Have you ever been one of the first 50 achievers to earn a trophy?

Only game that I know I'm in the first 50 achievers for is Gorogoa. Apparently I was the first ever platinum achiever, in fact (European version anyway). I think it was during half term or something, I remember having the week off anyway, and just played through it the morning I bought it, the day it came out. It was a game I'd heard good things about and was looking forward to play. While it was definitely an artsy and enjoyable little puzzle game, I do think it's insanely overrated imho.

I think I might have achieved the first 50 for one or two other games as well, but I can't remember which (think one might be Repulique but not 100% certain). Doubt I'll be achieving any more any time soon since I haven't played many games at launch recently, especially not games I'd likely get the first 50 achievers for (aka, indie or not-too-popular games).

Quite a few but here are some fun ones (my Holy Trinity of Plats)

EA Sports Active 2 - 16th to achieve the plat

Tony Hawk Shred - 18th to achieve the plat...and I earn this plat 9 years ago and I am still the 24th latest achiever

Tony Hawk RIDE - unfortunately not in the top 50 but once again 9 years ago earned the plat and still the 44th latest achiever ^_^

Finally the fucking trophy that got me people bugging me for years to help them out (some have even offered me money) AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO HELP ANY OF THEM. No idea why but this trophy bugged out and it prevented people from earning it and I have never been able to help anyone as it just won't work.

Anyways, as a Playstation rep (at the time) I was given a Vita before street date. The 3 people above me are also Canadian Playstation reps :)

Once or twice. But due to the types of games I play and the fact I started gaming and trophy hunting so late in the game, it is exceedingly rare.

I’ve never really cared though or found it to be all that impressive in any way. In fact I’ve always seen it as kind of silly. For example, there’s a guy in one of my trophy hunting groups who has a ton of platinums (like over 1000) and often achieves high positions in these really obscure games. He gets really excited about this when he posts though (ex. “Wow, only the 14th person in the world to achieve this guys!”), despite the fact these are games that are extremely unknown, very short platinums, and there’s little to no competition lol.

If anything, it would probably be most impressive to be first achiever (or top 10 etc.) for a big AAA game or another popular release, as you’re at least competing with millions of other players. But the playing field is so uneven due to the privileged few out there who get advanced copies, review copies etc. and get a massive head start as a result, that it’s mostly a case of just whoever starts playing first will get to the finish line first.

I do, however, give HUGE props to the first achievers of games that are really difficult or complex, as they have to do it without the aid of guides, exploits, or strategies that have been perfected and refined by the community. If we’re talking about the first people to platinum DMC5 or Crypt of the Necrodancer or something then fuck yeah, that is incredible!!  ?

I have a few top 50 first platinums- Crysis 2 Remastered (#30), Crysis 3 Remastered (#39), Elevator Action 2 Returns S-tribute (#35), RollingGunner (#4... that being said, there are only 41 owners of the game on PSNP and 5 total PAs), and Cannon Dancer: Osman (#41).

Anyway, to me a plat is a plat, whether I am 30th or 30.000th to get it. I'm not worried at all about getting first on one.

As of writing, I have 400-something trophies with fewer than 50 achievers, so I'm first 50 in at least that many.

I've seen a few people in the thread mention being the first achiever for a plat; I don't know of an easy way to check for that, but I know I was first for at least the Vita port of Salt and Sanctuary, the PSVR2 ports of Moss and its sequel, and the NA stack of Itorah. Also had a close second for Tinykin.

Yes, in “odd” games that not a whole lot of people play, like Super Dungeon Bros, The Good Life and Slaps and Beans. There’s probably more, I don’t really keep track of them, they were just the ones that popped into my head.

It’s rare that I buy games day-1 so reaching top 50 in popular games doesn’t really happen (and also don’t have the time).

The only problem with low player count games is it’s hard to find information or a trophy guide but if something grabs me about these games I’ll play it and do my best to figure it out.

I'm second achiever on the Warface platinum. Missed out on first place by about 20 seconds. Basically, all of the trophies were obtainable at launch except for one: "win battle royale 10 times". This was because the battle royale mode wasn't released until a good month after the game came out which made it really fun because it gave everyone a chance to be first achiever as as long as you had everything else unlocked. You also got rewarded with a special gun in-game if you were one of the first 50 achievers or something. It would be cool if other games did stuff like this

A few times, usually individual trophies are somewhat easy to do for that. But in terms of platinums that's where the skill is really at.

Then there's a question of if you did easy games, I did bubsy and jets and guns, or hard games like cod infinite warfare and gems of war.

So yeah got a little resume.

Wasn't sure that I did, but it appears I have a few:

Big Bash Boom - 11 trophies, including the platinum 10th

Poker Club (PS5) - 5 trophies, including the platinum 19th

Poker Club (PS4) - 6 trophies, don't have the platinum due to a glitch, that will never get fixed 😒

Pantsu Hunter: Back to the 90s (PS5) EU - 9 trophies, including the platinum 48th
