What's the longest game you've ever played?

As I'm currently going through Persona 5 Royal, one thought came to my mind: Will I manage to beat this before Crash Bandicoot 4 comes out? Of course having spent more than 100 hours with the original game and being hella busy lately, the answer was an obvious no. The other thought that came to mind was how long of a game Persona 5 actually is, and probably even longer with Royal which is a great thing for it's value and makes me wonder what other games have a similar length to it, if not longer.

What's the longest game you've ever played? Which by the way I'm talking about single player games, not multiplayer games. I have a feeling Open-World and RPG titles will fill up most of the answers.

If you mean from start until platinum/finish : Witcher 3.  Game is massive, loved every single bit of it. Did not rest until I completed it all.

Overall : Dark Souls. So many builds and ways to play that game. Could not get enough of it.

By start to finish I mean the length of the campaign, story mode, etc. Either with or without side quests and so, sure can be for a platinum as well.

Skyrim would probably take that title for me by a long shot. In the last 9 years since it's been out I've owned it on Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and PC. With a combined total of roughly 1200-1300 hours between all my characters and platforms. At least once or twice a year I'll pick it back up and just carry on questing and doing random shit for a couple of weeks. Skyrim will forever hold a special place in my gaming heart.

It's gonna take me over 200 hours to get this platinum for Pathfinder: Kingmaker.

I'm probably just gonna finish the game on easy and come back to it a year later.

Yeah, I had to take a break from that game. It's a great game but it got to the point where I was spending more time in load screens than playing the game. I just couldn't handle the constant crashing anymore. Which is sad because it could be such a great game.

In terms of single player games on PSN, my longest was probably Fallout 4 at around 150 hours (half of that scavenging scrape no doubt).

Overall my longest ever single player game though would easily be XCOM's Long War mod campaign, on PC. Runs used to take anywhere between 150 and 600 hours, depending on what showed up.

For singleplayer games, definitely Crusader Kings 2. A full on campaign from the early start date can easily take up to 100 hours. I have a grand total of 1300 hours locked into that game, which is the highest recorded number on any singleplayer game I have. I can't rule out that some older games, like Anno 1602, Settlers 3-4, Rome Total War, Dynasty Warriors 3 or Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (once you get into Chao breeding, you lose a lot of your lifetime) don't have more hours accumulated over the years. Strategy games are enormous time sinks for me, more than any RPG I have ever played, the only thing swallowing more time are Mobas or MMOs, which is why I have put them on my avoid list.

If you exclude multiplayer I can't say I've delved that many crazy hours into one single game because I'm a variety gamer at heart. In the stats Sony gave out once though one single-player game clocked up a lot and that was Binding of Isaac. Strongest contenders on PS4 would be multiplayer games and it would comfortably be Rainbow 6 Siege at that peak I reckon.

If you include multiplayer games and we go back to my youth where I had more free time then I dare not even try to calculate how many hours I've spent in MMOs over the years... Whether that be the countless time on Runescape in or more niche MMOs that I've plowed ridiculous numbers into... I don't play MMOs at all anymore because I just know I'll get hooked. At one point, in an MMO called FlyFF I had the highest HP/DEF tank on the entire server as well as having a second character who ranked up there with the top DPS/PvP players in the server, safe to say you don't just do that overnight ?. And that's not the worst part, whilst I had high levels in a few MMOs I didn't spend all my time grinding xD I actually socialised and just hung around certain social areas for just as much if not more of my time in those games, that just skyrockets my playtime even more... like I said earlier in this post... I don't even want to begin to calculate my hours, but it's comfortably in the thousands.

The Elder Scrolls Morrowind I sunk hundreds of hours into on the X Box. Certainly combined play throughs of ff8 and ff7 each added to that as well on PS1. And Starcraft 64 equated to so many hours too.

in recent years though, it would have to be Diablo 3 and Reaper of Souls. I platinumed Diablo 3 on PS3, Reaper of Souls on PS3 (with a dead server so legit character grind), and Reaper of Souls on PS4. I plan to do the expansion now. Anyone who knows those games knows that amounts to a lot.

For me, it would have to be Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone.

Right now, I'm at 877 hours but that time only includes hours actively spent playing the rhythm game. If we included the time I've spent learning score attacks, hold switches, button mapping setups for tricky songs, jealously staring at my competitors' scores on the leaderboards, and loitering in the menus to give my hands a chance to relax, it would be at least 1200+ hours.

Invokers tournament 2400 hours

That must of been a very long game for you if it took 2400 hours countless and endless grinding of a game.

Two years man, practicing to get better and grinding old exp rates that were so bad I had to convince the developer to make real big changes and he only listened because I was ranked globally in that game #1.

I was fighting against players that played 16 hours a day and I literally spent so much time for one trophy not counting leaderboard trophies like top 100 players in a season or kill 30 people in a match which is almost impossible against level 70 and 90 players.

That game will forever be my most proud completion

Awesome man great job keep on pushing keep moving forward to get better every single day and always focus on what you can do.

I've played some games of Civilization (II, III, IV, and V) that spanned dozens of hours. The most hours I have tracked in one game is probably Disgaea 1 PSP. I'm pretty sure my save is somewhere over 900 hours by now.

I hear you. I don't even want to think about how many hours I dumped into Civilization. It's such a great game.
