Double XP tracker

It would be great and useful to the trophy hunting community to have some sort of box on the front page that lets people know what games are offering Bonus XP. For example Double XP has been going on for 24 hours now in Fallout 76 and nobody in the forums mentioned it. It will most likely be the same situation when Neverwinter Has it's Double XP event in 2 weeks.

I cant imagine it would be possible to automatically track that for every online game when devs can put those events up on a whim

It's a really good suggestion, but it would heavily rely on the community reporting double XP.

I feel like the community will be able to update it themselves. It's not like people dont post when double XP is active anyways sometimes it gets buried however.

Don’t the games usually advertise that themselves quite heavily? (I don’t really play those kind of online games anymore)

Give the users of this site incentive: 

Give them points or titles or a week of premium if they report these events so the system basically becomes automated.

 

Heck you can even make a simple leaderboard with nothing more than how many XP events have been posted by whom and there will be very dedicated gamers fighting for the top spot. We are born with leaderboards in our minds any way.

I can think of many, many ways to make this feature even more laborious. But let's just implement it and see how to waste more time from there.

Given the inherent competitive nature of this website this may work. Just need to find a way to make sure people don't lie so they gain more points .

 

Maybe a extra tab next to sessions where you can see the active xp events.

Doing this manually doesn't seem that practical.

 

Usually these things get announced on some sort of social media (twitter for example), maybe a link to the official channels on the game page would be a good addition.

You could go even further by writing a script to scan twitter posts on certain words like "2x exp" or "double experience" and in case there are any embed them on the game page.

Ofcourse it'm just brainstorming here but that's how i would approach this.

Easy: Whoever submits the double xp event has to provide an official link. Others can report if an event has been wrongfully submitted.

If you have leaderboards people will manage everything by themselves.

Similar to reporting cheaters it's easier to create a system that maintains itself so the site owners can have minimal effort in the long run.
