Popular Post DamagingRob
Game 1, Final Review - Doom Well, I definitely liked it. And spent quite a bit of time playing it the past 5 days. Though I'd say I prefer Wolfenstein by a large margin. That one has a better story. I don't even know why your character is doing what he's doing, because he never talks. But it is fun to play, so there's that. And the soundtrack is amazing. Probably the highlight of the game for me. Boss fights are also really cool. But continuing from where I left off, you get a lot more guns to play with, and a variety of different demons to slay. It does get a bit tedious, though. Almost every level has challenges, not to mention the abundance of collectibles to find. And guns all need to be fully upgraded, by performing certain types of kills. This forces you to look at guides a lot/play a certain way. Often you can farm kill related challenges/gun upgrades wherever, by dying or reloading the checkpoint. But it's still so much stuff to do, and sucks some of the fun out of it. But the actual gameplay is very fun. You get a chainsaw, which can basically function as an emergency ammo refill. Or to instantly kill a nasty enemy. Very violently rips any enemy in two, and a ton of ammo drops as a bonus. Obviously, such a powerful weapon is also limited in its use. Only the weak pistol can be used infinitely. But it'd be no challenge at all, otherwise. There's also an Arcade mode, where you can play the levels and try to get a high score. A multiplier builds up as you kill enemies, and slowly drains with time. Or rapidly drains when you take damage. I played quite a bit of multiplayer, too. It's fun enough, with a variety of different modes. Ones I played included standard team deathmatch, capturing and holding points on the map, one where killing players freezes them and teammates can thaw them out by standing close, and a soccer type where you try and score the ball in the other team's goal. There are also non-team games, but I didn't really want to play solo. Besides trying to kill players with whatever weapons you have equipped, you also get the chance to play as demons in some modes. But it's kind of a crapshoot. The item spawns on the map, and everyone rushes to get it. :/ It wasn't terribly difficult to get sometimes, though, and I managed to get all the kill trophies done. Now, I just wish the last two DLC trophies didn't exist.. I've played close to 60 games, according to my stats. But they say 6 hours of playtime, too.. I know it's been more real time than that. Maybe it doesn't count loading times, intermission, etc. And I'm at Echelon 2. To unlock the item needed for the last trophy, I need to be at least Echelon 8. So, I'm like a fourth of the way? So yeah, this is going to be a very stupid grind for two pngs.. The Plat is fairly lax, though. Barely have to play any multiplayer for that, if you don't want to. But yeah, I enjoyed most of my time with this. And slowly but surely, I will probably finish it. I'll give it a . Time played: I don't know. 30+ hours, probably. Trophy progress: 51/55 for 95% and an A rank. Completion Percentage: 93.34% (+0.01%) Next up: As I said before, I know pretty much nothing about this franchise. Lol. More of a filler game in a GameStop purchase, than something I genuinely wanted. Their 50% off sales usually require buying so many games, so it's probably not the only one like this in my backlog. But I did buy another one on the Vita, at one time (a PSP game with no trophies, though, so in the backlog it sits). So, I did have some interest in checking it out. No real clue what the gameplay is like, since it came in a generic case. I think a musou? Will find out soon enough.
