Ranking to Level 100 online in 2020

I'd like to get rid of my physical GTA5 disc, which means it's time to finally try and platinum GTA5 itself (not bothering with the DLC). Clearly the multiplayer is still going strong, and I know there's literal free money for playing between now and when it launches on the next console. Are there established ways for ranking up quickly that don't involve getting your account wiped? With years and years worth of DLC and addons, the guides saying "just do stuff and grind" isn't super helpful.

What are the best RP-to-time activities if my plan is to get to level 100 and then delete the game entirely? :P

Just do whatever is double XP.  Resets are on Thursdays, so hopefully they do double $ and XP on contact missions tomorrow.  It won't take too long tbh, maybe a week or two at most while putting 3 hours per day.

Grind out aeound 2.3 million dollars. Buy a CEO office and 3-4 small warehouses. Then run single crate import / export missions. Do the mission to get the crate then the mission to sell the crate. Rinse and repeat. They give the fastest xp afaik.

If you can save up enough to buy a Buzzard helicopter, it makes these missions even quicker but it's not needed.

People can interrupt those missions so using the private server trick makes them much more consistent.

Also, I should mention that it's been awhile since I've done this. I doubt it's been changed since it's not exactly game breaking, but who knows.

Well how I did it was my brother got a CEO building (don't need to do anything in it) then he registered as a CEO then hired me as an associate. What we did then was be made a private session and both got in one car, and for every minute being in the CEO's proximity AS AN ASSOCIATE you get 200 RP and so we left our consoles run usually overnight with rubber bands around our controllers (very important) as then u would lag out. Now I started doing this at level 52 and in 5 days or so I was level 100. This is a great method I came up with, you should check it out.

The correct answer is whatever you enjoy most.

No one likes joyless grinds.

The second most accurate answer would be focusing on the other online trophies first and then focusing on 2X RP activities for the remaining levels.

Also playing missions (Online > Jobs > Rockstar Created > Missions) on Hard difficulty pay out 1.5x RP.

You can look for grind playlists on the R* Social Club so you don’t have to load these or other things 1 at a time. Unfortunately, searching these out is a bit of a pain.

The arena war wheel and Diamond Casino wheel have RP bonuses so at minimum check in once per day for the latter and hope for some RP boosts.

Also you said no DLC but the regular Heists are a lot of fun, especially if you can find some cool people to play with on mics.

Be heavily prepared to be with a lot of people as much that they presume good faith as those psychotics who delight to cause destruction and abuse newcomers.

You can grind easily rank 100 as Rockstar (since I've been playing) with the Los Santos Summer Update added events every week with missions that gives you 3x RP (experience in-game) and money. So shouldn't take you a lot to get those base game trophies and may be you'll encounter with few DLC in the process without noticing.

However, there are a lot and several methods you should take advantage in order to progress and maintain strong enough to survive this rampant and savage environment as the Online is. If you're planning to play as lone wolf, cheers on you as the task will be unsurmountable at moments but with good planning can be overcome quickly.

All that is if you really want to venture in the side stuff the game has to offer. If you focus exclusively for the trophies isn't really a difficult task, but a repetitive and sometimes raging experience in my opinion. You can do it for sure. And since you're just up to the base can be faster also. Just few tips:

1. Play often as the game awards you with money and RP.

2. Make missions that gives you 2x or 3x (rarely), and stick with them.

3. Buy a Kuruma Armoured Car and a Buzzard.

4. Don't mind to engage in heists or other stuff. Do what is quick and efficient.

5. Look for every collectibles. A free hunt that nets you around $1.5M by just playing the game. And you can do it in a solo lobby.

6. If you want to be VIP, wait a bit and try to get a CEO office, and from there build up to engage into Motorcycle Club properties, Nightclub and Arcade. With that can improve in order to get better gear.

