How to obtain glitched trophies

I really wish they hadn't messed with this thing in the name of 'improving' it beyond the stable patch we had before. Literally no one was asking for that.

I said it before and I'll say it again: players shouldn't be required to resort to downgrading their games to navigate around glitches, be they related to trophies, gameplay, or crashes. Unfortunately this is exactly what happened with Mafia III after version 1.09, and unless you're very lucky and finish the game twice in a single session without any crashes, the current version is broken.

 

Good luck everyone who is still trying to pop the glitched trophies, your best bet is to downgrade to 1.09 by following the tutorial in this thread, and play offline the whole time. I managed to pop all DLC trophies on the latest version while playing online but counters for some of the base game trophies related to informants, racket bosses, money spent, and side missions all glitched for me. As I already mentioned, Hangar 13 is on my blacklist and I won't buy any game from them unless it's 100% glitch-free. Seeing as the remasters of Mafia 1 and 2 were also reported to have performance issues and possibly glitched trophies, I'm not holding my breath.

After a long journey I received the platinum trophy yesterday. I followed the guide to downgrade or update to 1.09 and got all the trophies I missed (played permanently offline, turned off the console in between). I can therefore confirm that the following trophies are obtainable with this method:

 

• No Loose Ends
• Baby, You're a Rich Man (I got the money in a single playthrough, so I can't confirm whether the trophy can be obtained over several savegames)
• Family
• The New Boss
• Combat Specialist

I can only recommend to everyone who tries this game to upgrade to version 1.09. This will save you a lot of frustration and trouble. The update/downgrade guide looks complicated at first glance, but it is very well written and the steps are really quite simple.

Hi guys, luckily i read this thread recently and since i do wanna play this game eventually i checked my sonsole and the version i have i 1.09. Does this mean that if i turn off acess to internet on my console, i will be able to attain this plat without any problems?

If the game version is 1.09, you shouldnt have any problems attainig the plat.

Just turn off your internet connection, as you said, or when the notification for the update appear, pause it, and you should be good!

Guess il have to do a 3th play trough since no loose ends glitches even on 1.09 I'll beat it without turning off console now

 

 

Got the trophie after killing Merle jackson in my 3th play trough. 1.09 Is the way to go

Yeah this basically means they have it on their bug list (probably using JIRA to track bugs) but it's low priority. 'We are aware of the issue' means that a fix is at the mercy of how the company QA team prioritizes their current bugs and issues.

And I used the .json as my part link for step 11.  

 

It didn't work the first time for me, but once I cleared the map remote with clt-alt-M and remapped again.  It started to work like described in the walkthrough.  I believe the download size for me was 14.76ish  GB from version 1.00.  If you have anymore questions please ask, I want to help as many people as I can since it doesn't seem like hangar 13 or 2k games is going to fix the issue.

i tried directly copying your link, but you seem to be from the US, and i'm from europe, so i cannot start the download of the game.

 

when i try to download the delta patch from 1.09 myself, the only thing it gives me is a .pkg file that i cannot seem to be able to open on my widnows pc.

 

Please help

If anyone here tried this method, can you tell me how long it took? I'm guessing maybe 10 hours.

Before starting I'd like to make sure I have enough free time to complete it.

Took me on average two evenings, you can put the PS4 on sleep mode. I speedran it, every rackets going head first straight to the boss running like no tomorrow.

I think I’ll be boycotting their games from now on as well. I’ve never done something like that before, but after seeing with my own eyes how indifferent they are to the multitudes of players reporting these glitches, I’m a bit disgusted with them. I’ve sent their support staff a couple tickets at this point too and they are completely useless. I would not be the least bit surprised if these glitches remain neglected permanently.

 

It’s a damn shame too, because I’ve been itching to play this game for a long time, especially these last few months. I’m really happy to hear how many people are finding success with the downgraded patch method, so I think I’ll try this myself in the very near future so I can finally play this game. Thanks to everybody in here for posting updates and sharing your progress.

The Downgrading procedure was surprisingly easy do. I’m finally on version 1.09, unfortunately I still need 2 more playthroughs though because I need to flip and kill all the racket bosses.

 

I need to play the game offline twice now because every time I connect to the internet the PS4 tries to download the update to 1.12 even though I have automatic updates turned off.

 

edit: I’ve seen some people asking if it is possible to downgrade without a physical disc. I downgraded from 1.12 to 1.09 on the digital version. I didn’t have a physical copy.

I have already downgraded so can’t make a video, sorry. But if you have any questions feel free to ask...the guide wasnt hard to follow in my opinion, but as you say, it may not be easy for everyone.

Hi guys, I made a recording for you. I finally managed to get 1.09 on my PS5, so I created a video showing the process with my PS4.

 

In the video I skip steps 4-5-6, I assume you have setup PS4 with your IP address and port 8888 in proxy settings. I just demonstrate usage of Charles. Hope it helps. I think the most important part is to click "CTRL+ALT+M" to verify your mapping.

It's true that if you launch your PS4 online it will try to download update 1.12 but if you pause that update, you can play online freely without it downloading without your knowledge even if you turn off your console and return the next day.

Yeah, that’s what I have been doing too. I’ve only got a few trophies to go. Can’t wait to be done with this game so I can finally delete it.

So, I managed to get 2 successful attempts in a row (Flip/KIll) with the 1.12 version (Disc). I'll list the things that I did and noticed, although most of them are already listed.

 

1) Played totally offline

2) Did not touch a single side mission (Cassandra, Vito, Burke) and their partners. Also i did not trigger any DLC

3) Played with my window open since it is winter here so my ps wasn't overheating, mine is old and the fan makes a lot of noise, so having a cold environment helped

4) While driving I stayed under 90 mph. I have the feeling that driving too fast can increase a chance of a crash

5) Reloaded a checkpoint when i had the feeling that the game was going to crash (glitchy radar, game lagging)

6) did not use REST MODE, it made me fail everytime so i played 9-10 hours straight 

 

Never completed a game so glitchy, not a pleasent experience but with luck and willpower you can do it. Good Luck everyone

After using this guide to revert back to 1.09, I’ve just completed my Kill play through.

 

all trophies popped as they should have, and I played it with multiple shutdowns, turning the console on and off was absolutely fine 

 

onto the last trophy for my 100% to flip all bosses

 

will be glad to be done with it
