Hi guys, managed to make some progress in Cyberpunk and Cold Steel over the last week. This week I'm getting Atelier and Ys IX as birthday presents to myself and adding those and Concrete Genie (PS+ game out Tuesday) to my list. I have 2 weeks annual leave (will do my best to not work through this lol) so hopefully will make some good dents in my backlog. Nice to see the next challenge open, going to mull on it for a while.

What's up guys? As we head into the last stretch of the event, I want to give a shoutout to everyone tackling their games to get them done. You guys are the real deal. As for some good news to start off this update, last update I mentioned how I bought a PS5 to resell? Well, I decided to keep it and sold the PS4 instead ? I am so glad I did. No more jet engines when playing games.

As far as the game updates go, I finally 100% all of Resident Evil 7. I pretty much took a whole month without trophy hunting because I did not feel motivated in going for those trophies. Loved the game and plot twist, but just wasn't fan of the DLC. Fun fact tho, it took me like 3 days to do it all. Now, taking that hiatus might bite me in the ass because I may not have enough time to finish up the rest of the games I have left on the challenge. Anyways, next goal was to target the Metro series but I decided to go with something a bit more relaxed so I jumped into Secret of Mana instead and what a great game. The remake isn't something to be crazy about nor is the battle system. I feel it took away from the engagement but story-wise, loved it. I could tell why it was considered one of the best games of all times. After finishing it, I hopped directly into Trials of Mana and again, I am loving it.

After a long hiatus, I have started working on Assassin's Creed III again. Nervous about something glitching, so backing up and saving to the cloud regularly. Did the same with Black Flag. So far, so good. Going to mostly explore the frontier today, killing cute and not so cute critters, picking up collectibles, and also advance the story a bit.

I was waiting to make some more progress before posting and update but the month is over and didn't really do anything else. Darksiders II is done while I enjoyed the combat and the story I wasn't a fan of the platforming I keep missing and being frustrated by it but probably I just wasn't any good at it.

 

Also been playing My time at Portia is a nice and relaxing and, I'm only picking up when everything else seems like too much. I don't like playing overcooked on my own so I haven't touched it since the holidays.

 

I just don't know if I can finish my list in a month. At these rate some games are gonna end up moving to next month like last time, I keep being too ambitious.

So end of the month (really, 1 month of 2021 is over and done?!) is here and with it my end of the month rant and review.  First off, I got a PS5 Disc version through my workplace; the third round of systems came in and, making sure that it was ok, literally put my name on the bundle it came in before it went anywhere. It included the system, a second controller, a charging station and headphones which was bundled together.  There were two other bundles and the electronic supervisor put it on social media that we had two for sale - they were sold in under 15 minutes. 

 

Now to the games I've played this month:

 

Cyberpunk 2077 - platted this game and glad I am done with it. I deliberately left the endings for last (almost missed saving a certain character for one ending, luckily I only lost a couple hours of playtime overall). Worst part was the trophy to max out a skill to twenty.  Before really thinking of it I put skills in other abilities and got the needed trophies there, such as the Beserk trophy and the Detonate Grenade Hack trophy. Then did the one that needed 18 points into Tech to make Legendary weapons and didn't load a previous save. Then I used another point to get into a gig objective without alarming the guards. At which point I said screw it and maxed out Reflex and tried to maxout handguns since I had a revolver that  did massive damage (near 2100 dps). Only to find that I ran out of gigs and missions to level it up on. So then I maxed out Tech and spent three evenings leveling up my crafting to 20. PITFA. Did the endings, left the Nomad for last (since I romanced Panam) and done. 