Popular Post dark_moon689
1st Game Review - Observation I can't decide if I like this game or not. I enjoyed the story despite borrowing a lot from better/more interesting sci-fi tales. You played as S.A.M the A.I. that handles a space station in low Earth orbit, something happened and you have lost most of your data and access to the systems. Dr. Emma Fisher is a crewmate trying to fix you so you can help her sort this mess as the station is suddenly orbiting Saturn. Without spoiling anything the story is linear and very much on rails just solve a few puzzles and the next story bit will play. The puzzles are mostly simple and easy, but have no prompts or markers on what you are supposed to be looking for or doing. The lack of instructions is I believe a deliberate choice, Emma is requesting you the A.I. to solve things she has no knowledge off being primarily a medical doctor. You as the station A.I. are supposed to be faster at gathering /processing information and solving patterns/inputting information which if you do badly Emma's increasing frustration/desperation can be felt in her voice (I thought it was a neat detail), most "puzzles" are no challenge with passwords simply written down in sticky notes near the laptops, schematics with clear descriptions and document also just laying around for you to scan. Which takes me to the gameplay that consist on going around between the different fixed cameras you have access to and rotating and paning until the only few clickable/scannable bits show the interaction square and then go back to the console you want to use to input the information. Is boring and time consuming and it doesn't make the puzzles feel fun or clever, with the exception of maybe 2 or 3 of them that requiere a little thinking, everything else relies on memory or your ability to visually ransack each area. On occasion you also have access to a little sphere drone to access crevices or rooms where you have no cameras, I wasn't crazy about the controls for it. The environments are beautiful and the whole aesthetic is also very much inspired by certain movies, the station feels lived in and functional, the facial animations leave a lot to be desired looking empty and emotionless but the voice acting specially for Emma is really good, since you hear her a lot more often than you see her that is far more important. In summary, Observation would be an ok movie, and it is a pretty but ultimately lackluster game. The pacing is odd and more could have been done with both the story and the gameplay. Time played: Around 7-8 hours Game progress: 11/12 - 95% - A rank Original Completion: 54.29% Current Completion: 54.61% I missed one trophy, some other day I'll play again to get it (I missed a plushie and even thought I found it near the end of the game the interactions was no longer available to trigger) For the rest of the trophies the requirement is scan everything so S.A.M. can rebuild the lost memories (collectables which lucky you can track in-game) and when ominous Simon's says game comes up don't mess it up or ask for replay of the symbols. The rest is just story. I do not know which of the games I've chosen I will play next. Edited November 6, 2020 by dark_moon689 Typo
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #2 - Zombie Vikings - Revoew Time played: about 6h30m Trophies earned: 13/34 I beat the story, so I'll wrap things up early for this one. This was a cool game to be honest and fun for hte most +art. The visuals take a bit to get used to, as the characters have a weird somewhat disjointed look to the. It's kind of similar to Flipping Death in theat sense. Music and sound effects are pretty good, although the former seems to have only a few tracks. THe music seemed to repeat itself fairly often. This game is also fully voiced and the VA is pretty damn good. The wrting is humurous and silly and kind of stupid, butbut it fits this game and makes the whole thing light-hearted. Again this a co-op game and I think Streets of Rage and Golden Axe are accurate representations on what to expect. The VA enhances the experience and the game throws some lihjt puzzles and sidequests into the mix, apart from all the slaughtering you'll be doing. There are 27 levels in total, and only a few times it felt like playing co-op would've given you a clear advantage. That being said, it's still a lot of fun solo as well. The combat works pretty well and is fairly basic. You can attack, thrown, dodge, counter, jump and have a special attack that varies from character to character. Initially you'll have 5 characters to choose from, and unlock an additional one later throughout the story. Only the 4 main ones seem to have a role in the story and are shown in almost every cutscene. There are plenty of different weapons that you unlock throughout the game, most of them you'll have to buy with gold though. None of them are your standard "this one is better, than that one" though. Each have specific perks and some have drawbacks to balance things out. It's an interesting way to do it, but I didn't really like that system. For most of the game I stuck to 2-3 different weapons and never touched the other 20 or so that I had unlocked. Same goes for the runes, which are just a small boost to HP, speed, abilities or co-op play, of which you can only use one as well. The game itself is fairly easy, compared to most other beat 'em ups I've played. I think the platinum rarity is somewhat misleading. The real difficulty is getting 4 players ready to play this game. Which through my experience is an absolute nightmare even when creating a boosting session, so I won't even bother with it. Overall, a really solid game.
