Mini Review if you're on the fence about this

(Stolen from my status update)

Before I went into this one, I wasn't expecting great things. In fact I was expecting something worse than a bad Senran Kagura. I was surprised.

Gameplay: it's not hard but it's fun to play. Leveling up the watercraft actually has a noticeable impact. It has that easy to pickup hard to master vibe.

Story: cheesy and low on carbs. Perfect after playing story heavy games. That's not to say that the motivations are lazy and dumb. Nice closure too. I need to see the anime now.

Characters: your typical Marvelous Games girl game vibe. Everyone is likeable. Designs are great. Voice cast is great. Rin, Misa, Jennifer, Kamui are some top picks.

Music: music is great here. Each track has its own theme with an alt version. There isn't one you can call objectively bad.

Graphics: weakest part of the package, in some respects. There is asset reuse from the Senran Kagura series and the levels look ps3 (suppose that's the Marvelous charm.) Characters look great and even the SK characters got a face lift.

Trophies: do this and do that. Not hard. The game is so fun that just as it got tedious it sucked me back in with the new characters and customising their racing outfits.

(A few more notes)
This one I feel you don't need to know Senran Kagura (SK), in fact, the SK characters are worthless outside eye candy as the characters for this game are fantastic and you should play as them (you have to in story anyway.

That said, I think this times into SK canon due to the final character's story beats.

Tl;Dr fun jet ski racer with great characters, great music and an easy yet fun trophy set. Buy on sale if not an SK fan. Buy immediately if an SK fan.

score: 8.5/10

My biggest problem with this game is that it's very tame in the Fan Service department when compared to the SK games but I still recommend picking this up at some point if you want a Sports title that won't drive you nuts when going for the Plat :).

I didn't mind that. How much fan service can you do for a jet racer? Tbh the polka dot bikini was just the best for Rin and Misa. Dressed Jennifer as a maid and Emily as a bunny girl. Yeah I like this game a lot 😅

Was thinking of buying, but not at £40. Will wait for it to go on sale.

I also wouldn’t expect the old levels of fan service given it’s on PS4. They don’t like the idea of showing women as sexy any longer.

I was happy at the price point with import. Imo it doesn't lack fan service considering it's jet racing. I'm surprised they actually showed any at all (this doesn't mean I support Sony policy). I reckon there is £40 content if play it online a lot, otherwise you're not wrong with waiting for a sale.

I’m not an online player (not since I moved and have to use WiFi, plus I have to be able to save and leave a game at a moments notice these days). I usually don’t buy games digitally (don’t want to give Censorstation my money so buy secondhand when possible) plus digital is a price rip off here in the U.K. Definitely will wait.

I cannot deny our terrible digital pricing. Hurray for VAT. Also hurray for Marvelous Europe being picky with their physical releases these days.