 

LA Noire - It's been almost ten years now since I've played this game. Was unemployed and money was tight. I had preordered this game and paid beforehand so it wasn't a waste but still recall felling bad about getting a new game when I wasn't working. Finished it in a week iifc. I remember having the strategy guide (I feel old) and kept it after the game was done but lost it among other things in a move several years ago. Still like the game and found it cheap at a pawn shop for 10 bucks so thought why not?  Like that they changed the lie/truth/doubt to accuse/good cop/bad cop instead, gives it a more natural feeling. Kind of wished I could skip the DLC but if wishes were fishes the haul I would have. As of right now I just finished Vice and do the Free Roam, might even go for the Golden Reels while I am at it. 

 

Epic Word Search Collection - Something to play when I don't have time for longer game times. It happens; get busy watching something or I'm tired and needed something relatively quick and relaxing to do. Won't last much longer I'm afraid though; only a few trophies left before its done.

 

Not many games this month so might change that this month to come. See you in a month.

I didn't play much of anything this week, but I did get some more AK done. I doubt I'll get my full list done at this point, but if I can knock out a couple more I'll be happy.  Even if I completely stall out and don't make any more progress, completing 14 games in 5 months is the most I've done in years. So this challenge was worth it just for that. Not making any plans for the coming week, I'll just keep chugging along with AK and see what happens.

I’m back from the Dead!!!!

 

Ok seriously tho I’m been kinda in a deep depression(it comes and go’s) so I’ve been in a shut myself off from ppl and being social state of mind for the past 2nhalf months.

iI did platinum Devil May Cry 2 and Streets of Rage 4 witch were part of this challenge tho.

 

Guess let’s do some breakdown while we are here.

 

Platinum #94 - Streets of Rage 4

Difficulty-6/10

Overall-

Im a pretty big fan of Streets of Rage 2.

Played it a ton as both a kid growing up and as a young adult when it was ported on 360.

So when I heard that a long awaited sequel to SoR3(I don’t care for this one tbh tho) was coming I was beyond thrilled.

 

The game is what I would call the perfect modern take on genre as old and timeless as beat em’ ups are.

You can do all your basic beat em’ up stuff like punch, special, grab, throw and everyone’s favorite eating chicken out of garbage cans?

But now you can do stuff you would see in Devil may Cry or Platinum games veroius titles.

Like lunchering foes in the air for combos, doing ground bounces to lead into more combos. Lots of other cool techs as well, like jugging witch completely opens of the games combat and rises the skill celling a surprising amount.

With 5 main characters to play around with.

This short game has what I believe to be near endless replaybility.

Lovin’ the 90’s homage to the soundtrack with its nowadays dub step mixed with old school hip hop.

Getting the plat isn’t too hard, but it can be a challenge to S rank every stage(stage 4 being the hardest) on hard difficulty and clearing Arcade mode on hard.

Getting a 5million life time score can be a grind.

Game is so damn fun you’ll hardly notice.

I actually went and beat the game on Mania(highest difficulty) just cus I was enjoying the game so much. 
And to speed up the grind.

 

I’d highly recommend this game to lovers of character action games. 
It’s not as mechanically deep as those games tipically are but it’s more then worth it’s 20$ price point.

 

Platinum #95- Devil May Cry 2

Difficulty-10/10(Only cus it’s so terrible that it’s brutal to just finish it all the way lol)

Fun- negative 10000000/infinity 

Time- way to damn long

 

overview-

Ok being as objective as I can be.

I think on its own this game is at least decent for what it was.

That being a acradey 3d beat em’ up with DMC1 lite elements thrown in.

The game is obv terrible if you compare it to the rest of the series.

The worst part of this game is the ponitless story, bland as fuck level design and sluggish combat mix with the poor core enemy and boss design.

I do like the art for Dante and Lucia tho, they look pretty cool at least.

 

Still playing the game can be at least some fun... I guess...just not for the platinum. Lol

Oh well at least it’s quick.

Except for Clearing 90 floors of bloody palace, fuck that.?

Update 15!

