Is it coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC? Been thinking about getting the game on Switch but if it's coming to Game Pass, I could play it there. Though this would be a perfect game for portable play.

Oh, it's already appeared on Game Pass for PC. Sweet! :)

Heya friendos, be mindful that the graphics in the Definitive Edition will be worse than the original game, since it's a Switch port

At least the PC version will have 4K and variable refresh rate, don't know about the console ports but I'm pretty sure they will include higher resolution.

I know the option is there for him however I haven't seen his cutscene and I have no interest in ever seeing it. So they could have made it more of a family cutscene but I still refuse to even watch it to find out.

I watched it for you, it's not marriage.

It's about damn time. I wish the original version on ps4 had the orchestral music. I might play this eventually but I would need to wait and put some distance from me getting the platinum in the vanilla version. It was 100 hours of a game that I love but was still 100 hours.

I really hope the Japanese voice acting comes as a separate DLC for the original edition.

But, knowing how (greedy) Square Enix have become over the last few years, I can't say I'm optimistic about that.

*sigh*

Guess I'll wait for a price reduction and double dip.

According to the Japanese site, it’ll have its own list.

Great.  Looks like I'll be buying this again if it has a separate list.

So glad that the days of buying all three systems to get the full experience of a game is dying a painful death.

Exclusivity is always the bane of gaming livelihood.

One one hand I agree with you completely and on another I couldn't disagree with you more.  As far as I'm concerned first party games should always be exclusive to the platform owners who make them.  They're trying to sell people on their platform and releasing the game elsewhere is a terrible idea and an insult to the people who invested in their platform to access those exclusive games.  When it comes to third party exclusivity, I happen to be of the opinion it should never happen.

It took me like 250 hours to do everything in this game. I wanna say that I loved everything about DQ11 but at the same time I did feel like the story just kept dragging on and on. Don't know if I'll buy this yet, maybe on a sale or even better if they release it on PS5 as well.

I was thinking of at least finishing all quests but after spending literal hours spinning the casino roulette I gave up. The RNG of that quest was simply ridiculous and there is not even a trophy attached to it.

Yeah the casino was definitely the most cancerous part of DQ11 lol. Along with the Black Cup horse race in Gallopolis.

I might get it again, it would be interesting to try this 2D mode thing. Apparently SE isn't going to sell this a normal game price, it's supposed to be 30 or 40 bucks.

I'm not even done the game yet though, I'm on act 2 on 220 hours lol. If I do this again, you can be sure I won't be talking to everyone in the towns after every event. :/ I'm doing it now because it is my first playthrough, but it sure is pumping he hours in the game.

I still have the original version sealed in my shelf. This should've been a DLC, especially when you consider that the Switch version only came 1 year after the PS4 release. And now after 2 years you have to buy the game again if you want the extra content.

What else do you expect from squeenix?

The Switch version released two years after the original release.  Remember, it came out a year earlier in Japan.

Never got to play any of this series. It looks really good but whats it like jumping in on the 11th game when I never played the previous 10? Is it like Fallout where it will just make small references to previous games/timelines or is the whole thing connected?

It's more that they reference each other more than they're connected. I know that the first 3 in the series are connected to each other, 4 through 6 are connected to each other, and since then, most have just been their own separate games. You're not really going to be lost or miss much by jumping in on this one first. I'd probably say that it's the best one to start with. That being said, the Tickington sidequests in this version are where you'd see the most references to previous games in the series.
