gernboes
I started yesterday on ace difficulty, and the first mission wasnt really that bad... A few deaths but the checkpoints are pretty generous. The second mission though... Well, there are a few ties and two bigger ships you have to destroy, but i cant even get near them, they just rip me apart... And i dont even see what i could do differently/better... Any tips? I tried fighting first the ties, but cant seem to manage to keep the bigger ones at a distance... Has anybody Finished the campaign alreay and can tell if you can redo missions on ace and keep upgrades or whatever to your ship? If there are upgrades at all... Rando-Calrisian-
I'm playing on veteran and am finding it challenging so ace must be hard I assume. Shield management (diverting shield power to front back or balanced) by holding square made it easier. It must be essential on ace. The game introduces this in mission 3 I think. Maybe you can start using it earlier in mission 2? When using the X wing I would never put all power to lasers as you are too slow and shields don't recover. I would alternate between balanced and max shields. Edited October 2, 2020 by Rando-Calrisian-
Carnage0702
I'm on mission 4 on Ace difficulty and its definitely very challenging. My advice; -You'll wanna focus on learning maneuvers to get behind enemies (slow down and turn, speed up with Left on the D-Pad, also I turned up all the sensitivity related things to 70%) -Try your best to mark enemies with X and then hit Triangle to make your team attack that enemy -When you hold L2 you can assign your team to specific enemies and I ALWAYS use the "Last Attacker" -Hold Triangle for supply drops that heal you -Use L1 to heal whenever you can -Try to stay close to your team Edited October 2, 2020 by Carnage0702

I managed to get the trophies for Ace, but oddly enough, after I turned my PS4 off and went to make a cup of tea and came back for some Multiplayer a few hours later, noticed all my medals were gone as well, clearly a bug and I'm not looking forward to going back and having to do all the medals trophy and right at the end it bugs out and reset me again, might wait a while before I look at doing the platinum on this one.
Tomy_IV
Ace combat games are harder. In this game i found mission 10 the hardest. and mission 12. mission 14 was hard when defending those 2 ships
eVo-Godslayer
Ace isn't that hard ask supplys use command attack or whatever you call that mark and triangle and manuvers I mean don't get me wrong it isn't easy but when you get the hang of it it will be easier and btw return to hanger for resupply and health it makes it way easier
geovra
It’s doable...the first 2 missions are somewhat annoying hard because you don’t have anything unlocked (countermeasures, tagging enemies etc).
zzhbkk
I finished the first 2 missions on ace so far but I’ve gotten 100% of the multiplayer trophies already. It’s challenging in that I’ll die a handful of times on a check point or two but I don’t get to the point of throwing a controller. The biggest challenge to me he been having to go back to basics bc I don’t have my fancy toys for load outs. Boost/drifting has been indispensable so far. I’ll tag 1-3 ties, boost away and drift to turn around. Shield management and healing/requesting resupplies is important to keep up with too. For anyone that’s beat it in ace, does the difficulty of the missions go up as you get further or does it stay pretty consistent from mission to mission? I just finished and I agree with the others that it gets much easier once you unlock the ability to command your squad. In some missions you can also fly to the hangar if you’re low on health and have to wait ages for a refuel. The only part I had some trouble with later on was the Lindon boss fight because you’re on your own, but you can still fairly easily keep away from him if you’re low on health. I guess you can also make some missions harder on yourself by choosing the wrong ship. Personally I don’t like using the bombers on ace because of how slow they are- your health just gets chewed up. Thanks! I just finished it too and now I see what everyone was talking about a lot better. I was curious about it and couldn’t find the answer posted anywhere else... If anyone is wondering, you get all the difficulty trophies at the same time by finishing it on Ace.
Gottesurteil
Lmao, Ace is ridiculous. I just beat the full campaign on it, and I wasn't sure if the glitches were fixed, so I hadn't ever TOUCHED MP until i beat the campaign ujust in case. Got all 4 difficulty medals, which was nice. But. Holy. F***. The difficulty is redonc. Just did a bunch of Fleet vs AI, and then a Dogfight or three. In Ace campaign, if you TOUCH anything you die. Here you can at least nick a few walls without instantly combusting lol. I wasn't sure what health levels MP is vs campaign (i.e., do things die like on Pilot, or Ace, or Veteran, or what?). But yeah.... Ace is much harder than the MP. Frankly it feels VINDICATING at being able to kill people, and not have to abuse terrible mechanics to survive lol. I'm not a terrible waste of space! lol
Darwock-UK
Does anyone know if you also have to beat the two prologue missions on Ace for the trophy? There are no medals for difficulty/completion on those, so I hope the answer is no...

P_Pigly_Hogswine
Question: can I leap frog the difficulties? I.e I do mission 1 on easy and get all medals, then replay it on ace. Then move on the mission 2 on easy and rinse repeat.
trojbrown40
I was able to do mission 1-9 last night on Ace. The hardest part was shooting down your own team's missles and protecting the rebel fleet since you are unable to heal yourself. (Mission 5 I think?) The rebels are shooting at you, the missles are very fast and even when you mark them, your team doesn't shoot them down. Very frustrating but after 18-20 tries, finally got it. Other tips, stay away from the big capital ships, they eat you alive. I found it easier to get within 1000-900 away, mark the target, tell your team to attack and fire your lock on missles and turn around and get out of there. Rinse and repeat. The closer you get, they tear right through you. Also, skip the optional objectives. There's no point on Ace Edited December 7, 2020 by trojbrown40 add
Patrin18
Just started this and got through first 8 missions with no real difficulties. I was surprised I managed to pop a few optional Ace medals besides just finishing mission. There are a few points, generally anything with escort as you need to keep both your own ship and others alive but this isn't as near as hard as I expected. Compared to pilot, which was my first run, the only real difference is the need to tone down the gungho! Throwing caution to the wind and charging capital ships that the lower difficulties allow you to do (does feel bad ass).
TheUnkerKarcus
Compared to Ace Combat series Ace difficulty, how hard is Ace mode here? Also just found out that its a cockpit view only for this game, but does it have a target tracking feature or anything similar to Ace Combat's hold triangle to track target? S ranking Ace Combat on Ace difficulty was much harder. You only need to finish the missions in Squadrons. In terms of the actual difficulty, the first few missions were a bit frustrating as you only have one ship to choose and no upgrades. You die quick but once you get the feel of power management, unlock squad orders and a few other ships it's fine. You have a targeting computer and can cycle through targets in area or lock onto what is in front and it tracks it. No need to hold a button. You can also cycle through targets by type e.g. enemies, capital ship subsystems etc.
