How to obtain glitched trophies

I'd like to share my experience. In the first instance, I installed Mafia III Definitive Edition (as I bought a collective physical release of Mafia Trilogy), so the latest version of the game I played was 1.12. 

 

I wanted to obtain the platinum trophy by doing two playthroughs - a "peaceful" playthrough and a "brutal" one. 

That being said, I followed a "peaceful" route, so I completed the story and flipped all 16 racket bosses, spared 15 informants, completed all side missions for Lincoln's underbosses, and distributed districts equally to them. Unfortunately, the game crashed with blue-screen once (or even twice, I can't recall now), but once for sure during the killing Pops Holland in Tickfaw Harbor. 

 

Trophies unlocked: 
- "Live Another Day" to recruit 15 informants
- "Trust" to reach the Loyal state with one Underboss
-  "We're in This Together" to keep all Underbosses alive until "Yet Here We Are"
- ".45 in My Hand" / "I Need a Favor" / "IRA Don't Ask" to complete all side missions for all under-bosses

 

Trophies glitched:
- "Hole in Your Pocket" to spend at least $500,000
- "Baby, You're a Rich Man" to earn $500,000
- "Family" to reach the Loyal state with all three Underbosses
- "The New Boss" to flip 16 racket bosses
- "Wrecker" to execute 10 vehicle takedowns
- "Combat Specialist" to kill 300 enemies via Takedowns

- "Shh, shh" to perform 100 Stealth Takedowns on enemies

- "Closed Casket" to perform 50 Brutal Takedowns

 

The last Saturday, I downgraded the game to version 1.09, following the guide here on the forum. I spent the whole Sunday, and Monday-Tuesday after work, to repeat exactly what I have done previously on version 1.12, so I followed a "peaceful" route again, and then all glitched trophies mentioned above unlocked for me! No issues, no crashes, no blue-screens, no trophy-related glitches. All these 8 trophies popped up. As prevention, I keep my PS4 Pro disconnected from the Internet all the time, but I have no clue whether it matters or not.

 

Now I have done 1/3 of a "brutal" route, so hopefully, I will obtain the platinum trophy this week - so in fact, this is my third playthrough and I'm going nuts... The gameplay isn't so bad as some people complain, but while one needs to play two or three times, it gets so pathetically repetitive... Then I'm going to continue playing on version 1.09 to finish all three DLCs.

I got my platinum trophy. I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to this thread, thanks to you guys I could downgrade the game to version 1.09 and obtain all the glitched trophies that I listed above.

 

Now I need to obtain all three DLC trophies.

It's been three years since I platinumed the game. As much as I can remember, what I did was no wiretaps and just kill those Racket Bosses. And make sure those bosses are said/indicated to be dead on the log screen (I forgot the name of it). I did it on patch 1.09.

Please help me. I follow the guide and the video guide on another post and still says downloading 1.12 even mapped to the 1.09 json.

I have fisical edition.

 

EDIT: SOLVED. Even saying that is 1,12 downloading, i download all and in information on the game icon says 1.09. I finally can play the game.

I downgraded to 1.09 and maybe in 4 runs I should platinum it. Too bad that this problem is not mentioned in the guide, perhaps it would be appropriate to report it

I was the same as you and got the platinum using this method on version 1.12. Delete all your save data, log out from 2K account, disconnect your PS4/5 from network, start a new playthrough and play the entire game offline and without closing the app. Just pause and put in rest mode in between sessions. Kill the Gambling racket boss LAST. If the game doesn’t crash from when you kill the first boss until the last, I guarantee you will get the platinum. Luckily I only had one crash BEFORE I killed my first boss, but luckily never after that.

This platinum is driving me crazy. Nothing is known about a patch for glitched trophies? I take 5 attempts and the error always comes up. It's complete nonsense.

The devs don’t give a shit. These trophies have been broken for a long, long time and many people (including myself) have spoken with them or sent in support tickets. I’ve pretty much lost hope for a fix.

 

Luckily though, the platinum is obtainable if you follow the instructions in this thread for downgrading your game and playing offline. But you’ll have to do another playthrough for most of the trophies that glitched on you.

I have the physical version of the game. I have read on the forum that both version 1.12 and 1.09 have worked for some people. Do you know which would be the more reliable method of the two? I see that in playing offline and doing it in one go, everyone agrees. I have a saved file just after the prologue. Do I have to start from the very beginning again? Sorry for so many questions, but idk what else i can do with this crap (i like the game, but in terms of trophies its a nightmare)

To be drastically increase your odds of success, you should follow the instructions to downgrade to 1.09. Then disconnect your PS4 from the internet and play through the game offline the entire way. When you have to get off or take a break, just put the PS4 in rest mode rather than closing the game application, as you want to try to run through it all in one go to be safe.

 

If your save file is only just after the prologue, I would recommend starting a brand new file just to be safe since you will only lose a few minutes of time. Better than playing that file to the end only to find out it didn’t work or something equally shitty.

 

Good luck man. There’s more information in this thread that is worth reading if you scroll back through the comments. Many people have managed to unlock these pain in the ass trophies by following this method.

I missed something... I have no idea how to downgrade the patch to the 1.09 version. I saw a tutorial in this thread about how downgrade a patch of FF. Idk if its that tutorial. There is no a specific one for mafia 3? (Disk version if could be possible)

Thank you so much for your post. I just got my platinum today and wanted to confirm that the method still works as of June 17, 2021. 
 

I had problems with "The New Boss" and "No Loose Ends" trophies which didn't pop after I completed the requirements. I decided to delete all my save files and start a new game. I played offline with the latest patch (v1.12), did everything in one sitting, and it worked.

I downgraded 2 months ago and it worked perfectly, the links just checked them and they are fine, take out the translator and copy and paste the link on Charles
