Hey everyone! I'm trying to get patch 1.04 on ps4 for this game so I can finish off the glitched trophies, can anyone help with this please? All help will be appreciated, thank you :)

Unfortunately, the oldest backed up update is 1.09.

Cheers for the reply mate. I accidentally mistyped 1.04 instead of 1.09, but glad to hear it's doable. Can I still obtain the glitched trophies playing on patch 1.09 and switching the console off between sessions, or is it still in one run they need to be earned?

I managed to do it on Ps4, but on Ps5 I can't

Who got it on PS5 could help me?

When I try to downgrade on PS5, 3 .json appear whit several things written on the front (those who tried on ps5 must know what i'm talking about) I wanted to know which of the 3 I should change, already try 1 at a time, I've tried all 3 at the same time, same time... and it didn't work, could you help me?

Can anyone confirm or deny whether this game crashes on PS5? I'm happy to use the rest mode method as long as it doesn't crash - a lot of PS4 games seem to, on PS5.

Plat is unobtainable on latest patch. If you aren't able to downgrade the game to patch 1.09, don't bother playing because it'll be a waste of time. :)

finally have the platinum after a few years of giving up on the combat specialist trophy, ive spent well over a hundred hours  on this game because i unlocked every non dlc trophy only to realise that the last one i needed glitched out, i played the entire story about another 3 times trying to do hand to hand kills and takedowns etc only to just get nothing and luckily i found this post because i really didnt want to return to a game without any hope of doing the platinum

This is incorrect.

You can very much still obtain the platinum with the latest patch, you just cannot turn off your console or quit to the main menu of the game until you've received the flip/kill trophies or other misc. cumulative trophies as the trophy tracker resets every time you do making them impossible to get otherwise.

The work around is simple; do the trophy requirements all in one sitting or utilize rest mode on your console between sessions so the game never closes and resets your trophy progress. You still run the risk of the game crashing on you which would void the trophies but I personally found the game never crashes on PS5 if you play offline. I got the platinum a few months ago by utilizing rest mode and it did crash once because I was online and PSN went down as I was playing which immediately crashed the game. Luckily it happened after I already got the flip trophy so it didn't void anything for me. If you play offline, you're rather safe from that happening. It's certainly not unobtainable on the latest patch, it just requires some improvising.

Or you can go through all that computer jargon and try and downgrade the game to Version 1.09. I couldn't figure that crap out so I did it with Version 1.12 and it worked out just fine in the end.

Playing offline isn't a factor I'm afraid. I finished one playthrough and got a crash right after I flipped 16 racket bosses when I was online. I disconnected for my second playthrough and got about 1/3rd of the way there and just crashed. A painful experience.

What console are you playing it on though, PS4 or PS5? My experience playing it on the PS5 having done 3 playthrough's of the game in a row in 'one sitting' is that the game only crashed once in this time and that was when I was online and the PSN went down while I was playing. Offline went without a hitch as far as crashing goes but the game still has some game-breaking bugs you can run into which forces you to start your run over from scratch anyway and I ran into 2 of them. I got an infinite cutscene glitch during the prologue in one run and a black screen/game never loaded near the end of one of my runs which was devastating. The odds of the game crashing or glitching during one of your 2 runs is high enough where probably everybody doing it this way will have one of their runs ruined and you'll end up having to do a 3rd one. It just depends where and when it happens and how much time you end up wasting. If you have the patience to accept that will probably happen to you at some point then it's not too bad when it actually happens. It's like you got your mulligan out of the way and you're now free and clear (probably). I think though the power of the PS5 would greatly lessen your chances of crashes so that would be the preferred console to go for this on and it is known that playing online increases your chances of crashes so it would also be safer to play it offline. Still, nothing's a guarantee and the game can still screw you over regardless.

It was needlessly stressful though because it's something almost totally out of your control and I would never go for a platinum again on a game like this that has obviously glitched trophies and you have to jump through all these hoops just to get around them. I wouldn't recommend doing it but it's certainly possible if you have enough patience and maybe a little bit of luck on your side.

I'm playing on PS5. I'm trying again, trying to be as quick as I possibly can to get through it. I won't let this best me. ?

Good luck; I hope you get it especially because you have an awesome profile - some excellent games on there.

I tried to do it and when it crashed near the end I was so angry I instantly uninstalled. I had the opportunity to get it by subscribing to PS Now  which at one point didn't have the trophy breaking patch, but I didn't subscribe on principle. In hindsight, I wish I had seeing as I have PS Now anyway.

Thank you for the compliment. ?