Popular Post Phantochi
Game #2 Final Impressions - Red Faction Guerrilla Remastered This is most similar to Just Cause. Run side missions to reduce the enemy's control of a certain area and unlock the main campaign missions, and those side missions are all the same, either go there and reduce a few structures to rubble, or kill some high valuable target that is hiding somewhere. Reducing structures to rubble is Red Faction's strength. Pretty much any structure can be destroyed, unlike Just Cause where many building's were immune to Rico's destructive power. But be careful, even though this is a game about destroying everything, debris instakills you when it falls on you. As you progress in the main campaign you unlock different weapons and gadgets that allows you to get even more creative when destroying stuff or killing enemies. But the combat here isn't as good as Just Cause, or Saints Row, i found that running around with the sledgehammer, that i like to call Mjolnir, was most effective, even against large group of enemies in the hardest difficulty, so i just ran around with weapons that would help me blow buildings like rocket launcher and grenades. Besides the destruction, everything else has aged poorly. The A.I. are braindead, the driving feels awful with every vehicle behaving exactly the same, and the predictable story is boring, i really didn't liked the main protagonist or any other character. Another gripe is the map. As you progress in the game you unlock new parts of the map, but they look all the same, and give you the same buildings, enemies, and side missions I can't comment on the multiplayer, i tried several times but there's no one playing this game besides me. There's also a mode called wrecking crew that you can play solo, but all it does is throws you in a map with a few buildings and you have to destroy everything before a timer runs out Overall, it's a 6/10 for me, it was fun at first, but after a few hours it feels like i've experienced the whole game already Time played: 6~8 hours Trophies earned: 6/57, 11%
Popular Post purgta
Game #1 - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves I really enjoyed the first game and had high expectations heading into the sequel. It met them for the most part. I felt the first game had a lot more of an adventure feel to it which I kind of preferred. Among Thieves felt way more like an action movie. That is not necessarily a bad thing. What it does well, it does very well. The characters were the main strength of the original and they continue to shine here. It is always fun to listen to Nate talk and interact with others. Chloe, a new character is interesting and has some nice conversations. Elena blows her out of the water though. The chemistry between her and Nate is great. While the joking flirting with Chloe was fun, I did not realise how much I missed the pure banter from Elena until it started up. The story itself, while a lot better than the original is still pretty weak. The game is even more linear than the original but this does keep the flow going. The main villain is a bit better than in Drake's Fortune but is pretty forgetable. The game takes you to a lot of different locations. They tend to work a lot better gameplaywise than storywise though. The action set pieces are a lot better in this one. The gameplay itself is still loads of fun. The platforming is pretty easy. I don't remember any difficult platforming sections. I found guns more fun to use in this one. In the original I found pistols my favourite but I used everything here. There are a lot more encounters you can use stealth compared to the first also. I did find the boss fights pretty terrible gameplay wise. They were either damage sponges or poor puzzle fights. The weakest parts of the game by far. The vehicle sections were better in this one too. Puzzles were fine. None were difficult but neither were they memorable. I had a lot of fun with this one. I probably preferred it gameplaywise over Drake's Fortune but I did miss the more classic adventure feel the original had. I do plan on playing the third eventually. I managed to get the platinum. Trophywise I only have time trials and brutal mode for the 100%. I will probably leave brutal for later although I kind of want to do the time trial ones while the game layout is still fresh in my mind. Trophy progress: 49/53 Completion percentage: 34.31%(+.0.23%). Next up is Baldurs Gate: Siege of Dragonspear.

Is it included in the Baldur's Gate + Baldur's Gate 2 copmpilation?

Popular Post be_minor
Dishonored 2 Final Review: Just like the first installment in the Dishonored series, I absolutely loved the limited time I spent in game. From the start, you know this is going to be more of the same with minor tweaks here and there (i.e. new powers, character choice, optional no-powers mode). While the additional powers can influence the way you tackle certain objectives, the gameplay stays relatively the same: be given a mission, tackle side objectives (or skip them), assassinate the target (or don’t). And just like the first game, maps offer many paths to reach your objective. I’ve only completed two missions, so I can’t speak to the quality of every environment, but what I have seen has been similar enough to the first game. Without spoiling too much, I’ve seen a beautifully detailed, yet simple throne room and the harbor of a new city. The latter juxtaposes Dunwall’s bleakness with its vibrant colors, a lot of white stone, and the lighting is a bit warmer. As I start the third mission, I’m on an Alcatraz-inspired island, with neutrals and a grey ocean surrounding me. The variation of settings has been one of my favorite aspects thus far. The new mission hub is also atmospheric. My character ends up on The Dreadful Whale, a decent-sized ship traveling across the kingdom to unravel the mystery of the crown killer. The ship has enough variety to entice me to explore, from the cramped engine room to the wide open decks above, overlooking the sea. I haven’t played enough to know how the environment changes (and I’m sure it will as we travel), but it already feels like a step ahead of Dishonored’s The