I’m going to only switch out Sleeping Dogs, not Ghost or the Lego game. I know I won’t finish them in time, but I think this way it’ll just give me more wiggle room for game choices for the next run of this challenge, since I’m on a no buy until I pay off some stuff and establish about how much money I can allow myself to spend for fun each month. I’m switching Sleeping Dogs for Murdered: Soul Suspect PS4, which I started late last week. It’s a system stack for me, I played the PS3 version a year or two ago and liked it, so I grabbed the PS4 version when it was on sale at some point last year so I could replay it.

 

I finally finished Hakuoki! To avoid simping over fictional samurai boys (I love otome so damn much), let me just say that it was all really well written and I had a lot of emotions. And I also finished it just in time for it to be my only plat of January!

Don't collect any almanac pages with Haytham. It can glitch the counter. And the rest is mostly paranoia.  But I know leave nothing to chance with Ubi games.

Assassin's Creed III is going well. Finished sequence 6 and did some more exploring. Sadly, I permanently lost a convoy (one of the big money makers) due to a glitch and can't replace it. Luckily, I have two more that I can still use. It still sucks, though, because it was worth a lot of money.

UPDATE 10.0.: What's up guys? Really close to the challenge, and I'm super glad that many of you are really close to the finishing line with all those games putted to an end once and for all. What a satisfaction seeing those games rising their percentages and looking at your profile cute as ever! In my case, I returned to TLOU because in all honesty why to bother start a new title when I left so isolated this amazing game? This one featured in the Summer 2020 Backlog Challenge, but couldn't finish it due to time constraints and also, I don't like to play long amounts of time too. Also, currently going for the last play through, as I wanted to enjoy it first, then the collectibles and now on Grounded+. Wish me luck, as tend to feel anxious in stealthy games, pretty much because I like frenetic action sometimes and being limited in inventory could make me frustrate a little meanwhile. 

Also, I finished decided which games are going to be swapped, but just a single month to finish 3 games seems daunting (not considering GTA V -which I wish to left for being my 30th platinum- or Naruto), can be a rush and something that I'm not wiling to do. However, if I manage to beat them in a week time span then this can be doable in the end and I'll be super satisfied with the results!  Anyway, here's the new list, and since I haven't done any progress towards any of them, there's no proper progression update this time around. In Assassin's Creed III today, I gathered all the feathers, chests, and trinkets in the Frontier and Boston. I thought one chest in Boston glitched, but after looking online, was checking the wrong place. More will open up later. I also have some side things to do in both places, but will also do those later as well. I got my completion in game to 48% as a result of all this collecting and only about halfway through the story.

Update!

 

I got Immortals Fenyx Rising back up to 100%. If you liked the puzzles from the main game, you'll love the DLC. It's puzzles heavy. Honestly, the DLC just makes the game even better in my opinion. Consider this a nice epilogue to the main game. I look forward to the other two DLCs. I also made bit of progress in AC Valhalla and Remnant.

Not sure what you mean. All I had left to do for the hunting society was visit the hunting cabins in the frontier and do their missions. I hunt a lot, so I had almost everything done before sequence 6.

Currently at the beginning of sequence 8 on AC3. Got the trophy for sequence 7 and the trophy for 50% completion. I was considering moving on, but decided I didn't want to screw with it tonight. I did one or two side deals. I was originally going to save this game for spring, but decided I didn't really want to wait. I also won Bowls towards the Original Gamer trophy.

It's not too bad story wise. Some of the 100% objectives in the story are a pain in the ass to put it mildly. The main deal is you have to complete every single side thing in the game as well. Most of the non-story trophies are easy enough to do.

My copy of Ys IX arrived and just like I thought it became quite the addiction and I beat it in less than a week.  Absolutely love the game and just wrapping up with plat now with a second run.  I missed a couple of quests on my first run and that caused me to miss a monster and other than that the remaining trophies are beating on nightmare difficulty and some battle related ones and a million gold pieces (I have almost 900k right now).

New Atelier and Ys are excellent and this week I really hope I can finish at least one of them before I have to go back to work,
