TheOiler19
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer anywhere. If you own a game on PS4 which has Play Link and requires a mobile phone / tablet to play multiplayer, can a Vita be used as a device?
dottyduke1
The Vita doesn't offer the apps required for Play Link unlike mobile devices and tablets. It would have been wise for them to add it but they didn't. Edited July 4, 2020 by dottyduke1

The smart thing to do would have been to add some kind of support for them but Sony couldn't be bothered, thus you will need either a Mobile Phone or a Tablet if you want to play any of these games.
TheOiler19
Thanks both, was afraid that may be the case. Not really thinking of youngsters who may not have mobiles or tablets yet. Never mind.
Djeheuty
It would make sense, but Sony doesn’t even know the Vita exists anymore...

It’s cheaper to give an old phone to them than to buy a dedicated gaming device. But you’d think Sony would enable PlayLink on the Vita regardless.
Lord_Bane999
Phone only as some have mentioned but you may need a rooted android or jailbroken Apple device now to use these apps. Due to some have been removed from marketplace. Their still playable just if you never installed them before they were removed you will need to find an external link to then and install them manually
