Deluziion90
Hi all, I would love to return to nioh2 to finish the dlcs but I’m a bit stuck on how to. main game at release I went all out with a ninjutsu build including gear+max level everything. You could tell I one shotted close to everything. however I recently tried the first dlc and was already having troubles with normal mobs. My question is how am I able to reroll. Do I need to farm a new set and start all over again or is there any other “fast” way to get a bit back and start the first DLC. Kinda feels like I wasted over 100 hours on farming this current gear
ZeromusF4
Im at work right now so I cant find the names but there is books in the shop that lets you either reroll all your skill points or all your stat points. No need to start over. As soon as you get to the next difficulty your current gear wont really matter so don't feel like you have lost too much. Try a spear build? Long range and health stat is your damage stat. Get enough ninjitsu for that one that resurrects you when you die. Put a few points into magic for the healing magic and the stamina recovery magic. edit - just remembered that the stat point book just gives you all your souls back, don't use it and then go die or something silly, just put them right back into new stats Edited October 17, 2020 by ZeromusF4

You can reroll any time, but you shouldn't have to. As far as I can tell, they went relatively easy on the nerfs this time. I'm still rocking my original Ninjutsu build (Flying Kato set) and don't feel the need to reroll. I mean, on Dream of the Demon I'm getting one shot by just about everything, but that's a different story lol.
BKnocheese
The item Zeromus is talking about is called the Book of Reincarnation. If you've played through the game, chances are you probably have at least one. If not, you can buy it at the blacksmith for 10,000 gold. What it does is give you all your "souls" back and puts you at level one. From there, you can re-level yourself to your preferences.

Kinda feels like I wasted over 100 hours on farming this current gear What difficulty are you talking about? If you are going for 100% (which of course you are ), then you will have to play the DLC on Dream of the Demon. Now, to even unlock the DLC on that difficulty, you will have to play through roughly 75% of the base game on that difficulty. If you haven't yet unlocked DotD and your current gear is from lower difficulties.. then they are obsolete anyways. In that case, I would recommend thinking about a build and farming the required gear on your journey through the base game DotD. Once you unlock the last region, you will also unlock the DLC and will hopefully have a build capable of tackling that content. Personally, I didn't bother doing any of the DLC stuff on lower difficulties. DotD is the true game anyways. As for a personal recommendation.. I rock a Poison Dual Sword build, and unfortunately status ailments are not that useful on DotD, especially not against bosses. I would recommend a Ki-destruction or a Singularity (or Versatility) build using Purity. That's what I would do had I the time to grind for a new build from the start. Deluziion90
Thanks for all the suggestions and tips. I went pretty far on NG+ With my ninjutsu build before any DLC released and didnt touch anything from the DLC. So starting with Dream of the Demon is a long way off . But I'll keep the reroll stuff in mind I forgot about that and probably will focus on a different strong build to get the dlc's done

I stopped playing half-way through NG+. When the first DLC released, I just quickly unlocked Dream of the Demon and played through all the available missions until I unlocked the last region (takes a while...) while farming gear and money to put together a decent build. If I remember correctly, I 100%ed the first 4 regions and then did all side missions on the next 3 regions (main missions take longer, so I thought that would be the best way to proceed). At around level 260, I finally unlocked the first DLC and went straight for it on DotD. Getting enough proficiency for the new weapons is extremely fast on DotD (takes literally 10 minutes of regular play to get to 120k), and the regular mobs are manageable. The disadvantage of playing through the DLC on DotD only is that learning the bosses can be a bit rough, given that they can one- or two-shot you (depending on your build of course). But tackling them on NG you would be the one destroying them so I don't think you would learn anything from those fights either ? Using a couple of Quick-Change scrolls, you should be able to learn the fights decently quickly. Edited October 20, 2020 by Arcesius
Deluziion90
So I wanted to give it another go and I think I started on the hardest immediatly when I made this topic. (My bad :D) Just started with the Tengu DLC with my current maxed out ninjutsu build and I'm just melting through it xD. First boss was 5 seconds at most. Guess I'll just get the game to 98% and leave NG++ for what it is. I'm a completionist for sure but spending another 50+ hours getting overpowered gear just isn't worth my time. Still got a lot of other games I want to finish. Edited November 1, 2020 by Deluziion90
