Popular Post Beast_Mode255 Posted August 19, 2020 Popular Post Share Posted August 19, 2020 Seriously, I'm shocked they haven't remastered this game on the PS4 yet, especially with how successful the Uncharted series is, and with how poorly the PS Vita did. I played this game once and got like 75% of the way through it but never finished it cuz I hated how it controlled on the Vita, but I imagine it would be fantastic on the PS4 with it's amazing controller. It's the least rated game because it was on the Vita, just like those 2 God of War games were the 2 least rated GoW games because they also were on the Vita...or maybe psp, but whatever same thing, they were on a handheld is my point, and they got ported and sold really well! I'd rank it above the first game, but below all the others. It's the second worst, I guess. The graphics are awesome considering the hardware. It also has my favorite treasure system, because most of them are connected to the story. Nate has something to say about every treasure he picks up, for example, which is not something seen in the other games. I would like a remaster of it on PS4, just so more people could play the game. I have no idea how they would handle some of the mechanics though. A lot of them could be solved by using the touchpad, but then there's the weird thing with holding the Vita up to a bright light to reveal a message. The only reason I would like a PS4 version is to be able to do the trophies again! I had a really good time with it, and it's all the more impressive as a launch title for a handheld, by a team of far less prestige than Naughty Dog. Yes, we'd already seen the jungle setting, but Golden Abyss has some seriously attractive vistas and cliff-side shoot-outs. I think the environments were put to better use than much of Uncharted 1. I'd love to see it made available on PS4, but unlike Wipeout, Gravity Rush, Tearaway and virtually every other first-party Vita game, it seems Golden Abyss isn't destined to make the jump. Jeez. I see potential, but it's all in the hands of.....other ppl. Lol. As much as it's gotta suck to be a game dev these days, I'm sure it would be a treat to work on this game as a project for sure. Enjoyed the game. Almost got the platinum. Sadly I also think this game has basically been forgotten about so there's very little chance of it happening. zachpicc Posted January 3, 2023 Share Posted January 3, 2023 Sony will never port anything from PS Vita, they're not interested in porting any of their 1st party PS3 stuff over (Ratchet and Clank, Infamous, Resistance, Killzone the list goes on) even though 4k 60 ports of those games would be amazing. They're only interested in mega big budget games that sell loads not smaller projects, that's pretty clear.