Hounds Pit Pub. From a trophy hunter’s perspective, Dishonored 2 seems simple enough. Play a high chaos playthrough and earn all combat related trophies possible; play a 100% stealth, low chaos playthrough; and clean up with a quick no-powers run, collecting any missables along the way. My major gripe about this list compared to the first is that there’s no chapter select, so you’re forced to either follow a guide to collect everything missable or go for it all on your subsequent runs. And it’s a lot. You collect lore for the ship in between missions, and then paintings (like the first game) and decorative objects that sometimes require playing a mission a certain way. This would be a lot more manageable with chapter select, as it tells you how many collectibles you’ve found at the end of each mission. Overall though, a dedicated hunter should have no issue with this game. As long as you enjoy it, the platinum is within reach. Again, I haven’t finished the campaign, but as of now, I highly recommend this game to anyone that enjoyed the first, likes stealth games, or is looking for a relatively easy (with a guide) plat to bolster their numbers. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #3 - Anthem - Preview Developer:: Bioware Publisher: Electronic Arts Genre: TPS Price: 69,99€ (or get the disc version, as it cost 15 bucks at most) So this game, has been left and right. For the most part, because it didn't seem to live up to people's expectation. Personally I don't know why there were expectations in the first place, considering a dev tema that specialized almost exclusively in RPGs, is supposed to make a Third-person Shooter. I hold Bioware in high regard still, even if it's not the same team from the 90s anymore. All of the games I played from these guys, I enjoyed. I do have some doubts about this title though, as I get the feeling of a Destiny clone. Guess what, I do not like either of the Destiny games. My intention is to play through this solo, as supposedly it offeres a single player experience. Let's see if that's true, because it sure as hell hasn't been true for Warframe or Destiny, which are games that claimed exactly the same.
Popular Post AuroraHistoire
It's a Little Dark - Deadlight Directors Cut Deadlight is a cinematic platformer zombie game. You play as Randall, a very athletic survivor with very little personality, who gets the occasional traumatic flashback. The plot is that Randall gets separated from his friends because of a zombie attack (they're called shadows in the game but they're basically zombies). They all agree in the moment to meet up at the military safe zone across the city. The whole game is Randall's adventure getting to the military safe zone. The gameplay consists of platforming, some puzzle solving and a bit of shooting. Randall is very acrobatic and has a wide range of platforming abilities. They're all very responsive and feel natural to pull off. There is a stamina bar that's used up when hanging from ledges and the like but it drains fairly slowly; I never found stamina an issue when platforming. Stamina is used when melee attacking and it doesn't last long at all. Melee is unreliable at best, so I always tried to avoid doing it. Your other combat options are guns, a revolver and shotgun. The cool thing about guns in this game is that pressing L1 will only load 1 bullet/shell but if you rapidly tap L1, you can reload very fast. The guns themselves are very accurate and will kill a zombie if you shoot them in the head. The art style of Deadlight is very dark. Your character and the zombies are almost completely black, making hard to see zombies and even the character you're controlling sometimes. For about 75% of the game the art style didn't cause any vision issues but there was particular section where I had a lot of trouble. The environment was too dark to see, lost track of my character fairly easily and usually fell into some instant death trap. Oh yes, there ate a lot of hazards that will instantly kill you in Deadlight; most are fair but there are some nasty ones that give you a second to react. In addition to the story mode there is a survival mode. In survival mode, you're thrown into a level and have to scavenge weapons and ammo to survive while endless massive waves of zombies try to kill you. Survival mode has 2 new weapons, an assault rifle and molotov cocktails. The assault rifle is the only weapon that's good enough to keep you alive against the massive hordes but doesn't have a lot of ammo (I never found any supple points for assault rifle ammo). Molotov cocktails are very good at getting a massive number of kills but if you accidentally set yourself on fire (it very easy to accidentally set yourself on fire), you're dark, crispy and dead. I found survival mode very difficult to play the legitimate way and only lasted 6 minutes on my best run. Unfortunately, survival mode has two trophies tied to it; surviving for 13 minutes and 43 seconds, and getting 200 kills. There is one spot where you're mostly safe and you can farm kills, so those two trophies become plausible. Speaking of trophies, the list is fairly straight forward and simple with one major exception. The majority of the trophies are story, stuff you'll probably do naturally, and collectables. The collectables are done well; most are easy to find and there were a handful I missed because they were in tricky spots. There is a level select feature and all the levels are short so it's easy to go back and collect them. The game will even tell you how many collectables you're missing and what level they're in. The only trophy that is a true challenge is completing nightmare mode (it's the only one I haven't done yet). The thing that makes nightmare hard is that you can't save your game and there are only 2 checkpoints; one of them is at the start of act 2 and the other is at the start of act 3. Deadlight is only 3-5 hours long, so it could be worse, right? Deadlight is a very fun romp with good platforming. The story is a little blah and sometimes it's too dark to see what you're doing. Everything else is well done. I appreciate the challenge the trophy list has.