Hope this helps you and cheers! Happy hunting!

last time i played a few years ago after they patched the hell out of the game, rooftop was the best mission to repeatedly do for xp. but it was hard to get the mission to pop up after completing it because they patched it to not come up repeatedly because people kept playing it. there might of been a work around, i think if you had a team and everyone tried it taking turns. i cant recall.

I did special cargo missions a lot. They give good amount of RP and do not take that long. However, I would recommend that you try to have some fun as well. Achieving level 100 is not that quick and it would suck to get burnt out.

This is what I did. There was a double rp cargo/crate week a couple months months back and I took advantage of that. Made grinding from 75 - 100 a whole lot easier. Also take part of whatever has 2rp, 3rp events.

I created a Capture Job in Editor wich requires two player but gives you a huge amount of RP. Do like I've wrote in the description plus killing the other player once every round

and you will gain around 150.000 rp/h. This job is effectiv but not exciting compared to Missions, Heists, or competitive Jobs.

Trust me I know how to rank up in Gta online.

I used the RV mission camping spot on double RP weeks and Peter Griffin playlists, I guess nothing can top those playlists since it's all AFK, just need a consistent partner.

After 90ish just start heisting with other people to get used to their missions, unless you don't plan on doing the DLCs. Levels will come naturally after that.

This is all great stuff, thanks everyone! Trying to play in freeroam with randoms is exactly as terrible as I thought, so I'm going to focus on the heists & collectibles & cargo drops and hopefully that will get me most of the way there. This is definitely a "drop in and play for like an hour a day" kind of game, rather than a devoted grind.

Alright, nearly a month later, I am level 99.5 and working my way through the heists, no AFKing necessary. Here's what I've learned:

- The Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack hooks you up with a bunch of offices and businesses that help you grind out in-game cash. For $10 it's just OK, but if you can get it on sale for like $5 it's totally worth it.

- Earning RP is mostly the same as earning money, and money is all about optimizing time. Buying supplies seems expensive, but stealing supplies takes time that you could be spending on more profitable missions, so it's actually cheaper to pay up front. Buy supplies for your bunker/MC businesses/nightclub, then do CEO import/exports while you wait for supplies to turn into goods, then sell the bunker/MC/nightclub goods, and repeat.

- The Buzzard is your #1 best friend, and worth every penny you'll spend on it.

- Diversify! Double RP bonuses change every week, and are by far the most effective way to level up. The PVP games aren't great unless you win, but I got a week of 2x RP contact missions, and a week of 2x RP crate sales, and those made up the bulk of my levels.

- Get the collectibles! There are 214 total between cards, action figures, signal jammers, and movie props. They add up fast and can be done in a solo session. Peyote gives a whopping 6K RP each, and they regrow every 24 hours. On the same note, do the Red Dead Online tie-in missions for quick cash.

- Play in a solo session. Public lobbies are infested with hacked accounts and griefers who fly around the city with jets and hoverbikes with homing missiles. The bonus you get from crowded lobbies isn't worth the stress of losing an entire shipment to a 14 year old with their dad's credit card number.

If you can afford it, the oppressor mk2 with missiles is probably the best for crates. Way better than the buzzard because how  easy it is to land the hover bike compare to the buzzard. Saves so much time. Not to mention, the buzzard is made out of cardboard. I've farmed enough cash from 2x crates week and it's well worth the investment.

That's 100% true, it depends on your end goals. The Buzzard is cheaper up front and you can call it directly from the CEO menu. The Oppressor is faster and you can call it through the Motorcycle Club menu (or through the Terrorbyte). If you're into grinding all the businesses, you want a Terrorbyte anyways so you can start missions from anywhere, and at that point you may as well start saving for the Oppressor. If you just want to get enough money to buy Heist cars and fire the orbital cannon, I don't think it's as necessary.

doing random custom LTS activities from the quick job menu gives you more money and RP than you could imagine especially since most the lobbies are usually filled up full with 30 players and the gamemodes themselves are pretty enjoyable especially if you're plying with friends, the other options would be the double or triple money and RP modes every week as someone else mentioned above both of those will give you a quick boost towards level 100
