I did a run on 1.00 and game crashed and no trophies. I did it in one sitting too/left the game on and controller plugged in when I was idled.

But on 1.00 do stats actually save and carry over playthrojgh as guides ay?it could save having to replay the ENTIRE game.

also, while working out I had a thought. Couldn’t I back up my save after the whole introductory bit, before taking anything over? None of that counts for the glitched trophies? That way if the game crashes, I don’t need to replay all of that.

According to the trophy guide 1.00 doesn’t guarantee it will unlock and don’t think it saves stats as I had to  go and download 1.07 for it to work.   People that got it would have gotten the day 1 patch when released.  You can try on 1.00 but it didn’t work for me.  I started from the 1.00 save before you kill Merle and reloaded those saves  for second run.  I did delete profile save before  starting  my first playthrough.

Well redownloading 60 gif is a chore. I’ll back my save up before killing Merle and use that if it crashes.

This is what I was doing, but after 6 tries I've thrown in the towel, as least for now. I only need the two trophies for killing/flipping rackets but I just can't get the game to make it through without crashing - tried one session, reloading checkpoints every time I assign a racket... no luck.

I will cross my fingers for a patch and come back to it if that ever happens. Really infuriating.

A fellow told me that crashing might be caused from overheating of the console.

I tried to get No Lose Ends three times in one sitting, and i didnt use the Rest mode, and the game crash every time.

Im not positive if that is the cause of the crashes, but i will make a run these days and try using the rest mode and see what happens.

After all, almost every day someone get the Platinum of this game.

Game never crashed with 1.09 and had it running over night while sleeping (didn’t put in rest mode) but did with 1.00 & 1..12

i can't imagine doing it for 6 tries. i went balls to the wall today for 10 hours and just cleared district 5/9.  figners crossed and hoping to hell when i reboot it just keeps going smoothly. its an aboslute nightmare having to grind so hard, if you want it done in 2 days.

And for no reason as I got to start French ward stuff, the ♥ game crashes. Fucking the ♥s at hanger 13.

figured I’d carry on and just mop stuff up. Interesting, when I did the money glitch, I had 69xxx in safe and 12xxx in wallet. When I hit 92xxx in wallet after rebooting, I got the 150k trophy

So... you got any confirmation on this?
Yesterday I was trying and got crashed at 5/9 districts. But I was playing for like 5 hours, maybe was overheat indeed.
Pretty discouraging, but I'll give another try making breaks if that helps

The trophy Trap Game Strong glitched on me when I was trying to do it normally. Must of fulfilled the requirements at least five - six times before I decided to turn off the online on my PS4. Somehow having online active was making it glitch.

But once I got to 10, the trophy popped.

Mafia 3.... love the setting, the characters, the late 1960s era in which the game is set, but it has a lot of technical issues. Game not performing all that great, plus the two playthroughs just to save and kill the racket bosses was a stupid idea.

I don’t think overheating crashes the game. The two occasions mine crashed, I couldn’t even hear my console

Fans going ham. I also played for 9 straight hours to kill all bosses yesterday, with no crash.

l had  1.00 crashed, 1.12 crashed numerous times but 1.09 never crashed and left it idling on all versions.  So Your lucky if it doesn’t crash on 1.12.

i had to go like hell, because 1.12 seems to really risk a crash around the 12 hour mark of play time. about 30 minutes after my flip trophy it crashed, and that was around 13 hours of play.

Well in the end it comes down to luck only then. I will finish my first playthrough getting the non glitched trophies and maybe one day I come back to finish the game on one playthrough of 11/12 hours

This is gonna be probably long, but I can finally confirm a method that works when game cooperates. The only thing that can ruin your run is the game crashing. Let's get into details. This works on 1.12 (the latest update), witht he digital version (downloaded for free with Ps+ a few months ago).

"Glitched Trophies" list obtainable with this method

  • Cash in Hand (having 150k$)
  • Baby, You're a Rich Man (earn 500k$)
  • Family (Loyal state with three bosses)
  • Hole in Your Pocket (Spending 500k$)
  • The New Boss (flip 16 racket bosses)
  • No Loose Ends (Kill all racket bosses)
  • Wrecker (10 vehicles takedowns)
  • Combat Specialist (300 kill via takedown)
  • Shh, shh (100 stealth takedowns)
  • Closed Casket (50 brutal takedowns)
  • Flambé (10 kill with ennemie dropping their molotov)

Why are they glitched?

From other topics, forums and my own experience with the game (I'm on my 7th playtrough), It seems that trophies using a internal counter on the save doesnt work properly, and it resets everytime the game is left. For exemple, if you earn 300k$, leave the game, and earn another 200k$, the game thinks you only earned 200k$, because the first 300k$ got reset. This being said, all the trophies glitched have a counter of some sort.

How to "fix" the problem - what you can do and not do

Ok, we all know the game crash whenever it wants.

The easy solution is to have Ps Now. I cannot confirm this by my own, but apparently streaming the game doesnt glitch the trophies: therefore you can leave the game at anypoint. This does not work anymore as the streamed version recently got updated.

