Trophy Thoughts?

I loved the first Rebel Galaxy but I'll don't buy this one. They changed everything that was good in my opinion. The best thing in Part 1 was, that you fought tactical epic Battles in huge Dreadnoughts, now it's just a fast Action Shooter with small ships. Why?! Terrible decision.

I haven't been going too deep into the game as I didn't want to spoil anything for myself, but by looking on wiki, there are some capital ships:

Question is, are the playable or just NPC ships we fly by? I love their art style, so the change to fighters won't bother me so much. I really hope for more various options, like trading, fighting, etc. Because in the first one mission were pretty straight forward.

The game is already released since last year on Steam and there are just 5 small playable Ships in the game.

The first game felt like "Babylon 5", and the second feels like a random Space Shooter (Everspace as an example).

Looking forward to it (except the bar mini games), I still do a replay of the first game from time to time

The wiki mentioned before lists 12 different ships.

Game is finally here, 22 September is realease date! I loved first one and this one seems to be improved on almost every level.

Trophy list also doesn't look bad. Couple of grindy ones here and there, but with that great gameplay value it will be a blast.

Thank you. I caught wind of this game the other day and was trying to find the release. I am looking forward to this. I just need to wrap up a few things so I can focus on this one. The problem is that Port Royale comes out on the 25th. I don't know how I will manage my time between the two.

Yeah, I was looking at the trophies and I am a little apprehensive about the mini game trophies. They can be a real pain. Just look at Stardew Valley, Goat Simulator, and FFX just to name a few.

Besides all that, I am looking forward to the game. The first one was A LOT better than I had thought it would be. I think it was a PS Plus game and thats how I was first introduced to it. There was a very small learning curve to the game but once you get a few hours into it, it was an amazing game. The only thing I would have liked to seen improved on was the trade options.

I am sceptical.

Rebel Galaxy was a gem.

They completely changed the concept that made this game great.

But on the other hand, if I would like to play a game just like rebel galaxy why not play rebel galaxy again and give outlaw a chance.

At least its a 360 degrees space shooter, it cant be that bad. ?

Took 42 hours, and I give it at least 4/10 on the difficulty scale. The going seemed rather tough early on, due mainly to the ill-conceived difficulty scaling. Innocently, I figured I'd upgrade to a Durston for more efficient mining and merchant deliveries (massive cargo capacity), which caused a substantial difficulty spike, making even early systems and missions quite dangerous. Suddenly, I encountered large enemy groups, obliterating me with missile spam—not fun.

From the beginning, the approach I'd suggest is to flee from conflict as much as possible, until you can afford to purchase a high-end fighter craft with maxed components. Using the touchpad to hail hostile ships and talk your way out of trouble is very helpful; it works more often than you'd expect. Failing that, divert power to engines and afterburner away, while dumping power into shields to survive the unavoidable tail shots. By mining asteroids in the Texas system, along with doing the safest Merchant Guild missions on the side, it only takes a few hours to make a small fortune in credits.

I recommend buying the Foxbat from Bountiful Vista or a police station, as I think it's the best overall craft in the game, being the only fighter with a medium hull and a turret. For hardpoints, I equipped three auto-cannons, and two photon cannons; easy to aim, conserves power, and melts everything other than destroyers. Turret was a tracer, which seemed to be the most effective option. Used a Bountiful Vista swarm launcher for missiles, of course (they hold more ammo when bought there). I had no trouble in combat after getting one. Even the huge dogfights are honestly pretty easy with a good ship, but here are my tips for them anyway:

-Using auto-follow target (L2) is basically a requirement for battles to be manageable, so use it liberally.

-Become very familiar with the triangle menu! So many important functions there, and it slows down time to let you think.

-Try to target bandits on the fringes of the combat space. You generally don't want to be in the thick of skirmishes.

-ECM Package 3 is vital for avoiding the missile spam in this game. The cooldown is quick, too.

-Don't neglect diverting power to various systems when necessary. Engines when you need to escape or chase down a target; weapons when you're lighting up a capital ship, etc..

-Know when to run away for a shield recharge. This has the additional benefit of thinning out the enemy throng, since they won't all follow you.

-Transferring all available power to shields (radial menu option on triangle) is quite abusable; you can spam it to survive the worst situations.

-Try to have a buddy accompany you at all times, since a wingman drastically improves survivability. Satchel is the strongest friend by far for most of the game, until you unlock the final guy (who shall remain nameless ?).

Focusing on "Cap Killer" from the start is probably a good idea, as well. Whenever I noticed friendly frigates without many mercenary or police escorts, I destroyed them, and earned the trophy early as a result. As for the minigames, I was fortunate enough to grow up playing pool and Asteroids, so they didn't pose much of a problem. Farming UFOs makes the StarVenger high score a cinch, while the pool players often make inexplicably braindead mistakes. I had no real strategy for dice, beyond aiming for five of a kind. Also, any time I lost at pool or dice more than 1-2 times in a row, I would dashboard and reload my save. Didn't want to lose too much money.

Finally, save often! The game crashed three times for me. You can force a save anywhere, by exiting game in the pause menu.
