Popular Post dylansko
Update #11 Hey Folks, decided I'm going to swap two of the longer, grinder games on here for some other one's I've had in my library that might just be more fun for the time being. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
Time for another update on my end with Shadow of Mordor becoming my 160th Platinum. This was a bit of an unexpected one because of the short time I had to get the single MP trophy done before Warner Bros shut the game servers down in a few weeks. I wanted to play the GOTY edition for a while now, but the fact that the platinum would become unobtainable soon pushed me to prioritize this one. This was a bit of a weird experience for me because alot of the core game code and asset building for Shadow of Mordor actually started out as part of a completely different game which I'd been reading up on for a while - a long since abandoned Legacy of Kain title called Dead Sun which was meant to bring the franchise to PS3/XBOX 360 generations. The other parts of it got chopped up and turned into a 2014 game which has since shut down called Nosgoth. The story to Shadow of Mordor is a bit hit and miss, there is a very small main storyline which jumps ahead a great deal and leaves big gaps for you to fill in on your own. Other story worthy areas like the Outcast liberation missions and the artefact collectibles are disjointed and just lazy glimpses into the game world. There is also this weird 'romance' subplot between Talion and the daughter of the ruler of Numen - the second hub area of the game - but it literally goes nowhere and is never resolved. There is a sub-plot between Talion and an Outcast leader which literally vanishes and is never brought up again, like, the character completely disappears from the story with minimal to zero reference beyond that. Which is weird, because the first quarter of the game is about. They even throw Gollum in there which is the thing they use to try and tie it all into the existing LOTR universe. We're introduced to a Dwarf which makes up a chunk of the story - it's listed as a main mission and part of the main story, but it drops a hastily thrown together subplot about the brother of the dwarf and vengeance - and once it's done with, it just vanishes like the others. Boss fights are another noteworthy thing - the main bosses of Sauron are pretty amazingly designed and have a great deal of visual character, but apart from the first boss - the other two are a stealth section, followed by a final fight that is a 3 button QTE. It feels so unbelievably rushed and diluted. There is no story closure after this, no resolution for all of these vague subplots and character arcs. Just....nothing....apart from a set-up for a sequel. It's like they knew there wasn't much to it and it was their way of saying 'Sorry everyone, not much to this one, but there will be s sequel, we promise' In short - there is pretty much no story at all. So avoid going into it expecting a grand epic tale befitting of the Lord of the Rings books and universe. The huge plus to the game, and the biggest saving grace is one specific gameplay system - The Nemesis System. I thought it was fantastic and something i've never experienced before. I loved strategising on who to kill and who to turn into an ally. I liked the idea of gaining intel on other members of the Uruk hierarchy and the feeling I got taking down a powerful warchief by using his weaknesses and/or his own army against him. After seeing the whole game in terms of experience, you get the real sense that they had the Nemesis system first and just needed to figure out a way to fit the LOTR content around it. Overall this game is enjoyable on a basic level, but I think your enjoyment will vary depending on how highly you prize story in a game and also how well you get on with the Nemesis system. Here's hoping Shadow of War is a bit better on all fronts. Spoiler Life is Strange 2 Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Rebel Galaxy Rebel Galaxy: Outlaw Shadow of Mordor The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope 0% - 20% Watch Dogs: Legion 5% - 7% Marvel’s Avengers: 73% Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Cyberpunk 2077 Immortals Fenyx Rising

Kind of ended up ignoring Cold Steel IV for a time, but mostly because I just want to get Song of Memories off my list at this point. It's not a great VN at all. The story is quite bland and repetitive and it contains an incest route. In my experience, VNs that contain incest routes are never going to be good and will be at best mediocre or bland. To its credit, you do get the better ending on that route by sticking with something that can still be interpreted as familial love, but that was still very ugh. I also really don't care much for how the game seems to always have the girls' sprites bounce around so their boobs jiggle every time they talk. It just makes the game look like it's fanservicey and is really distracting. To be honest I think the biggest fault about this game is that it can't really seem to decide what sort of VN it wants to be and due to that it just fails to do anything well because we get the issue of all the routes being very repetitive. Once you've done one route, you pretty much got the gist of what is going to happen in the rest and that is just boring. Gave it a shot with three routes, now I'm just skipping on the rest because I'm finding nothing further to keep my interest and just want the plat already. Edit: And wrapped up Song of Memories. Of all of that, only one route actually ended up being decent. Though I skipped at first, some of the scenes actually piqued my interest and ended up reading the last parts of Natsume's route and actually thought that one had a neat twist to it. Still not anything amazing, but it was definitely the best in the game. Overall, it's a mediocre VN and really mostly good for an easy plat. Didn’t post last week because I just straight up forgot. I’m tired. I finished Uncanny Valley. I’m still kind of confused about what’s going on with the story, and there’s not a whole lot in terms of gameplay, but I liked the visuals and the music. I definitely wouldn’t have paid for it but since I got it for free from PS+ all those ages ago, I think it’s worth the playthroughs. I’m still not enjoying Lego Ninjago, but I’m going to force myself to finish it. One location at a time is about all I can handle, but hopefully it continues to go smoothly when I do work on it and it won’t continue to crash on me… I also finished Shadows of New York, which I loved! It should be played as a sequel to Coteries of New York if you ask me, but it can be played standalone. Either way, it’s really good and it’s got me excited for Bloodlines 2 whenever that comes out! I’m adding Never Alone because I want to make a particular trophy from Hakuoki Edo Blossoms my 4000th trophy, and it’ll be easier for me to clean up some shorter indies to pad my numbers than to have to keep careful track while playing some of the bigger names on this list. From this point to the end of this year, I'm probably going to be even more flakey than I have been. My old job that went redundant with the pandemic has come back, but I also asked to keep my scheduled hours at the retail job I picked up in the meantime rather than reduce them for various reasons. So, I no longer have days off, just days with only one job instead of both. So I'm going to be extra tired and extra busy until then.