The other way you can earn those trophies is by doing the whole playthrough in one sitting. Yes one sitting, but hold up; let me explain. By leaving the game to the main menu/exiting the app/shuting down the ps4, the counter will be reset. The way you can survive this is by pausing the game, and putting the ps4 on sleep mode. This way, the counter are still active in the memory, and won't reset. Make sure to, before starting a new game: close the game, disconnect the internet (apparently this helps), delete all previous save files of Mafia III, and then start your run. Once you reach the objective of the trophy in that game session, the trophy will pop. If it doesnt (looking at you Flambé and Wrecker), keep doing some more. They will be unlocked. Also, reloading a checkpoint is permitted. Killing yourself does the same tricks. I skipped all cutscenes in my run.

Notable glitches + infos

I havent got any of these, but I think it'd be great if it is here. Theres the glitch about southdown, if you give it to Burke, the diary say you gave it to Vito, and vice-versa. This doesnt matter for the trophies (more info in the next section about Family). Once you get the Gambling racket, the game crash for some people. Leave this racket for last (make sure to have every other trophies - except Family (more to come) - in case it does crash). For the first Burke Racket: Point Verdun, just before the car arriving cinematic, reload the checkpoint. This seems to work and avoid the crash (confirmation needed here). Another one, when done with the money objective of a racket, you have to go talk to the person giving you info. If the game doesnt let you continue (doesn't ask you if you want to proceed, like nothing happens), reload the checkpoint. Finally, the mini map bug can be fixed sometimes when dying or reloading the checkpoint. Just a minor incovinience.

Tips for Flambé, Wrecker, Family and Money trophies

  • Flambé: Right after killing Baka (haitian, beginning of the game), ennemies will start thowing molotov. Perfect occasion to grind here. After 2 or 3 kills or halway through reaching the getaway car, reload the checkpoint and restart until you get it
  • Wrecker: once you have the ability to spawn cars, spawn the armored police car. Start a police chase in the bridge (easier), Press L1 to toggle to tyres, and shoot them police tyres until they flip. Spam this until you get it
  • Cash in Hand, Baby, You're a Rich Man, Hole in Your Pocket: Once the French Ward unlocked, talk to Jim McCormick to start the drug racket. Go talk to the informant beside the church. He should tell you about a warehouse. Once done, you should be able to see ennemies cars and the ability to follow/kill them. Now the money glitch is exploitable: https://youtu.be/4pi4RkZSMqs Go to that location and do as the video says. It's still useable, as I did it on July 25th with the latest update. Beware, to not die or to end the mission (by talking again to Jim McCormick when the Damage is done), as the money will stop spawning. Once at 500k$, spend everything in one go, so you are sure to get the trophy.
  • Family: Finally, make sure to give both racket to the associate that will earn the district. And give it after giving one to the other two. I recommand this order: Cassandra, Vito, Burke. Doesnt matther which districts you do before which, and which one you go to who (even if the diary bugs for Southdown, as I gave it to Burke and it said it was Vito's. It didn't change anything). Once you give 3 districts to everybody, and only then, this is only time you can start doing secondary missions. 5 each. Gotta do them all on "one sitting". My game crashed between once finishing Flipping (New Boss) and just before giving my last district to Burke. I continued playing and I actually got Family. My point is, You need to give everybody 3 districts, no matter if the game crash (unless you want to do others trophies..), and then do all secondary missions in one go.

TL;DR

Disconnect internet, delete save files, play the game without leaving the game. Reloading a checkpoint and putting the ps4 on sleep mode is permitted. Family requires to give 3 districts to everyone, and then do all secondary missions in one go (or leaving by putting the PS4 on sleep mode). Most bugs can be fixed while reloading a checkpoint. If the Game crash, every stats reset to zero, so the racket related trophies are over and you have to restart a run.

Big thanks to everybody that contributed on the other topics and forums. I did my possible to bring everything in one post. It took me 7 playthrough to finally get them trophies. No Loose End is my last one for the platinum. Keep it up guys, with a bit of luck the Plat is obtainable.

Edit: Just got the platinum. It's doable with some willpower and a bit of luck.

Currently getting “No loose ends” trophy with this offline method (1.12 update). Just curious cxool how many playthroughs did you do with this method on the latest patch until you received the ‘no loose ends’ trophy.

I poke my head in here every week to see how people are doing with this. I gave up with a couple trophies left after 6 playthroughs... hoping for a patch.

Good luck to you all!

My hope is that since Mafia I is now released, they have the resources to go back and fix this.  They fixed it before (only to break it again by releasing the definitive edition).  We’ll see...

Mine as well, I opened a case with 2K support and they claim that they are indeed working on a fix. We shall see.

I can't imagine what was to try 6 times of this. I finished one time and can't stand anymore the same repetitive missions over and over again. Hoping (but not too confident about it) for a patch too

Once I did my research and actually tried with this method, I did New Boss and No Loose Ends on 4 playthroughs. It crashed twice during New Boss, and It happened to work the first time I tried No Loose Ends
