Did anyone notice the game prevents you from shooting arrows at foxes?

After hunting nearly 200 different animals on rdr2 i was well and truely disapointed at this

I'm not sure but I think that if you try to shoot an arrow at your horse it moves out of the way as you aim. Or maybe it happened to me randomly

The foxes are your friends and lead you to Inari Shrines as does the Japanese Yellow bird to places of interest, its not the same game as Assassins Creed or the game you describe where you hunt for pelts.  Only things that are killable are either human enemies [ Mongols, Straw Hat Ronins, bandits ] or their eagles [ these give away your position] and predators like Bears and Wild Pigs and the Mongolian dogs that hang about with their masters in camps.