The problem is that it was made by bioware, if any other studio besides bioware made this game, people wouldn’t complain as much about story and characters, but because it is BioWare, there’s this huge expectation that Anthem can't live up to. Similar to what happened to Resident Evil Remake 3, people were expecting something like remake 2 or even something like the original, and just because it's not as good as the best games in the series, it's automatically bad for some folks

Popular Post Arctic Cress
Game #1 - Robotics;Notes Elite Time played: 7 hrs, 45 min Trophies: 15/50 (21% - D) Robotics;Notes Elite is another visual novel in the Science Adventure series. It's actually the 3rd game in the series, of which Steins;Gate is the 2nd, Chaos;Child (which I played for KYC 12) is the 4th, and Steins;Gate 0 is the 5th. Essentially I played the 2nd game first, jumped to the 5th and then played backwards from there. Wonderful. The 1st game has no official translation, either, and I don't really feel like looking for a decade-old anime at this time. Well, anyway... Robotics;Notes' main character is Kaito Yashio, a third-year in his school's robot club. However, instead of doing anything related to robots, he spends most of his time playing a fighting game on his phone called Kill-Ballad, where he is ranked fifth in the world rankings. Through three phases (this game's version of chapters), there's been a bunch of branching plotlines, including the Robot Club's building of a robot for a expo in Tokyo, which is being helped by a member of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency - Nae Tennouji, who you might recognize if you played Steins;Gate. However, the main plot is tied to a number of reports written by Ko Kimijima. Kaito discovers one of these reports hidden in an abandoned park that he frequently visits as a place to play his game in peace, and the report has successfully predicted some events that have happened in previous years, and also predicts another series of events in the current year (2019 in-game) and 2020 as well. Also, for those that have played either of the games that follow this one, know that the Committee of 300 is namedropped very early - each phase ends with a scene of several characters that have talked about certain events and the Committee as well. While most of the game is presented in the traditional visual novel format, there is a lot of content you'll miss if you just go through that. Each background can be scanned for geotags, which give extra information on characters or items in the background. There's an in-game version of twitter called Twipo - Kaito follows all his friends and can respond to their messages, while viewing some of the messages from his teachers and various news services. There are also some sequences where you control either a hobby robot or Kaito's character in Kill-Ballad and a sequence of buttons come up on the screen with a time limit to press them - the limit however is extremely generous and I haven't managed to fail any of them at this point. Even with almost eight hours in-game I haven't been hooked in this VN yet but the SciAdv series is (unfortunately) known for some pretty slow starts overall, so it might take a while for that to happen. Both of my opinions on Chaos;Child and Steins;Gate really depend on the second half of the game more than the first half, so I hope and expect to see more as the game progresses. Starting completion: 73.09% Current completion: 73.36% Difference: +0.27% I had to rush through a few quick platinums to help my team in TrueTrophies' challenge to secure a bonus, so my completion went up at this instance. That should be the only time that will happen. Next will be 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. I've played through the entire intro sequence already (and got no trophies). The only other Vanillaware game that I've played was the Muramasa: The Demon Blade remake/port for the Vita, which I liked a bit. Maybe I'll play Odin Sphere and Dragon's Crown at some point (since I own both) but I'll start with this one for now.
Popular Post DamagingRob
Day 1- Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star This is weird. Lol. The story, told mostly in visual novel format, is you are a "master" of the actual playable characters in the game, known as "servants." And they're not really people, but fragments of the moon turned into spirits? And you're taking over territories, for some reason. With the big bad, a girl with fox ears or something, attempting to do the same. You also have amnesia, and have forgotten many things. And the main girl, Saber, talks to you in between levels and is... overly friendly. No matter what gender you seem to choose. The gameplay seems fine, though. It is a musou, reminding me of the Pirate Warriors games the most. Smashing through hordes of enemies with and combos, taking over an area of the map, and then moving to the next. There's also a special attack, requiring energy that builds up over time. Then you have two things that make your playable character stronger for a limited time. One seems to only be usable once per level, and expands your energy bar by a lot. The other can be used multiple times, and causes Saber to... get naked!? But there's no nudity shown, and she simply changes outfits. I presume this transformation makes you deal more damage. You get graded on how much damage you take, territories taken over before finishing the stage, highest combo, and number of enemies killed. Managed an EX rank on the first stage, but got smacked around a little bit more on the second.. Don't really think it matters much, though. And I guess that's it for now. Doesn't seem like it'll be a great game, but doesn't seem bad either. Time played: Couple hours. Trophy progress: 7/53 for 10% and an E rank.
