I'm guessing it might be the same update, all the other versions of the game got, which addressed certain things and added a new ending for the secret/true final boss. I may possibly be wrong, but hopefully this is the PS4 version finally getting these patches. EDIT: Just tested transitioning between areas, and you do have to hold down the attack button now to do so. It does seem to be this update for the PS4 version finally.
