PS5 ability to delete parts of a download?

hoping its true, would be nice. Play campaign of Spiderman, delete it while still having Miles installed. Or the Single player deleted after Black Ops.

 

any further clarification would be nice. Seems we still no so little about the ps5

For me if I hardly play multiplayer, if I do not have to keep it installed I would love that.

This is from the Playstation Blog post about Spider-man. The Remaster is a separate download, so you'd be able to delete it separately anyway.

 

I trust what Cerny says, generally. It'll probably depend on the game developer to allow/designate parts that can be deleted.

I think Activision will probably do this with Call of Duty since with Modern Warfare they have broken the downloaded up

Maybe having the ability to separate the multiplayer from single player, remove the DLC from base game, detach prologue, break away the epilogue, pick and choose different modes, etc. who knows...We'll see.

It's a useful thing especially with the PS5 only having 825GB of space on launch, we'll need the space.

Gonna be less than that since the console will reserve space. Probably going to be more like 700 gigs

They do that already when they charge us extra $$$$ to download the parts they stripped out and resold as DLC.

i just hope there isnt some BS like if i want to play Persona 5 Royal on ps5 (why i havent started it tbh), it's installed at 38.99GB or something. Is it gonna stay 38? or will it have a ps5 update and add extra GB?

That's a pretty good feature for in the beginning because there probably aren't much off the shelve external hard drives on the market right now that are fast enough for the PS5.

 

Edit: Good feature for gamers, not trophy hunters.

Are you sure it's not a 1TB drive with 175gigs for reserve space?

They don't typically list the storage of consoles with available space versus the max, as reserve varies over time due to updates.

The tech to do this is there, just comes down to whether the devs do it. I mean, do they really want people deleting single player aspects when they plan on releasing and advertising DLC in game for example?