Popular Post be_minor
RAD First Impressions: I know very little about this game, but I saw gameplay during a preview for PSNow and think I might like it. RAD is a roguelite (I think I’m using that term correctly) with a funky, 80s themed art style. I’m never great at these types of games, but the style and mutations affecting a run seem too chaotic-fun to pass up.
Popular Post Lodbizarro
Game #1 review: Assassin's Creed Origins Time played 12 hours Trophies 3/51 AC:O has been a pretty fun experience so far sadly I didn't really have time to delve more into the game after the first 2 days. But I managed to get to the second area and got a better grasp of the crafting system. As I mentioned in my last update there was a bit of a learning curve especially when it came to the perk and skill trees now don't get me wrong I've played a lot of Rpg's they're one of my favorite genres but I didn't expect them to go so in depth for an AC game so it definitely took some getting used to but once I got the hang of it and used to/or tweaked the map layout I had a much better time or was able to focus more on story or gameplay. So far I like the main character Bayek not the most charismatic but has a cool mystique about him plus his motivation is relatable and can tell even though he's killing he really cares for his loved ones. Spoiler I especially loved the scenes with his son I really felt the love he had for him I also already talked some of the issues I had with the HUD unfortunately I didn't really get to play enough to find a setting I liked still for the time I played this game made a pretty good impression and I plan on continuing playing and working my way through it I'm thankful this event gave me the push to start this game and a reason to follow this adventure. Popular Post kingofbattle8174
Game 2 Review Overall Completion Beginning: 59.92% Current: 59.84% Trophies 1/22 2% E What a neat little game so far. So Little Nightmares is what I guess you would call an Environmental Puzzler. A bit like a platformer with some jumping and other things to move through the stages. The puzzle element is how you can move things around you to proceed. It reminds me of Ico, where the solution may not be apparent. Like at one time I tried to climb some board that were blocking a doorway to get through, I did not think at first to pry it loose. Or to use the shelves of a fridge as a ladder. Other times is getting the timing down to get through a certain portion or having to go back again. There are other dangers though like the slime creatures and the eyes that turn you to stone if they hit you. The eye sections remind me of the scarecrow sections from Arkham Asylum. A bunch of different collectables to look out for, lanterns and breakable statues. I am almost done with the first level but for now its time is done and getting ready for tonight begins the next game. Maybe I can get a bit more time before the real game of this KYC, Pathfinder. Next Game preview The Midnight Sanctuary A VN that is actually VR compatible. I want to try atleast some of the game in VR to see how it compares to some of my other VR games in the KYC. It is labeled as a horror game and I guess has some religious overtones as well. I think it is one of those where choices dont really matter. So there is not rophies for doing a different route, unlike some that make you do every route. And @ladynadiad I dont think there is any cringy taboo unlike your recent experience. Which would be nice since it comes up way too much in VN's. I am still trying to figure out why VN's use this cliche so much? Is it a cultural thing I am missing. Ok off the soap box, let us see tonight what this one is all about.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #3 - Anthem - Final Impressions Time played: around 15h Tropheis earned: 6/47 So this is a mixed bag. Nothing is terrible and nothing is great. Visually it looks prtty good when it comes to the environments. The characters however seem to have a discrepancy in thei visual quality, with some more prominent characters looking more detailed and more polishe, while the "filler" NPC look less so. I guess that is a normal prioritization, however there are only like 50 people in this game. Its not like it's a GTA or Watch Dogs where there are thousands of people roaming the streets. There are a few graphical issues though. Had texture clipping and there is a lot of texture pop-in. Now this might just be, because I'm playing on a regular PS4. Still, it shouldn't be a thing.that happens. Sound and voice acting is fine and music is solid as well. However there have been times where dialogue gets cut out. The gameplay has been solid so far, but I've just reached a point where it seemed like the game was about to block my progressions with online BS. Anyway, after a tutorial you get to pick one javelin (class) out of 4 and you'll be playing as that one until you reach a higher level and get to unlock another javelin This will go on until you can play as all 4. They all will share the same level and will have access to the loot you already got with any other class. Currently I have 2 javelins available to me