Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #4 - SSX - Preview Developer:: Electronic Arts CA/Montreal Publisher: EA Sports Genre: Snowboarding/Sports I'm well familiar with EA sports, as I used to play many of the FIFA games. SSX seems to be an oddball though, when the main focus wasn't sucking people's wallets dry. Here we seem to have a snowboarding game with an arcade feel to it. voodoo_eyes
I can already say that I won't be playing SSX for more than an hour. I hate everything about the game so far So yeah, first time I drop a game while not even an hour in, I think. Well, I'll give it another 30 minutes tomorrow and then i've had my fill of this boring shitshow. Popular Post kingofbattle8174
The Midnight Sanctuary Overall Completion Beginning: 59.92% Current: 59.78% Trophies 1/11 4% E @voodoo_eyes Sorry you had a crap fest, this game is right there too. So as a VN it is pretty lame so far. I have plenty pf gripes. So the first thing to know is that there is ever present mural or maybe stained glass background you see all the time and while interesting at first get annoying for reasons I will go into later. So the for the story, you are the guide for the protagonist. You are not the hero herself, but her guide through this village. Being so, you have no dialogue. Apparently she can hear you or understand you but there is no spoken words. Her story is that if a researcher here at this village to look into the history of the church and local legends. This is because the village wants to become a tourist trap and think their stuff is cool enough to spark interest. Let me tell you, it does not. I have no idea what time period this game is supposed to be. All I can assume is that it is after westernization is allowed in Japan since they do mention trains and that Christians used to be persecuted but now not so much. The game really plays up on look how good of a group of Christians we are but actually they spend the whole time I have seen worshiping an unknown saint, not God. This mysterious saint is one because they made meat appear out of the ground. I assume that as the story progresses the reason this is will be revealed but not yet. So the game itself is in an almost 3d format, so it made it very easy to make into a Vr compatible title, which I did not like. After I got out of 3d mode I figured out why. First is that is is like playing a game that is like cg from a PS2 game. Not very high quality, but that is not what bugs me. What bugs me is that it is another game where any character outside the main ones is just a silhouette. If you played Akiba's Beat you know what I am talking about. What makes it worse is the NPC's are actually transparent. You are actually seeing the background behind them as they move. In 3d i was trying to figure out why I could not see people, and once I took off the headset, I figured it out. So this game is put to the side. I will finish it just to get the 100% soon. I mean it is one playthrough and with auto play I guess it can be dome in a few more hours but right now I am downloading Pathfinder and I am taking the rest of these days from Midnight Sanctuary and putting them in a hopefully better game.

I've played plenty of games that released in 2012 and several of them are among my favroutite games of all time (Sleeping Dogs, Kingdoms of Amalur, The Darkness 2, Mortal Kombat, Far Cry 3, etc). I guess I'm very picky when it comes t sport related games, There's only the odd football and basketball game I like and well the old Tony Hawk games, that SSX is most comparable to. We'll see, if my impression changes after doing another few races, but I honestly highly doubt it, as my first impression on a game usually stays the same up until the very end. Popular Post DamagingRob
Final Review- Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star Not much more going on here, in the bit more I played. Other than Saber casually taking a bath in front of you.. It is harder than I expected. Failed the third mission a couple times, because I lost too many areas. But it's like, in the process of clearing one, multiple places start getting attacked by enemies. There's little time to pause and take a breath, dashing from one place to the next. I didn't actually die, though, until I made it to the final stage of the first storyline. But you're able to revive Saber with items you acquire, so that wasn't a failed mission. I even got an EX rank on it, despite losing what should have been a ton of health. Meanwhile, on other stages, EX ranks have been harder to come by. Usually get a B in damage taken, which drops the overall rank to A. I still kinda just think it's meh. But it could be me not being familiar with the franchise. Probably the only reason I enjoy the Pirate Warriors games, is that I love One Piece. No idea if I'll ever finish it, because it's a pretty long grind. Trophy progress: 10/53 for 15% and an E rank. Time played: 5-6 hours. Completion Percentage: 93.19%(-0.14%) Next up: Code Vein Hopefully, this one will hold my attention better. Didn't put a lot of time in on Fate/Extella, because I wasn't feeling it. Anime Dark Souls is all I really know about it. I haven't played a Souls game, unless you count Bloodborne. But that one was fantastic, so here's hoping this one will be enjoyable also.