I just got the final bugged trophy. I had some more luck on my 3rd playthrough and powered through it. For those on PS5, I do believe disconnecting from your network while playing might reduce the likelihood of crashes. Not impossible (as I had one) but probably better to be safe. A few things worth noting about the cumulative trophies:

Flambe: this one is more tedious than it sounds but there is a mission at the beginning called 'The Home Fires Burn' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsOZ60soXh8&ab_channel=PowerPyx) where you can farm the kills with checkpoint reloads. It's not explained really well in the video but you kind of have to aggro the enemies outside and listen out for one of them shouting that they will throw a Molotov at you. The annoying thing is that it's a different enemy each time so you just need to be lucky. The video says you need the weak pistol but just hit the enemy anywhere on the body with any weapon while they're in the throwing animation and you'll get it. Reload your checkpoint as soon as you get one and do it 9 more times. No issue with it as long as your game doesn't crash.

Takedown trophies: You just need some luck on these ones, in the hopes that your game doesn't crash. Sneak kill every enemy you can for the duration of your playthrough and hopefully, your 300 takedowns will pop. It's a grindy one because it'll slow you down a bit but I got the last takedown trophy at around the halfway point of my first playthrough.

Money trophies: There is a farmable location that I 100% recommend because it's a bit disheartening when you've almost accumulated $500,000 and then your game crashes... One of the last racket boss missions will be with an NPC named Big Jim McCormick. Once you begin the mission, interrogate the 2 informants and then head to the destination highlighted in the video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2WDckFyRVI&ab_channel=adriand12). Accumulate enough until your Baby, You're a Rich Man trophy pops, and then once you're sure you have the same amount of money saved, call for supplies and buy every weapon and upgrade available for the Hole in Your Pocket trophy.

As for the racket bosses, all I can say is you need a slice of good fortune. Killing all racket bosses is slightly quicker because it doesn't require you to wiretap the district, but try to speed through the game if you're committed to the task. I got to the final racket boss on my second run in about 6-7 hours.

I already achieved the trophy for sparing the racket bosses before Hangar 13 broke it, thank goodness. As for the 'kill all racket bosses' run, did you utilise the rest mode feature or nah?

I used rest mode once while I slept last night. Honestly, it's hard to tell if using rest mode is ultimately beneficial for avoiding crashes, but I guess it's all just random. I played for about 3 hours last night, used rest mode and then finished it up in about 4 hours today. All while offline too.

Thanks, I'll give this another go then once I've finished COD Vanguard. Hopefully, it will be better the second time around.

I installed v1.09, loaded up the game, and am stuck on the 'Checking additional content' screen.  Anyone else run into this error?  It's been 'checking' for 10 mins and never progresses to the main menu.

Edit: Complete reinstall (total pain in the ass) and it completes the check now.  However, when I start a new game, it gives me an error message saying 'The data for the following application is corrupted.  Delete the application from the PS4, and then download it again from [Library] on the home screen'.  I guess this game really doesn't want me to play it.

Edit 2: 4 installs later and it finally lets me play.  This time I deleted and redownloaded Charles and started from scratch, installed base game, loaded into game, exited, installed 1st DLC, loaded game, exited, etc... installed DLC 2, 3, 4 and 5 and after verifying the game would load after each I'm now able to play.  Only odd thing is I seem to have 4 redundant save files with the same timestamp.  Not sure if that's normal, but I'm kinda too scared to delete them and see if the game will load again, lol.

Final Edit: Platinum and 100%!  3 weeks later, I really took my time with my first playthrough (Flip) and enjoyed the game and did everything, even non-trophy related things.  Had zero problems along the way.  Closed the game app and turned off my console every day (sometimes multiple times per day) and no issues with any trophies popping.  v1.09 is the way to go!

So something really weird happened. I started off attempting this offline on the PS5 using backwards compatibility. The game does warn that you might experience some strange behaviour when you play it on PS5. Anyway, I started playing and the trophy for collecting Sammy's stuff popped. Turns out it created a whole new trophy list when playing offline. Playing online again got my PS5 to remember my Mafia 3 trophy list and so the new one disappeared and the old one showed again and the cards also updated to reflect the trophies earned. I'm gonna continue playing online just in case. I really hate Hangar 13.

ETA: playing the game online does lead to stability issues though. I've noticed that when I disconnect from the internet the loading screens don't get stuck.

Finally got it!  Playing offline on the more powerful PS5 and utilising rest mode at several intervals so that the console didn't overheat was the key. The game has a tendency to crash in Frisco Fields so I was also extra careful not to do anything that would require too much of a workout from my console or the game (i.e. tried to go in stealth, didn't use grenades or explosions if it could be helped etc.) I turned my network on shortly after acquiring the trophy and surprise, surprise it crashed lol . Damn near corrupted my save file too as I had to boot the game twice to escape the black screen off death.

I remember with my first attempt at this trophy the game always made my PS4 sound like it was about to take off, so for those who haven't been lucky I would strongly recommend playing this on the PS5 offline and use rest mode periodically to give the console a break. There is one reoccurring bug you'll run into whenever you take over a racket (you'll know it when you see it ) as backwards compatibility is not supported but this bug can be fixed by reloading a checkpoint.

Just need to get the DLC trophies now which should be easier as nothing is missable.