Popular Post da_eMTy
Update #10: Nice little update from me, got Telling Lies to 100% but it wasnt so much fun like I hoped from watching the trailer, months ago. It was a good game and I enjoyed it but it was too "open" and lacks the narrative with so much videos to watch. Also got the Platinum for Middle-Earth vor my 175th milestone and it will be a challenge to get to the 100%...Hope I can do this. After that I managed to complete the last 9 Levels from Bridge Constructor Portal. It was a nice game, but I enjoyed the predecessor more. Popular Post AuroraHistoire
All Your Cards Belong to Me Good news everyone! I collected every available card in The Witcher 3 base game, so I don't have to play the card game anymore. The card game is fun but having to challenge everyone in sight to earn all the cards was a bit annoying. I noticed on my quest for all the cards, that most no-name-NPC blacksmiths and innkeepers had unique dialogue. It's a nice little touch that most people probably wouldn't see or notice. I'll have to play the card game again and collect another set of cards but there is a quest marker to every NPC I need to challenge, so it will be a little nicer. It will be nice to get back to whatever else one does in The Witcher 3 besides play cards. I was bored one evening recently and finished Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Generation. It's a remake of Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory with a bit of new content and some combat changes. The changes are that your characters' SP is capped at 1000, you'll generate SP when landing you hit and EXE Drive attacks use up a character's SP instead of having its own bar, shared by everyone. Also, you don't unlock a character's EXE Drive attack by level up, you unlock it after using skills 100 times. I didn't know that until I was 90% through the game. Have the game mechanic I used to base my entire strategy around was unavailable to me for most of my playthrough didn't cause me much trouble but made the game feel different. The trophy list was pretty much the same as Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory but with Stella's Dungeon; so worse because of Stella. The 100 million credit trophy was a lot harder than in the original because the old method doesn't exist in this game. Instead, you fight the same coliseum battle to earn a blade that sells for half a million credits about 100 times (it sounds bad but each fight takes under 30 seconds and you're also leveling your characters to 99 at the same time), then you buy and sell outfits (it has to be outfits since they sell for 50% of their original value, while other items only sell for 10%-20%) to earn the rest. I also had trouble with the completing 100 guild quests trophies but that was mostly my fault. I didn't notice the trophy pop, so I spent 3 hours completing extra quests for a trophy I already got. Popular Post RoastedPeanut
Update # 5 I really haven't made much progress at all since my last update. A few other things have gotten in the way, but I'll still get through this list. I've decided to use my 4th swap and replace Death Stranding with Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition. I fired it up last night having not played it since 2014 and really enjoyed myself, so this time I'm going to see it through to the end. I also bought a new PS3 this week, I've been living in China the past 18 months, but my PS3 is back in Australia and I've been craving a few PS3 games, so I figured why not. I found one cheap and now I'm just downloading the ol' digital backlog. I'll most likely use my final swap for a PS3 game and then if I knock out my full list I'll add a couple more afterwards. I did the long Completionist run yesterday and just finished up the radio, backtracking, and unresolved stories trophies today. I like "Walking Simulators" so I mostly enjoyed the game, but that walking speed is very slow like everyone says. I swapped it in to get a quick completion and it was fine for that. Currently working my way through all of the revenge matches, which while painfully paced at the breakneck speed of 1/18 per day, are actually pretty fun. The characters from the main game are back and are making things super tough. Most holes require either a birdie or eagle to win par is just not going to be enough a lot of the time. They hits some pretty wild shots. Other than that, we have the fishing encyclopedia to do where I'm waiting on the fishing guy's revenge match to get the better equipment, maxing out the gallery which will hopefully get done soon, figuring out the condors, and doing all the 120 challenges to for the secret characters. We've entered the grind game now. Here's what's left. 1. Everybody's Golf (49%) 21/31 2. Cuphead (0%) 3. Ni No Kuni (0%) 4. Mass Effect: Andromeda (1%) 5. Kingdom Come: Deliverence (28%)
Popular Post ladynadiad
1. Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki 2. Beast Quest (0%) 0 out of 24 trophies 257 out of 536 trophies earned. 6 out of 14 games completed 2/5 swaps used Just a small update trophy wise with just some progress in Stranger of Sword City. Otherwise this update is mostly I've decided to can the idea of Trails of Cold Steel IV as my 200th plat and instead save that for Ys IX instead. February is a far better timeframe for that and I can focus on trying to wrap up the remaining games i started this year since I have a few doozies in length that I do want to wrap up before the year ends if possible. Still want to get my not started backlog below 60 though, so I added a couple of games to get me to that goal that I can also finish up since those games I added would bring me to 59 games in the backlog not yet started and all of them should be around 20 hours max to plat. Going to have to take a break from Cold Steel IV to play Will: A Wonderful World though since both of those I own physical copies of and I prefer to only swap physical games when I'm done with one or taking a lengthy break from it. Almost debated on just swapping it out, but I think I'd like to play a good VN before the year is over and I've heard plenty of good about that one, unlike Song of Memories. And Dragon Lapis was added mostly because it's a new Kemco release and I decided to treat myself and buy it today.

Popular Post freddie1989
Another update for me, these are becoming regular now which is good!! Finished Chaos on Deponia which frankly I made a total hash of not realising there were game length trophies I messed up at the start so had to play most it twice which was painful!! Still cant quite get into these to be fair but I will plug away as they are only short. Made a start on Horizon Zero Dawn as well which I am enjoying so far but have only really done the training and a couple of early quests but the concept seems to be really good and my type of game.
