One more platinum trophy down. Grinding out the last few weapon orbs in Secret of Mana took a while, and then Spelunky 2 came out, so I didn't get nearly as much done for the challenge as I wanted.

 

Alphadia Genesis has been decent JRPG "junk food" so far. I should finish off the plat today or tomorrow. Still plugging away at Avengers, too. Being able to turn down the motion blur now is nice, and it looks like the bugged trophies are fixed. I'll miss the quick leveling trick in the "Day of the Remains" mission though. I knew I should've maxed everyone out while I could. Alas.

 

I didn't start Control or Titanfall 2 like I had planned. I'll probably save them for later. It was nice getting through a few quick games to start the challenge, but now I'm kind of in the mood to tackle something more substantial. I'm saving the RE games and Bloodborne for October, so maybe Sekiro. Not sure yet. I'll decide after I complete Alphadia.

First (unofficial) update, since MidnightDragon either missed my sign up, sign ups are closed or I'm not allowed to participate (my money is on the first option).

 

Mad Max 0% -> 18% (13 / 50 trophies)

As a lot of people currently do, I'm also trying to get Mad Max done before the servers are closed at Halloween.

I really enjoy the gameplay, I like the fist fights and the car combat is quite nice too.

 

But the constant fear that any of the stat trackers might gltich and I have to start over again is ... hampering my enjoyment.

I don't know what's the better way of doing it, wait til the online challenge (that requieres the player to NOT play the game) is finished, or work on locations and other challenges so I can get another run if anything glitches... 

There's also the trophy for having 10k scrap in the inventory, which means I can't really buy as many upgrades as I want to, if I don't want to grind on other vehicles later, if that's even possible after cleaning up the map.

 

My overall experience with the game after the first weekend playing - I enjoy it way more than I was expecting. I can't say anything about the story or the franchise, I've only played until reaching the second stronghold yet, and I've never seen the movies, but the gameplay is simple and enjoyable. The key binding is a bit weird, I can't tell how many shells I've wasted pressing circle.

The ranked and clan trophies are boosted, so you could argue that they shouldn't really count, but sadly both game modes are dead and there's no other way (I've tried waiting for a ranked match once but left after 15min in the lobby alone).

This week I've only focused on Yakuza 0 and made some good progress. Especially on the 100% completion list, but I'm also almost done with the story of the game. I believe I'm in the last chapter and omg the story is awesome! I'll keep playing Yakuza this week, I'm really hoping that I can finish the game in this challenge, but so far so good!

Congrats on completing week 3, fellow challengers! I’m reading about a lot of trials and triumphs, both standard with trophy hunting. Let’s finish the first month strong!

 

Update #3: Another week down, and two new plats for my ever-growing collection. I included Spyro the Dragon at my brother’s behest, and boy howdy, am I glad I did! Other than a few of the flight levels - honestly, I’ll be happy to never use inverted flight controls ever again - it was a simple, fun platforming collectathon. (I may add the next two games of the Reignited Trilogy later in the challenge.) I also wanted to complete Grim Fandango Remastered before the month was up. The tank controls weren’t appreciated during my playthrough, but I really enjoyed the adult humor and dialogue options. Some of the puzzle solutions were a bit convoluted IMO, but with a walkthrough, the plat is easily within reach in an afternoon.

Alright despite my better Judgement, I settle on starting U.Marvel vs Capcom 3.

I really had my slights set on MvC Infinte, but after thinking it over.

I realize both games are prertty much dead.

So may as well play the harder game(plus it has Vergil, so cant go wrong there)

This game is most likely gonna kick my ass worse then Wolfestein 2.

But if I survive, Ill have another sub 1 plat. ?

Log 011:I havent played a fighter in a long time.

Probbly since Street Fighter V 4years ago(still need to get that plat as well)

So jumping into Im pretty rusty on inputs and such.

Also cus this is a fighter, and one hell of a time sink at that.

Its very open in how you can tackle the plat.

To achive this monster Ultra rare shiny you must do 4 of the following.

-Clear 480 mission(think of trials from Street Fighter IV but maybe not as hard?)

-Clear Acrade mode with all 48 characters.

Yes thats right, you gotta beat acrade 48times. lol

-Reach 6th Rank in Rank Mode along with playing 300 Rank Matchs(100 of those must be wins as well)

-A good amount of rando trophies as well(like beat acrade on hardest, get a shit load of points in acrade, fight all characters online, etc.)

