particular rating agency (PEGI) threw up a huge barrier to getting new content into Sony's ecosystem. With the restriction on the Vita of one account, for most of Sony's EU userbase, this is going to restrict them from getting any new Vita content. What some people haven't mentioned is this is going to stop A LOT of indie developers from even looking at developing for the Vita. This has reduced the potential market for every single one of them. Don't be shortsighted and only think this will affect the publisher people love to hate.
Zircon_Lotus
i still think it's sad the fact that Sony never supported the Vita properly. And unless they have a big surprise about the PS5 and handhelds, they seem to have left the market to Nintendo and smartphones.

Golem25
I really want a new Sony handheld, I really do. The Vita was an amazing piece of tech, let down by its creator and third parties (but who can blame them?). I don't like Rata, I believe they know full well what they are doing with Trophy lists and stacks that somewhat devalue the overall Trophy system, and are somewhat predatory (although admittedly Trophy hunters are a niche audience to 'prey' on). However, the increase in fees are bizarre, frankly indefensible. How could you possibly, possibly explain away such a marked increase? It hurts players, it hurts small developers, and it unnecessarily enriches whichever suits helm PEGI. All these rating agencies are scammers anyway, I understand the need for some sort of system but this is exploitative at best. As such, I do feel for Rata, and as a massive supporter and lover of the Vita, seeing the last reliable stream of games for the system be cut off is disheartening - even if I'd probably never buy a Rata title anyway. I continue to hope against hope that the recent patent of Trophy support for older games that don't have it (e.g. PS2 and PSP games playable on 'modern' consoles via the PSN store and physical copies) will actually lead to something and developers make use of it en masse - so I can squeeze a few more Trophies out this amazing handheld despite new games for it going extinct.

Undead Wolf
Yeah, I think I'll live without these "casual" Vita games. I mean if you look at the new releases in the Vita's store these days, you'll find that it's full of low quality games with a piss easy trophy lists sold on the cheap. The only people who should care about this are the trophy whores since this will likely mean one less plat stack. Boohoo...
Boooda
I use my vita everyday and I'm sad at the trickle down effect this will have on all vita games period. Long live vita.

StarWolf3000
This btw. only affects the Vita in PEGI-enabled countries (more than Europe uses the PEGI system), as PS4, XB1 and the Switch are using the online IARC system to get their rating assigned. Those are still from the rating boards for their countries, but you don't have to pay the fee directly to PEGI. Oh, and it basically doesn't directly affect Germany, thanks to the USK, as PEGI is not the primary rating board over here. ConAir
Well, a lot of developers allready said it was tough to make money on PSVita releases. That's why most of them left the scene allready. Not all of them release on multiple platforms, so they can't all make a profit on their releases and I expect them to head for another platform. And releasing in Europe was allready more expensive due to translation costs.
DaivRules
PEGI has relented on Vita and set some conditions that pretty much encompasses every Vita game to be exempt from the majority of the price increase. https://mobile.twitter.com/cowcatgames/status/1266362717897740289
LoveInHell
My first language isn’t English. Does this mean they will stop making games for the Vita? As long as I can still purchase from the Vita store, I don’t really care as I already have hundreds of games yet to play anyway.

No, this means the decision that would have essentially been the final blow for the Vita has been reversed. It is a positive sign if you want to see the Vita continue to get new titles.
