Popular Post draakon50
This game has way too many challenges. There are at least 4 unique ways the game needs to be beat for trophies and many more ways to traverse it just for some entries in the journal. However, some of the rarest trophies as of right now actually have several key strategies that make them much less daunting. So, I wanted to write them up here since I'm lazy / don't have time to write a full guide. Millionaire - End a run with $1,000,000 or more in a non-seeded, single-player run. Currently the rarest non-platinum trophy, but much easier compared to Low Scorer and Speedlunky. The first thing here is to pay attention to the first 3 words - "End a run". It might imply that you need to get 1 million gold and then beat the game, but in reality, you can just die afterwards, that counts as well. The best way to get this is with the following 2 steps: Get 400k gold before reaching 6-3 Steal the treasury of the Palace of Pleasure in 6-3 by turning all the jewels into diamonds. I'm not sure what the rules for placing links to other videos is, so I'll try to write this in text. For the first half, I've seen 3 main strategies that are used for this part, including the one that I used. Looting the mini-treasuries guarded by shopkeepers and turning its contents into diamonds. This will need extra bombs, will permanently anger shopkeepers and comes with the additional risk of having to awkwardly maneuver the ghost around quick enough, but the result is between 60k-100k per treasury, possibly even more gold depending on the depth, so really, if you go around all the levels then you'd need to loot only 2-3 of them to get all the gold needed. Stealing the Black Market and generally playing through the game, optionally visiting the City of Gold. The idea here is to just get as much equipment as possible and still stealing treasuries whenever possible, but not turning jewels into diamonds. The consequence here is way more shopkeepers coming after you in subsequent levels (a "perk" of the Black Market), though this also means getting more gold from them. Getting as many bombs as possible and going into the City of Gold. Turns out, 40 bombs is enough to blow up more than 300k worth of walls and jewels whenever entering this place. Combined with casual exploring, as long as you have the gold to purchase the Hedjet/bombs and not steal anything, this would be the least stressful way to get everything needed, provided you're lucky enough to actually get this many bombs. Now that all that is over, the Palace of Pleasure is.... slightly easier. The first thing to do is to get rid of the guard outside the entrance, killing him or making him drop down is fine. Then, continuously keep entering and exiting the palace, exploiting invulnerability frames. The guards will group up and end up shooting at each other. Eventually, the amount of guards should thin out enough to grab a shotgun and finish the rest from afar, but if that is still too risky, consider dropping a bomb to the entrance from outside. The floor of the inside should blow up, opening the basement where they can fall in to give more breathing space. Once clear, you want to go into the basement and bomb it to reveal the big treasury. Put all the chests together in the bottom left corner, shoot them all open with a shotgun, and place some ropes for a quick climb back up. If none of the guards can reach this spot, then all you have to do is wait until the ghost shows up, turns the jewels into diamonds, quickly climb the ropes and go left, wait a bit, then drop back down for 600k gold. And... that's pretty much it. Unfortunately, I don't know if the gold gotten from finishing the game also counts. Seen It All - Complete the Journal A lot of entries are things that you will likely do due to having trophies tied to these places, or you're already aware of what to do. There is one thing to emphasize here though - Seeded runs count for Journal Entries. What does this mean for you? Out of all the runs that don't count for any trophies, the eggplant run is the hardest, and all of it can be mostly trivialized (Note - seeded runs are unlocked by unlocking enough characters until you can climb to the surface of the moon, where a wooden totem awaits) . The seed "ABACAB00" Has a jetpack and a bomb box in 1-2 that can be bought without stealing when you route the best way to grab all gold in the first two levels, an altar in 1-2 with enough enemies plus pet to guarantee a Kapala, has a guaranteed present to purchase in Tide Pool 4-3 with an altar on the right side of the map, All steps to the Sunken City can be ignored since the Ushabti is always the Tall Onyx Vortex one in the same spot, and finally, the spot to place the Eggplant Child is right next to the beginning of 7-1. All of the luck required in a legitimate run is not necessary at all to finish this. If you might be worried that getting Seen It All might make other trophies unachievable (they could be tied to journal entry unlocks), that doesn't appear to be the case, since I unlocked Seen It All before Parenthood. Speaking of: Parenthood - Wake the Eggplant Child in a non-seeded run. This trophy would still technically be a nightmare, due to the luck needed for a present and altar in the same level, except shortcuts don't invalidate this. Start at the Olmec shortcut and go to Tide pool. At 4-2, if you don't see an altar, restart. If you do, make your way into the water and to the bottom right corner. There should be like a mini-wooden cavern thing with a 2-tile large entry width. What you do here is lure the big fish over to this spot and then just whip it to death. The entry isn't big enough for the fish to get in, but he will still aggro towards you, getting about 4 whips in each time. He seems to die at around 50 whip hits, and when he does, drops a present. Now, get the present towards the altar, and try your best to get the eggplant to 5-1 to the Moai head shrine. Survivor - Complete the Sun Challenge in a non-seeded run. Oh my god Derek keeps patching this place to be more difficult. Almost all the strategies currently online have been patched or made harder. The most important thing that I can suggest is that you only need to do this once. In case you beat this and accidentally die before getting to the Cosmic Ocean, It's better to just kill Tun and bomb your way to the arrow. The best strategy that works right now is the upper corner strategy. As soon as you start, make your way to the upper corner of whichever side you had to start moving towards (if the entrance points left, the upper-left and vice versa). At this point, standing on the respawning tiles, whenever an enemy spawns on the area above, whip immediately so that they would fall down. Despite this, there are 2 major issue with this. Witch Doctors. I swear he intentionally also patched the game to make these guys spawn more often. Whenever you whip them down, they'll just fall on the next platform and their skull is too close, making it likely to get cursed unless you drop down to get rid of them. The platform you're standing on can break simply by a stunned enemy falling on it, making it a very delicate process of making sure you don't get stunned either, otherwise it's an instant frag to death. Thats all of the annoying trophies that I can think of. In case anyone wants to ask about something else (specific Journal entries?), I can give as many pointers as I can on how I got them.
Overlord_Haze
For some reason I thought that using a shortcut would invalidate the Parenthood trophy, but your method totally works! Thank you so much!

Also another tip is to win the Clone Gun in the challenge, and bring it with you to Babylon, at which point you can replicate 3 of the chests before ghosting. With that you don't need to worry about collecting other money. That's what I did when I went for the trophy:
