Popular Post PhantomFear94
Apologies if someone else jumped on this - as there isn't a game forum for this yet in the absence of a list, I'll make this for now. No credit for finding any information, just reporting it to you all! The Last of Us: Part II trophy list hasn't been revealed, but it is confirmed that none of the trophies are going to be influenced by difficulty. This is from an official PlayStation Blog Post about accessibility features (full link below): Quote "As an extension of our accessibility features, The Last of Us Part II also includes expanded difficulty options. At launch, we provide five different challenge levels: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Hard, and Survivor. We also allow you to customize specific aspects of difficulty to your needs or desired experience. You can individually tweak difficulty settings related to incoming damage, enemy and ally effectiveness, stealth, and resources. Trophies are not limited by difficulty" https://blog.playstation.com/2020/06/09/the-last-of-us-part-ii-accessibility-features-detailed/ This is from the horses mouth, so I would take it on board as highly accurate. It also implies that any collectibles or missable trophies won't be pseudo-locked to difficulty (for example, different collectibles on different difficulties, or particular missable opportunity only based on harder difficulty enemy layouts). As the game won't have MP either, except a significantly easier platinum for Part II than The Last Of Us OG. Only thing I've say is that The Last of Us: Part II feels a prime candidate for a NG+ free trophy update with a hard difficulty requirement, so keep that in mind. WayfarerFox
Shame that it won't BUT I'm sure they'll most likely do what they did with the first game and add in a DLC for it. I'd definitely be up for that! Still going to play it on Survivor though, after a normal playthrough. Popular Post OTPYG
That’s a shame, I like trophies that encourage harder difficulty playthroughs. Will be a very common Plat given there’s obviously no grindy MP trophies too. Edited June 10, 2020 by OTPYG
Stardroid
If it ain't another AAA game with most likely an insanely easy trophy list. Getting a bit bored with them. The last game that was AAA that I remember was challenging was Wolfenstein New Colossus.
Popular Post willmill97
I hate that these days games don't have trophies for completing the game on the hardest difficulty. Some platinums feel so dumbed down without any sort of challenge. It's a shame.

Games that add it after the fact (Rage 2, Days Gone etc) just do it to lazily try and stretch out the games longevity. Popular Post dieselmanchild
TLoU is actually one game where a Survivor/Grounded playthrough is actually well worth it. It’s one of those rare games where the experience between your easy mode collectibles run and your hard mode playthrough is completely different. It really forces you to play stealthy, silent, and carefully manage your bullets and other resources because they’re so scarce. It had some super tough moments but was well worth it! On the other hand though, TLoU 1 was a real bitch to plat. Between the multiple difficulty trophies and the ridiculous multiplayer grind, that game was a bit of a slog to get through in the end. So maybe a nice, effortless trophy list isn’t the end of the world.

I'd prefer it to be in the original list but it's the hand we've been dealt. I'd of at least liked to see a Survivor one for the time being.
sephiroth4424
Don't worry. You will have the opportunity to get one dlc with Grounded difficulty and 93.67% rarity later
HusKy
From the information I have about the trophy list, I would not be surprised if the plat rarity was 20-30% here at PSNP. Edited June 10, 2020 by HusKy
steel6burgh
Hopefully there will be something to challenge us other than following a collectible guide to take away from the story. No multiplayer or difficulty please cut collectibles out of the mix too.
Popular Post Barbeqmeister
Collectibles, missables, multiplayer and difficulty trophies are the worst. The most fun trophy lists have none of those. Glad Naughty Dog is going in the right direction
Popular Post Dry_Plumbus
As someone who recently got the plat on TLOU 1 and Uncharted 4 i'm kind of glad to hear the plat isn't locked behind difficulty. They wanted you to complete like 6 or more playthroughs for TLOU, thank god for the exploit to just go one round on easy and one on grounded +. I also hope there isn't an annoying speedrun trophy like UC4. I like replaying good games. But as popular as those games are I just don't get why they made the trophy lists such a slog to get through. I like a good balance of trophies, and TLOU was stacked to "hard/annoying". However, this sounds like completely going the other way. We shall see. To people who are whining about it being easy you can always play on survivor difficulty, and if you are whining cause alot more people will be able to get the plat, i'm eye rolling at the elitism. Check your priorities.
Popular Post SirPigFace
I dont mind the difficulty trophies, its when you have to play 3 different playthroughs to finally unlock the last difficulty that annoys me. Just make all the difficulties available from the start. No doubt a few months down the line they will add some new game plus trophies I bet
Thrillhelm
One might say since the game follows a certain agenda it also removes difficulty trophies for that would be ableism. Like only good players get the full experience.

Glad Naughty Dog is going in the right direction There are probably collectibles and missables (although likely chapter select, renedering the latter less of a problem). This is purely stating that the blog suggests no difficulty trophies. My two cents in general is that I'm largely glad the platinum will be easier, but I would have done the difficulties if it was required for the Platinum - if they release a NG+ DLC, which I expect, I'll do that too. Is what it is. Can play on harder difficulties still if you find it more fun.

Even some MP trophies aren't that bad.....but I think they need to be relatively easy to obtain and the game needs a fun online mode. I like collectibles. Missables are a pain if you have no desire to replay the game but both encourage exploration. Difficulty ones can also be hit or miss depending on if its worth trying on a harder difficulty (ideally...difficulty ones will stack). My least favorite trophies are (aside from annoyingly difficulty/grindy online ones) the ones that require you do something that in no way would occur during a normal play through. Uncharted games have a few of these (like UC4's run the gauntlet - stealth, melee, explosion and headshot kill all within 15 seconds or the take out XX enemies in a row with melee after softening them up with gunfire). Ones like the Arkham Knight "perform 15 different combos in a single free flow". The odds of someone doing that accidentally without actively grinding it in a VR mission is unlikely.

sepheroithisgod
Kind of a shame since Grounded was definitely the best way to experience TLoU. The only issue I had with the original was the NG+ trophies.

I am all but certain they would. I like collectibles if they serve a purpose in exposition or cool rewards/perks/easter eggs, and there aren't too many. I'd rather fewer, more creative collectibles than pointless ones. DOOM/DOOM Eternal does this perfectly.

EcoShifter
As I said in the other topic, this is disappointing for a survival-based game, especially compared to other survival horror franchises like Resident Evil, Dead Space, The Evil Within, Alien Isolation, etc. Given Naughty Dog's past games and their consistent ability in conforming to industry standards, i'm 99.9% sure there will be an additional trophy pack, especially since many other games have been doing that lately: Marvel Spider-Man, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, Far Cry 5, etc. When they do it, I hope it does exactly what MSM/HZD does and have NG+ AND Grounded difficulty in the same pack. There's no need for them to have two separate packs. Edited June 10, 2020 by EcoShifter