and I0m level 8 or 9. Haven't gotten a single rare drop or higher in the +1' hours I played. So I am already not a fan of how the loot works in this game. So far the items I'm getting have been good enough to clear missions, but if there's loot drops in the game I want them to be a constant thing and be rewarding . Not get a ton of common and uncommon drops. It's something I absolutely despised about Destiny. Essentially the game boils down to the following. You go to the hub area, talk with NPCs to increase your rep get some quests and go on said missions. Those can be played solo or co-op. I've been doing the former,. There is also the option to free roam the open world map, which I was forced to do close to when I stopped playing, as no other missions unlocked. Well there was one mission, which I couldn't do, because pre-requesites locked me out of it. Apparently I had not found enough treasure chests for a door to open . THe combat is solid and straightforward. You get guns, and a melee weapon and go to town on enemies. You have access to special skills and throwing weapons as well. Most of the time the missions consist in getting to an area, interacting with something and the kill enemies that spawn, so you have something to do. It's also always been the same enemies for hte most part. SO yeah, not a whole lot of variety there. Here's the best part of the game, the flying. You can fly with your javelin, Iron Man styke and it works really well. It will overheat after a while, but if you fly unter a waterfall, it'll cool you down again and you just can keep going. Same applies, if you dive into water. Best flying mechanics in a video game ever. It0s a bummer, that free raom needs to be done in a shared world, and worse are the strongholds that can only be attempted in co-op. So essentially two-thirds of the game are not available for solo play. Furthermore it's a game that needs an online connection and it occasionally has connection issues. Here's the thing, so far I'm having fun. And after having returned from my free roam experience of blergh, I had a new mission waiting for me a the hub. So, if I keep getting these missions and rarely get forced to go treasure hunting or whatever then I might actually enjoy it enough for it to warrant a . Popular Post Phantochi
Game #3 final impressions - Trine 4 Trine 4 is a very forgiving and reasonably enjoyable 2D puzzle platformer. It sees the 3 heroes of the earlier Trine Adventures on a search for a missing Prince. For those who are unfamiliar with the Trine series, you get to play as three characters, a wizard, a knight, and a thief, each one with his own unique ability. These three companions are on a journey to save a prince from his night terrors that are wreaking havoc in the land. Unfortunately, you won't find much character development throughout the lackluster plot, so skipping over the rather forgettable story and cast, the gameplay is the main focus of Trine 4. Objectively, i think that if you like jumping around solving puzzles while looking for hidden gems and treasures you will have fun, if that's not your thing you might find it a little monotonous. There are some enemies to fight along the way but they are not particularly strong and you just try again if you fail. There were a couple of boss fights that were a little more interesting tho. But Trine 4 is basically puzzle after puzzle after puzzle after puzzle. After finishing a level, I've had my "let's solve a puzzle" fill for the day, and if you're not much of a puzzle gamer like myself, you'll have no trouble working out what you have to do throughout the majority of the game. Instructions tend to be visually straightforward like 'place a box here' or 'rope swing to over there'. But, if you're a puzzle veteran, there's a quite a few puzzles that aren't exactly comprehensible from a glance or even logical to solve, and this is where a big inconsistency exists between these easy puzzles and illogical 270 iq puzzles, i mean, some of these just require more thought and planning to realize a solution, however, there were many moments throughout the game where i had to cheese my way through much of the levels. Aside from puzzles, Trine 4 shines in it's soundtrack and atmosphere. The music matches each level's theme, and every sound throughout the journey came out right and never overstayed its welcome. I feel like many will buy and enjoy Trine 4 mainly for the visuals, like i am. Just from glancing at the screenshots and trailers, i knew i had to play this game. But it's one of those where it's gorgeous on the outside, but just bland inside. Unless you're a hardcore fan of the series, a puzzle platformer veteran, or you just want a mental breakdown, i'd advise just admiring the screenshots for this one. Time played so far: about 5 hours Trophies earned: 19/40, 27% for D rank Edited November 9, 2020 by Phantochi
Popular Post AuroraHistoire