 

With all that condent to do in such a seemily small game, I came up with my own idea how to go abut this

 

1.Clear all missions with 3characters(1capcom, 2marvel > 1marvel, 2capcom. in that order)

2.Playtru acade mode consisting of team of the 3characters just cleared in mission mode(Ill be doing on these runs on hardest just as a nice bonus)

3.Repeat till every character is done in mission/arcade mode.

 

Im going to proceed with this game plan, as I think it will be alot more fun to me personally

 

With that said I got a good seesion in tonight, and was able to clear 9

missions with Wovrine.

Got so close to clearing M10 as well, but man its legit hard(did I menion Im using a Dualshock 4 for this? Yes I know what your thinking.

I must really hate myself. ??)

 

Hopefully I put that mission down down in the next session.

Not a whole ton of progress, but progress nonetheless. I finished up the story for Lego Harry Potter and am now doing clean up for all the collectibles and random trophies for it. Bioshock Infinite I am taking my time and trying to explore as much of the game as possible without a guide. Its been fun playing both, and I'm looking forward to 100%-ing both games.

Right, time for an update.

 

I finally finished my first game! F1 2020 started off horribly, but after the initial problems were dealt with, everything was a lot easier. I especially enjoyed MyTeam mode, too bad I never managed to get my teammate to land in the points, and instead had to settle for crashing off the Mercs whenever they got close.

 

I also started, and finished, Horizon Chase Turbo. The game has an incredibly arcadey feel to it, and can best be described as an acid trip at the worst of times. The endurance 111 (since the update, it was 109 before) and the tournaments were pretty frustrating, especially when every car works together against you. 

 

I'm also almost done with Ride 2, but the token collecting thing takes way too long. Should be done in around two weeks. Unfortunately, school starts again (university starts late where I live) so game time is cut down a bit nowadays. That, and I also discovered Tennis World Tour has a glitched trophy, apparently. I'll see if that is the case once I play it, and if it is, I'll switch it out.

Basically just been a week or so of playing Diablo3. I forgot how much i loved this game.

Its such a nice easy chill dungeon looter and i love the cutscenes they include in it.

Basically just have to level 6 characters to level 70 now and complete a Hardcore run through which should be pretty easy. Another 10 hours or so and i'll have the platinum

Blood Bowl 2 has been enjoyable, pretty easy game to get trophies on but the gameplay does take a bit of getting used to, i'll be going back to it now and again to complete games and slowly get the platinum that way.

 

This week, probably going to focus on finishing the D3 Platinum and then decide what to move onto next. Might play some Minecraft/Skyrim and give Sherlock Holmes a try.

Update #4

Finally finished Backbreaker and man that game is an ass kicking. Fun football action but way way more unforgiving than any other football game I've ever played even on it's easiest settings. But highly recommended.

 

I added a few new additions, mostly games I've had laying around awhile and forgot were even in my backlog deep in my library (which is a problem in of itself) but one, in particular, I sought out. That game is Champion Jockey G1 Jockey & Gallop Racer. I love a good sports game and I casually enjoy watching a race at the track, tossing a few bones down and I had the urge to look and see if there was a horse racing game. I stumbled into the world of Japanese horse racing games and I absolutely need to add one of these to my collection. They look incredibly in depth, complex, and ridiculous with the pay off being these intense short races after breeding and training and conversations with anime trainers. It's an incredibly rare plat I suppose because after 9 years, they've finally figured out how to get two previously unobtainable trophies so perfect timing really. 

 

Also since I have a Move now, I have to recreate what must be one of these funniest implementations of motion controls I've ever seen. I'm unspeakably excited

I'm pleased I've got Up out of the way. The game reminded me of an ex-girlfriend. Short, plump, annoying thing, always carried a backpack, heart of gold (most of that I've made up for comic effect, maybe). I made the mistake of not looking at the trophy guide closely enough and didn't realise there were a whole extra set of collectables (bugs etc). This meant I had to grumble whilst repeating a few levels. I can probably give a fairer reflection on the game now that I've finished it and it's not annoying me. It actually plays OK, everything works ish. It seems fairly faithful to the film from what I remember, and the trophy list isn't bad at all, especially if you're aware from the start. Short levels to.

