Online Shut Down 10/31/2020

Just saw thanks to the Upcoming Server Shutdowns thread

If you check the store page it says Online Functionality set to end on 10/31/2020

 

So that means the Scrap Crew challenges will become unobtainable which is required for the trophy Up to the Challenge

Edit: It appears that the servers are indeed offline as people are reporting they're not getting scrap anymore. This platinum is now unobtainable if you haven't completed the 2 Scrap Crew challenges in the Up to the Challenge Trophy before shutdown.

Well, I'm not sure if it would actually affect the trophies. As I recall, the guide did not mention any online trophies.

  This is listed on playstationtrophies.org website in the forum guide. it's 2 challenges that are required
  
  As confirmed by the game's entry in the PS Store, the servers are closing on October 31st of this year so get the following Scrap related challenges done ASAP!
  
  * A Penny Saved - Earn 500 scrap from Scrap Crews
  * Dividend - Earn 2000 scrap from Scrap Crews

The Platinum will become unobtainable once the servers go offline, because the following Scrap Crew challenges are only obtainable whilst you're connected to the Scrap servers:

Huh, fair enough. The guide here on PSN did not mention that trophy was an online trophy.

The Guide here is outdated and could use a tune up IMO.

Yeah it says quite a few trophies are unobtainable but there was a patch to fix the races right?

I had a trophy glitch on me when i played years ago and it killed my desire to continue. Hopefully it doesn't glitch on me again.

The races were fixed a year or two back but AFAIK, the only glitched trophy is "Looked Everywhere", though there are a myriad of glitches that can force a save file reload if they occur.

I had the complete all optional camp objectives glitch on me personally which is apparently a common glitch too

Hopefully i have better luck as i'm going to start a fresh playthrough and go for the plat soon

From what i can remember it's one of if not the last thing i did for the platinum. Pretty sure it takes a long time to get 2000 scrap from scrap crews.

For those who haven’t started the game, I would not fret as it doesn’t take too too long to accumulate the scrap you need for the required challenge (maybe 2-3 actual days after creating the scrap crews in game).

 

Don’t let this server shutdown stray you away from starting this game. You guys have plenty of time.

Get to Jeet’s territory and create the scrap crew using the parts needed from the various scrap locations (4 parts?). The game allows you to track the scrap locations to find the parts as well iirc.

No the only thing it affects is one small part of the challenges trophy

All this server closure affects, are the 2 Scrap Crew challenges needed for the Up to the Task trophy.

Had this game since it went free on Plus but never started it. Was always on the fence about starting it because Avalanche open world games are too repetitive for my liking.

I just finished this not too long ago. The amount of time it takes depends on how many crews you have per region. The goal should be to open up the entire map and unlock the survey crew upgrade for the camps. The most important thing I cannot stress enough is, in order for the crews to collect scrap, the game MUST NOT be running at all. I leave my console in rest mode at all times. I thought ok I’ll log out of the game and that should cover it. Nope. The game has to be entirely closed. 
 

The trophies in the guide labeled unobtainable are fixed and the locations trophy that can glitch is easy to avoid with multiple saves and keeping track of the numbers in the stats. I’ve included the video I used explaining it

I still don't understand the obsession of some developers to add online trophies to a mostly single player game....

 

Thankfully I already have the platinium years ago when I bought it, it's a really good game but going for the platinium can get tedious for sure. I don't remember well about those two trophies but my recommendation if someone want or already started the game and is really concerned about not 100% you can rush the game to end and focus on those two trophies.

 

Also if someone knows how to contact Avalanche maybe askint them about that could give you a clear answer of what to expect.
