I knew Ratalaika released quite a few titles but I never realised it was this many!
 

Do you think it will get to the stage where Ratalaika games will simply oversaturate the market to the point that people will get sick of buying so many releases and their sales will begin to suffer?
 

Or do you think there will always be plenty of people wanting to buy every release for easy/fast trophies?

I think Ratalaika sales will diminish over time.

 

In Blu-Ray and gaming forums I visit, more and more people are saying they are being more thoughtful about their purchases and saving money due to COVID-19 and being unsure where things will go next.

People have, most of them anyway, forgotten what trophies was originally about(accoplishments) and nowadays flood their profiles with 60 minutes or less plats and quadra stacks. They just want numbers and dont care what games are on their profiles. To answer your question, Ratalaika will keep doing what they do, because most people cant stop themselves from buying their way to trophies.

I have bought a few of their games but I am determined I am not going to fill my profile with their games. Once in a while I may play one. I am not going to create additional accounts to get the stacks.

 

Personally I don't care what people do with their time and money. If they want all these easy plats, then that is up to them. 

 

 

As long as people will but them, they will continue to put them out. I am wondering if they are already planning their PS5 games.

I will always buy their games. Fast and fun games which can offer until 6 (8 for Distraint) platinums for each game. It's just perfect.

Do you really think they are making all these games? They are just porting them. 

 

I say more power to them. At least most of the games are $5 each and support cross-buy. There are so many indie games nowadays that charge $20 to $30 for a few hours of gameplay, it's nice to see some games for cheap. I will say that  Ratalaika games are the ones that have caused me to stop caring about getting platinums from other regions. I still intend to get the Vita plats at some point though.

That's quite a bit of profit since most of those games are cheaper on PC and they also publish on the Xbox One. Yes, they're not making millions, but they're obviously making money. I hope the developers are getting a nice share of the profit.

They are easy and fast to plat, but still, some of these games are actually good. I really enjoyed Red Bow, Just Ignore Them and My Big Sister by Stranga Games. I'd play them even if they had no trophies at all (or just a couple of bronze ones). I think, Ratalaika is doing a good job porting those little indies, but I agree that they shouldn't have plats.

Just because you don’t like the trophy list design, doesn’t make the games bad. They didn’t make any of the games, they Ported them for a bunch of PC indies. Tired of this attitude.

Unless if you only use their games to up the plat count for the capstone of your true Platinum milestones, then I'm pretty much not going to flood my profile with easy plats. Like how I compare: 100+ Plats with nothing more than a multitude of stacks from Ratalaika or easy games like VNs is never going to be the same as +100 Plats from regular games. I digress, I suppose. It's up to the player choice.

Ratalaika is a publisher. There is a big cost to being able to publish a game on the PS4 that is a barrier for a lot of developers. Ratalaika works with indie developers to get their games up to speed and handle the publishing aspect of the release. Having quick and easy trophies is a valid way to sell your game. These indie developers are able to earn some money while getting that valuable experience specifically because of Ratalaika. I've never understood the people who complain about fellow trophy hunters buying their games. There's nothing wrong with supporting indie while also feeling good about the trophy dings.

Unfortunately, they stopped supporting the Vita, so the only reason I had to buy their games is no longer there. I don’t have any interest in playing these types of games on the PS4; every time I bought them was to play them, primarily, on the Vita, as they are pretty fun there. I still appreciate that they cared about the Vita for so long.

It's not like Zelda, but it's a good game, it's Crossbuy ( 2 Platinums for 1 Price) and it makes fun. But it's a very long Ratalaika-Platinum, you'll need 3 hours.

I also have some of their plats, but have actually enjoyed the games for the most part.  League of Evil and Devious Dungeons I found to be quite fun.  There were some that were definitely let downs, but now I just make sure I watch some gameplay before I purchase.  They can be a nice breakup between harder/longer games.

Exactly. After grinding for weeks (or months) for one specific trophy, sometimes it's nice to just pop a bunch in a short time. I try not to overdo it, but ultimately no one really cares about my profile but me so I don't worry about it too much.

 

I also use them to help manage milestones on this site or events held by another site since they're an easy way to add a certain number of trophies or plats.