I finished the main story for Rise of the Tomb Raider on Survivor difficulty! I knock my gaming ability fairly often, so I'm quite pleased with that. It's generous for ammo and health and as long as you kind of strategize your main fights, it isn't that stressful at all. I also finished the 1st part of the Croft Manor DLC - a really enjoyable change of pace without combat. There's a few puzzles/riddles to solve as you're progressing through the manor and there's some nice tributes to the older games within the collectables you find. I smiled when I turned on a gramophone and some very familiar classical music came on. I've still got the clean up to do which will be made easy with fast travel, alongside all the other DLCs. I did start to get a bit bored of it (it's definitely not bad, there's just so much to do) so I'll be dipping in and out of it from now.

I'm pleased to pick up Persona 5 again. It had been a few months but I fell straight back in with the story. Without spoilers, I've just got to the part where I can start working on the Passionate Listener trophy. I'm quite out of sync with the confidant guide I'm using so that doesn't bode well for the future, but there's no point worrying about it. There's a save I can go back to but that will result in me redoing a dungeon or two, so I'll press on and hope for "free time" to catch up.

Added CSI for the PS3, cheap eBay purchase for my PS3 collection which has grown from 50 to 72 in about a month, oops.

OMG.

I used to play G1 Jockey on the PS2, to this day i have no idea how or where i actually bought the game, it just turned up one day.

 

Must have been one of my most played games in that era and i still have no idea why because ive never been a horse person or anything, the game was just really really fun.

If you enjoy horse racing, youre in for a treat honestly because the gameplay is great fun and learning the game is really enjoyable.

Everyone is doing so well! Congrats all of you! I feel like I'm making slow progress. I finally platinumed FF7R and my goodness did it get hard on the secret boss and chapter 17 on hard.
So I haven't made a lot of progress since my last update. I also discovered since I last checked Shenmue 3 got 3 DLC each with a trophy pack. and after a little investigation, I don't really want to pay $22 AUD to grind out the trophies that everyone on the forum said were utter garbage. So, looks like I'll need to swap Shenmue 3 out of my list after I get the platinum. it's already proving to be a horrid grind that is worse than Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2. The English voice acting is a joke (I'm laughing at how bad the writing and voice acting is, which is at least mildly entertaining), for a game that was kickstarted for 7 million USD. mind-boggling.

I strated my new job this week so gaming has been slightly harder then normal to make time for.

Plus I desided to stay at my old one in some from.

So now I work two jobs, witch puts me at around 48hrs a week of work.?

Only posting this cus it really trew off my whole rotine.

Im also gonna start Days Gone once I 100% Bloodstain Cruse of the Moon, due to U.MvC3 being just a tad to repetive to play on its own.

Took me a good 30mins, but I finally cleared Wovrines last mission(with a ds4)

I havn't played the gane in a few days, so when I finally saw all the pieces come together and that combo fully conected.

I felt pure hype.

I was starting to really doubt my own skills, but now I know, regurdless how hard it gets from here.

Ill probbly only be puting a hr or two a session into UMvC3 after tonight.

I think Ill have better results if I dont burn myself out doing long session on a gane were you need to do persice inputs fir hrs on end.

Ill leave the big hrs to the other games, like the soon to be Days Gone.

My Friday update, thanks to everybody for keeping us informed on your progress, really inspiring!

 

Far Cry New Dawn:

Finished this game and got the . Hardest trophy by far was 'Anger Management', by judging the number of posts I found on the internet, I was not the only one struggling with that. In the end I found my own solution as even the ones outlined by others didn't work (at least not for me). All in all it was a nice game, and a nice add-on on the Far Cry 5 story line.

 

Ether one:

I would never have returned to this game if it wasn't for this challenge. The game glitched out on me and I did put it aside. Picked it up again this week, found a solution for the glitch and continued the story. The story is nice and something else than you normally would get; it is about restoring memories/dementia/etc. However, the game is a one big glitch fest. Even with the patches installed there are many things not working as it should be. I did finish it today and after the pinged, i removed the disc and broke it into two. No one should ever be able to play this garbage . Probably one of the worst games I ever played (in terms of glitching).

 

Hitman 2:

I did found the solution in the Mumbai DLC on killing two targets with one train myself. In the end it was not that super hard, you just have to keep your eyes open for everything the world offers you in this game. Got the two online trophies out of the way as I saw a post that servers will be down from January onward, when Hitman 3 is released. I did finish also the Whiitleton Creek DLC so I have made some good progress again.

 

Adding games:

Since I have bought a PSVita again, I will be adding two games to my list; Mercenary Kings (0%) and Salt and Sanctuary (14%). I am not sure if I finish the first one as this is not a game to play in one go. i will be doing some missions now and then. Looking forward to restart Salt and Sanctuary and get this game done.