Why is the Blood Pink - Danganronpa 1.2 Reload Danganronpa 1.2 Reload is one of those games that's multiple games in one. It's Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair in one game with one trophy list. I've only played several hours of Trigger Happy Havoc and haven't touched the second game. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc is a very good game. The plot is 15 high school students are prisoners in a high school they're not allowed to leave. Some unknown character is keeping them there for reasons I'm not far enough to know or understand. There is an annoying bear mascot thing that enforces the rules and encourages the students to kill each other but he doesn't seem like the true mastermind to me. Oh, the students are allowed to leave if they murder somebody and get away with it. All the students get a few hours to be detectives and try to figure who the killer is before there is a trial. The trial is basically held to figure out who the killer is before everyone votes. If the killer is found guilty, they're executed. If anybody else is found guilty, the killer gets to leave the school and everyone else is executed. Oh, whoever is behind the whole game knows who did it because they're are cameras everywhere and breaking them is against the rules; any rule violation is punished by death. The gameplay reminds me of Ace Attorney with a bit of Persona. Before someone gets murdered, have some time to hang out with the other students. You're allowed to choose who you spend your time with in a few limited time slots. Choose wisely since characters will die and you'll no longer be able to hang out with them. You gain new skills to help in trials by hanging out with people. Once somebody gets murdered, you walk around the school looking for clues until you find them all. Then you go to the trial and things get a little hard to explain. Other students will say things related to the case, mostly, and sometimes the text will be a different color. It might be a contradiction that you need to shoot with a gun, with the correct "evidence bullet" to prove the contradiction. It makes more sense when you play the game. There were a few other mini-games in the trail, like hangman and a rhythm game. Trials are a fun time even if I don't understand what is happening. I really enjoy Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. The story is very engaging. The gameplay is good too. I spent 7 hours playing the game and I didn't notice. The blood in this game is pink for reasons unbeknownst to me. I don't object, I just find it strange.

Are you talking about my recent griping about Song of Memories in the Fall/Winter Backlog Challenge thread? Believe it or not, cringy taboo like that is not as common in VNs as you think and I've played a lot of VNs on PSN and Steam. Horror based VNs do tend to avoid it and on PSN the only three I can think of that have it directly are Song of Memories, Period Cube and 7'Scarlet (though with 7'Scarlet you find out in the route that the characters aren't blood related and it ends up not being a romance route). Though Amnesia: Memories has it indirectly, but the issues with that particular route are definitely not from that taboo and instead the forgiveness of abuse. 25 minutes ago, AuroraHistoire said: I really enjoy Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. If they made it red, the game would likely have been given a rating in Japan that would have made it unable to be sold on PSN in Japan. By making it pink, they keep it to a level that allows it to be sold on PSN without having to remove any content. It actually works really well for the game too and adds a bit of quirky charm to it that probably wouldn't have worked in any other game. It's actually a form of censorship I don't mind one bit since it doesn't remove anything. Edited November 9, 2020 by ladynadiad

Actually yes I did see that, and most of those I have played, another is Nurse Love Addiction has it as well. You have the sister, who ends up not being blood related and it was a romance route. To me though even if they are not related, you were still raised together and it is just as wrong. Just my opinion. I am glad that it seems to be just the ones I have played and that there are more out there that do not include this. I must just have the luck to keep running into it. Actually the last one I played did not, Hakuoki Kyoto Winds. It has a childhood friend, but I can accept that.

Actually the last one I played did not, Hakuoki Kyoto Winds. It has a childhood friend, but I can accept that. Ah, that's one I haven't played yet because it looked to be overly fanservicey like Nekopara (which I hated) along with the fact that it never would go on sale. It also could be more common in games where you play a male and romance females since those are aimed at a different audience. Games like Hakuoki are otome games and aimed at younger women. Games like Song of Memories are bishoujo games and are aimed at younger males. The difference likely is the audience its aimed for. Horror VNs are not aimed towards males or females specifically and also tend to lack romance in general since they are focusing on the horror, so you'd probably like stuff like Raging Loop and Spirit Hunter: Death Mark much better. Anyway, I'll go back to lurking here and reading people's reviews since I really couldn't do this event this time around.
