Popular Post bosstristan
"Please note that this feature will not actively monitor or listen in on your conversations – ever – and it’s strictly reserved for reporting online abuse or harassment." Previous post: https://gamerant.com/ps4-voice-party-chat-record-moderation/ Beware, Sony is watching you. Now they can randomly listen to what you say and pry in your privacy? They can ban you for swearing or having the wrong thinking? WTF! Edit : so apparently Sony sent a notification in order to warn users that other users may record their voice and report you. Popular Post DaivRules
Sony probably doesn't want a recurrence of something that have experience with: https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2015/11/14/why-the-paris-isis-terrorists-used-ps4-to-plan-attacks/#651ba5e97055 There you go, terrorists ruined it for everyone. Just like everything they do. Also probably useful to fully quote Sony's actual wording on the matter: "Please be aware that voice chats in parties may be recorded and sent to us by other users. By participating in voice chats, you agree to your voice being recorded."

Or is it only if someone in the party reports you. Also, there's a fine line between such behavior (the content of the link) and stuff like swearing or else. That's the latter I'm worried about. Popular Post djb5f
Holy overreaction. They won’t ban you for swearing or wrong thinking whatever that is. Use some common sense please. It is their Network, of course they need to ensure criminal or other nefarious action is not taking place over it.

I'm worried about that new privacy update and I'd like clarifications on the matter. You should not take everything fro granted and assert they won't ban for such things. Nothing that should matter to anyone, but I don't want to suddenly be banned because I swore or something. So apparently it's nothing too concerning :

Right, so you're cool with Apple or Verizon or Google T-Mobile or Facebook randomly listening to anything you might say? It's their network, after all...

Great argument. Only people who have something suspicious to hide would be bothered with random people being able to listen to everything they talk about with others, that flawed way of thinking was never used to justify systematically spying on people at all. Is it too much to ask to at least know all the details of the dick they want us to swallow? Not all of us can casually and completely deactivate our gag reflex like some of you, nor are we willing to.

In order to follow the rules we need to know what they are and how they will be applied. Sony has not been transparent about these things with the exception of big issues. That is a significant problem.

You disagree with people being concerned about it, then you are "curious" to know how someone can even be concerned about the potential of someone listening in to private conversations, implying that they need to have something to hide to even be concerned about being spied on in the first place, and now you want to backpaddle and act like you did not mean anything with that. Anyone with a brain can clearly see what you are doing here. You are free to have that mindset, I know a few people like you who think this way, but don't act like the concerns are not valid just because you do not personally care about being recorded and listened to by people you do not know, or you have no one to talk to anyway, people are right to at least be concerned and demand details about the potential risks for them. It isn't just being spied on that concerns people btw, people should be somewhat used to that by now, but some Sony mod potentially applying a ruleset to these private conversations that becomes more unclear as time goes on, putting an account at risk for things said in jest, and people who use their heads a little can see all sorts of fucked follow up policies making this even worse as time goes on. If the policy does not bother you or you are even fine with it and would welcome more changes to kill all hints of perceived privacy, why do you even bother partaking in this topic?
