Issue with Gaps

Recommended Posts

They should honeslty have double and triple checked some of the gaps before asking players to do them.

Asking players of doing original gaps while changing the level geometry is simply stupid.

Right now I am trying to do the "Over the Road" gap in New York and have simply no idea how to do it, since the grassy verge has a totally different angle in this game compared to original.

Does anyone have a video of how to that specific gap?

Edit: Of Course I got it 30 sec after whining, as always. Still doesn't change the fact that some of the gaps are just barely possible with a perfect jump and a lot of luck.

You can jump from the park platform with the benches, the little fenced in area above the kicker over the big wall. Just Boneless and you clear it. Not sure if this is actually intended, but it does work. Like how you can get the Big Ass gap in Downtown by jumping into the cinema instead of over the platform.

I did all gaps back in 2000 and I only have three left now for the trophy. They should've made all the new ones less obvious.

I got a feeling some gaps just work when feel like it. Best example is the Gonz Gap in the Streets. I did the same shit like 100 times and on the 101st try it decided to count it?

Same level, I did the Spine gap ten times in a row on my friends PS4 to show him how to do it. When I got home I spent hours trying to land it even once for myself...

some gaps have a too small trigger window. for new york try to skate between the 2 trees, for me i could jump there the best. had more problem with on the bridge (dont know the english gap name atm) as with the over the bridge. other gaps come in mind are streets where you have to jump in the park, roswell over the plattform and skate heaven kicker 2 railspan+the rail one after that & feed me. that were my "hard" gaps. i did them on my grind on ps1 again just to check if i am not to stupid... nailed them first try, on ps4 wasted hours in skate heave. i hope for all other players that they fix some of the triggers, other than that hope you have luck with hitting the triggers

Some of the triggers are a little wacky in the remake for sure. High Deck Gap would trigger only a small portion of the time for me on Roswell, and sometimes landing into a grind when popping the gap just ended my combo.

And that's the only point why there is the get there challenge. They knew how crappy that trigger is haha. I hope for more casual players that they fix such stuff. But at the end they are doable, its just a matter of time and frustration

If you clear the deck, it triggers every time

Nope.

Two more examples for you:

Gotta say that's really odd. I knew this level was one of the hardest, so I started doing this level first. I remember the gap registered every single time for me, even when I thought I would miss it.

Edit: I thought you didn't use R2 to acid bomb, but you did...

UNLESS, you actually need to do an Acid Drop, with R2, when approxing the gap, otherwise it won't register. I always used it to complete a gap unless it does automatically. For instance, in Bullring, at the half pipe, if you press R2 to transfer to the opposite quarter pipe, it will automatically complete the gap. However, I don't know if you press R2 twice (without the animation of landing in the ramp) will register your gap/transfer. In your videos, it happens the same thing, it doesn't seem you pressed R2. Don't know, I'm just saying. I don't know if it changes anything...

Here's a video of it registering, using the same technique:

And here's another two of it not registering:

I can consistently make the jump, and sometimes the gap will register, but most of the time it doesn't.

I think you get the picture. The gap is buggy as hell, and I've got enough evidence of me clearing it frequently enough for y'all to know it's not a skill problem. :P Really hope they patch it. The Feed Me!! one is just as bad, and I have videos of me clearing that without proccing the gap, too. The halfpipe grinds were buggy, too, but they were easier to hit so it wasn't as much of an annoyance.

Such a pain in the ass.

Same, just got it four times without it registering. Stepping away from it for now, haha.

Edit: Kicker 2 railspan. Also, my dpad gave out, only the down arrow works. Cursed gap

Edit 2: Got it just now. Used this method (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IACTGvDU2k&ab_channel=TheMessyGentleman) - even not using the exact positioning by the stain, it helps to be anywhere near it and pointing between the trees. Somehow got Feed Me in a few tries right after. Good Luck.

The only gap I've had an issue with thus far is Kicker to Railspan in Skate Heaven.

I have no fucking clue what I'm doing wrong. I've seemingly done it like 3 or 4 times (or more) but it won't register.

Glitch? At first, I thought you had to be on the very edge of the start of the rail for it to click, but I've done that it won't register...I have no clue what is going on with this one. But it's annoying the piss out of me considering it's the last gap I need.
