KYC 14 (Starts 1st of November 2020 and ends 30th of November 2020)

 

 

Welcome back for another exciting edition of the Kill Your Completion series. This is the 14th iteration, so most of you probably have an idea of what goes on here, but if you are new to the site or this corner of the forums, here's the previous edition of the thread KYC 13.

 

 

The Premise
Participants will each choose a list of at least 5, and up to 10 0% games (or any number in.between) from their backlog and post them here so everyone can follow along. These games don't have to be pre loaded on your profile, as long as you own them already and haven't earned a trophy they count. Participants will start a new game from that list every few days for the next month. They WILL then post their thoughts on each game, and write a short review on the final day for each game. This can take any shape or form each person desires.

 

I would prefer people do 5 games for 6 days each, 10/3, but anything between would be acceptable. I would like if people could be a little more prompt with their reviews. I understand stuff comes up. However, if every single review is three games rolled into one, 4 days late, you're not trying very hard.  I also like to see people get the minimum 3 hours per game, so I feel like more than 10 games would be cutting each one too short,

 

The starting time is hwnever the 1st of November begins for you.

A complete and utter dis-regard for your completion rate (for the next month)

Say you want in
Post your list of the games YOU ALREADY OWN that you haven't started.
Post your completion percent for S&G.

Game Selection Suggestions
These are just suggestions, this will have no bearing on you being added to the event. These are just things that I think make for a more interesting selection of games overall.
- Variety is The Spice...: Try to avoid having more than 1 or 2 of the same type of game on there.
- Try Something New or Different - A list filled with AAA games/remasters that you've already played, from only two different series, is boring.
- Don't choose all games that all have average completion times under 10 hours: You're not fooling anybody. Sneaky participant is not sneaky.

 

TL;DR

• final day of sign ups will be the 1st of November (2020)
• the event begins whenever the 1st of March begins in your timezone
• pick 5 - 10 games that are at 0% and play them during the respective amount of days (examples: 5 games/6days each ; 10 games/3 days each).
• Games have to be a 0%, no exceptions.
• don't pick only short and easy games, that's not the point of this even.
• post your list of games
• do yourself a favour and install/preload your games on the system. Less time wasted for patches to download, etc
• each game should be played for at least 3 hours total, throughout the X number of days allocated to them (equal number of days for each game)
• write a review/impression/thoughts on the game you played, before moving on to the next one (final review is mandatory, regular updates are optional)
• If you don't want to miss the start of the event, follow the thread.

I think I've also finalized my picks for this round. Essentially I've picked games this time, that I just want to try out, but not actually care getting the plat for.

All these games have either 4 player co-op components or absurd online grinds. So here's to killing my completion for sure.

I know next to nothing about the franchise, but bought two of the games. Lol. The other is on PSP, though, so I don't know if I'll ever play it. This one was only $5, so if it's terrible, at least it didn't cost much.

It's not terrible, it just felt kindo of bland after a while.

The PSP game is getting a remake soon, it was announced earlier this year.

 

I wouldn't recommend the first Extella much either, but I really enjoyed the sequel.

I don't have a high completion but have a backlog that needs to be worked on its a plus that I also want to get better a reviewing games. I was interested in KYC 13 but had joined the site to late so I really want to join this time since this is my first time (this will be my first event on the site) I will do 5 games.

Count me in! My 12th KYC event!! As always, thank you to @voodoo_eyes for hosting the event.

 

I am will go with just five games this session, and they will be on the shorter side. Why? 
1. I just moved. And it’s not fun living out of boxes. Thankfully, it’s an upgrade and not a downsize. But I am having the hardest time finding just about everything.

2. The game I was most excited to finish from KYC 13 was Uncharted 4. So as my profile shows, what game remains unfinished? Uncharted 4!  

  My plan was to knock this out before the move, but then the Great Mad Max Platinum Sprint of October commenced and I jumped in for that. And I gotta say, it was well worth it. Took 70 hours to get the plat, but I really had tons of fun with the game, experienced no glitches, and enjoyed the experience with the PSNP community.  So I would like to continue my Uncharted 4 story playthrough during the event. Of course, each game will get at least the three hour time allotment.

 

I will have a list shortly. Good to see some familiar faces in this one, as well as some new blood! Have fun everyone!!

Alright, so I’m doing the 6 game/ 5 day setup. All games are on the PS4 bc I have no idea which box has my PS3 in it.

 Here’s my List:

 

1. Help Will Come Tomorrow - I know next to nothing about this game, other than it takes place in Tsarist Russia. That’s right in my History Wheelhouse, so let’s hope this game hits a home run.

 

2. Bomber Crew - I think it’s a management game with WWII bombers. Please give me an option to fly the Lancaster! 
 

3. Storm Boy - Need a short game in this time slot. Let’s hope there’s some substance to this game instead of just being a Trophy Whore’s Delight.

 

4. Need for Speed: Payback - The latest PS+ game. This fulfills the driving/racing requirement for the KYC list. 
 

5. Smoots Summer Games - This fulfills the kid-friendly requirement for this KYC list.
 

6. My Brother Rabbit - Artifex Mundi game that doesn’t fit the Artifex Mundi mold.

Game #1 - RWBY: Grimm Eclipse - Preview

I've always only associated Rosster Teeth with the achievement hunter youtube channel. Well apparentyl this is the first game they released. So here we are, a game based on an anime by the same name, which I haven't watched or ever heard of. Furthermore, it's apparentyl pronounced "Ruby",.

It's supposed to be a 4-player co-op hack/slash game, which also seems to be the big selling point of the game. Well, I'm playing this solo, and having listened to a fair share of revies for this game, I don't have high hopes for it.

 

In any case, I'm hoping it'll have some variety t it, be it characters, enemies and locations.

I received this game as a birthday present and as a belated halloween game, it fits my theme. I do not know too much about the game itself but I know it had a great reception and fits well into the Arkham universe. I do know the story itself is short but has riddler challenges, now in full 3d for more of a difficulty. I may not start exactly tomorrow, I have a paper to write and did no work today since it was the holiday and spent the day doing family stuff instead. Good luck everyone  on day one and enjoy some new games. i cant wait to see some good reviews.
