July PS+ 2020 Lineup

You all are doing a disservice avoiding NBA 2K.

One of the better gaming experiences I have had on PS4.  Very deep game with so many modes but fun/easy to pick up.

The gambling claims are basically a result of the “hot take“ culture.  Silliness from a bunch of people who never played the game.

There is one mode that has cards to build up your team and sometimes who you get in a pack is random but whoop-dee-doo.  100% of packs I got were free so it is just a bonus anyway.

Combined with Tomb Raider and Erica, this is the best PS Plus offering I can remember.  The downside is that I already own all 3!

some people just aren't interested in sports games. great that you think the game is good but if i didn't like nba2k before i doubt it would change my mind playing this game.

I had absolutely no hopes for the 10 years anniversary line up and Sony still managed to disappoint. Tomb Raider, the game that spends more time being on sale than not, going for $8 all the time. NBA, a game that even some of the hardcore fans are starting to realise EA is just milking the franchise. And Erica, a game going often for $5, scoring alright reviews.

I consider Plus a pretty much paying to be able to play online these days, and once in a while, they will throw in a game I might play. Luckily you can get 1-year membership for $35 so no big deal there.

Even if it were a 10 games month, what difference would it make if all of them were bad?

Didn’t rise of the tomb raider receive game of the year considerations?

EA does not make the NBA 2K series.

I wouldn't say that NBA 2K20 is easy to pick up.  I bought it when it was on sale really cheaply a month or so back but though I can see it's a deep and well polished game I think it's very difficult for a newcomer such as myself.  For the life of me I can't get a handle on the defending at all.  Every time the opposing team attack they pretty much always score a basket as I literally can't seem to do anything to stop them.  I've never played a basketball game before so that of course doesn't help but i think someone coming in to it in the same boat as myself would also struggle massively with the defending.  Don't want to knock it too much though as it does seem like it would be a top game for an experienced player or a big basketball fan.

Fair points.  You can always play off-ball defense until you get the hang of it.  Have the CPU guard your opponent with the ball as you switch to a player who is covering someone without the ball.

Usually I don't complain, but I already have Rise of the Tomb Raider...(who doesn't game has been on sale several time for way less than 10 dollars) I already have Erica.

While 2k20 I love me some basketball, but isn't this the worst 2k for a long time? fans of 2k have been complaining for years. 2k21 is right at the corner. Bad choice.

NBA2K20. Game is a blatant micro transaction cash grab that has it's reveal trailer looked more like a casino then a actual basketball game. The PR for now is to spam the Playstation channel with ultimate team players. The game has been on sale for like 5E already multiple times. The game might be good, but I am not going to try it out due to no interest and the ethical side of things.

Rise of the tomb raider. You know that game which got a sequel already. Yea we putting the old version that has been on sale for like a million times already. I generally expected to see shadow of the tomb raider. Though I highly recommend the game, it is great! Unfortunately this is one of the few times I already have a game.

Erica. I didn't follow this game much, but I love FMV games, so I will try this game as well.

Definitely not the best month, though it is fine

I don't have to play the game to see the gambling side of things if they are advertising it to me :0

Honestly, I never dislike the PS+ lineups cause I will pretty much take anything BUT considering this was the 10th anniversary this was a very wack lineup. Only 3 games? Giving us Tomb Raider was the right choice, I suppose we all saw a sports game coming but NBA isn't really that popular and Erica is just kind of underwhelming to receive as the 10th anniversary celebration.

I expected more than 3 games cause 10th anniversary and PS5 coming out soon. This is not a bad lineup but just underwhelming. It doesn't really feel like a celebration, you feel me?

I already own Tomb Raider and Erica, although have yet to start on either, and have no interest in real-life sports so have no reason to check out a sports game.

It's a good month for anyone who doesn't already own these games, but I at least can take comfort in the fact that my backlog will not grow any larger...... until August, at least...

Seems like a pretty good month to me.  I don't have any of these and have some interest in playing Tomb Raider and the NBA game.  Overall, it's a good PS Plus backlog building month.  Not sure when or if I'll play these, but it's nice to have more options.

In my opinion, considering that it's a 20th anniversary celebration of a PlayStation service, I think a major PS title franchise would have served as much better choice (even if it's a former PS-exclusive one), to highlight the PlayStation focus. Like Crash Bandicot, God of War, Rayman, Spyro, Uncharted (Lost Legacy is a greatest hit, but yet has to be a Plus), etc.

Granted, considering that Tomb Raider series were PS exclusive for long time on PS1 & PS2, Rise of Tomb Raider may not be that bad of a choice for the celebration, although I think base game Shadow of Tomb Raider would've been a better pick as the definite version was on sale for $20 recently.

Other two titles don't 'speak' PlayStation to me, however.

I'm actually pretty happy with all 3, although I'm definitely going to be in the minority.

After having played 2K17,18&19 I'd decided I was going to give 2K20 a miss, but getting it as part of my PS+ is great. I'll play that now.

Tomb Raider is a series that I've never tried before but it somewhat interests me so now I can give it a go and if I don't end up liking it then it's no big deal.

Erica looks really interesting too so I'm pretty sure I'll give that a play also!
