I think that I'm having issues playing games with HDR turned on.

A few months ago I bought a Samsung 7 Series UHD TV. The TV supports HDR, but I've been noticing some problems when doing so. For the most part games look fine, but anytime I'm playing though a scene in a game set at night or in a dark area, the game is nearly unplayable because I can barely see a thing. For reference the HDMI cable that I'm using is the same one that came with the PS4.

There’s a lot of different interpretations of HDR by each manufacturer and sometimes even in different products from the same manufacturer. 
 

You might want to check out some TV enthusiasts forums for your model TV and see what tips they have about HDR and Settings you can adjust.

 

Or just try playing with it off and see if that helps.

Do you change your gamma when you start up a game for the first time like they ask? Because I've learned 9 times out of 10 it's better to leave it as is.

I've been having similar issues - the HDR in a lot of games just seems truly godawful, either that or my settings are the problem. It seems 50/50 that HDR just results in games being so dark that I can barely play them.