Popular Post kingofbattle8174
Game 4 Review Day One Overall Completion Beginning: 59.92% Current: 59.41% Trophies 1/43 1% E total time played 6-8 hours so far Well What a treat so far. I case you do not know, Pathfinder is a sort of child of the D&D franchise that was created after some were not happy about new rule adoptions in some of the newer editions. It plays and looks very similar to Pillars of Eternity and other games of that genre. Character Creation is just as in depth as making one for a table top game. You have the sames races, classes and such. You choose your stats and even feats. Feats are you special abilities that can give you a better edge and help make a certain build. So I chose a gnome and a weird subclass that makes him close to a psionicist. His name is Rumple Stilton. He has mad man voice, so he screams about wanting to see people's blood before charging into battle. The story is very deep, but short synopsis goes as such. You are one of two groups that need to clear this one land of bad guys. First guy to get it done gets to be the ruler of said land. You are also trying to prove that your competitor is the spy not you. Of course no one can tell the chaotic evil guy is the enemy. So, six or so hours in and I have only cleared the prologue and made some headway into the first chapter. The story of this game I think could be in the 75 hour range. So trophies in this game are hard to come by and the full game, which no one has completed yet, could take 200+ hours and two+ playthroughs. Part if the reason no one has finished it is that the deeper you get into the game, it seems to have some very destabilizing bugs that could wipe saves or corrupt the game, cause freezes. I experienced none of these early on but as areas get bigger it seems more of theses have the potential to happen. I would hate to be 50 hours in and lose everything. The game is fun though but it is fun at a snails pace. I put the game on Turn based so it plays more like a strategy game. I can plan out my move to get behind or to the side of foes or to make a good defensive posture. I could play this game for days but sign darn family and school getting in the way. I have to balance these things. The other thing I noticed is that this game gave me such a big hit to my overall PCG. I went down like .4%. Ouch that will take some work to recover from. Going back to finish Midnight Sanctuary to get those easy points will help offset it.

Considerung the joy or rather the lack thereof SSX has been giving me I believe I made the ight call in giving it a pass. Steep seems to be more sim focused than arcade, but from what I've seen it boils down to the same for me. It looks and at least SSX is incredibly boring. I'll rip SSX a new one tomorrow though. Popular Post Kevvik
Ok, it’s been a lousy week (I feel like I’ve been saying that all year) but I managed to get 3 hrs played so here is my review of... Game #2: Catherine Early impressions Time Played: 3 hrs Catherine is a game which is part puzzler/part VN(ish). You play Vincent, an every day guy who is dating Katherine, an attractive woman who is trying to guide the relationship towards marriage (I can’t fathom why but more on that later). Vincent gets drunk one night at the Stray Sheep, his local hangout, and wakes the next morning with a different girl, Catherine, which cues him trying to figure out how to deal with his cheating and how he should address it. Throw in bar talk about people being found dead and it being attributed to a curse that affects guys who cheat. With me? At the start of this adventure, Vincent finds himself in a strange place where he has to climb a seemingly endless stair of huge blocks. He can help create and manipulate this stair by moving blocks in 4 directions (left, right, forward, back). Reaching the top ends the level, a ranking given for your score related to how fast you climbed and coins found on the way up. This seems to be the curse as the next night, he returns to a more difficult version of the same thing with new tricks like blocks which break down, contain traps or can’t be moved being some of the developing additions to the puzzle. Starting in Day 2, the puzzles contain three stages with a safe spot where you can save and new techniques of climbing can be learned by talking with humanoid sheep (who see themselves as human and you as a sheep). The first two stages introduce new mechanics with the third acting as a Boss stage with you being pursued by a huge creature, making you keep up the pace while climbing. In a confessional which moves you between stages, you get asked a question which affects a law/chaos meter. In the real world, after some story scenes, you can explore the bar, drink more (which makes you move more quickly in your dreams (though this can be more difficult for precision of movement), answer emails and talk to other patrons. Your responses affect the law/chaos meter which I assume will affect endings. At the end of the night, you leave the bar and go home, where you proceed into the next nightmare climb. The puzzles stuff is fun though it can be frustrating while learning the mechanics. My biggest issue so far is the protagonist. He’s supposed to come across as a normal guy but even putting the cheating aside, I don’t know why any girl would spend time with him. He’s completely uninteresting, doesn’t seem to really come across with any personality. The girls do most of the talking while he just mugs and looks awkward and uncomfortable. Even his drinking buddies seem to have a rather dim opinion of him. It’s hard to go through a story when you really don’t seem to care about the main character. Still, I’m early in but I don’t have high hopes for our “hero”. Hopefully, I will get back to this later and keep pushing it forward. If nothing else, the puzzle part of it is enjoyable and looks like it will be a growing challenge. Trophies earned: 5/50, 7% for E rank Score so far: 6/10 (puzzles 8/10, story 4/10) Completion Rate: 84.37% (-0.20% for the event) Next up: Game #3: Atelier Totori Plus Edited November 11, 2020 by Kevvik
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #4 - SSX - Final Impressions Time played: about 1h Trophies earned: 4/37 SO I gave this a few more goes Nothing changed, on the contrary, my impression of the game got worse. Visually it's alright, I mean it's mainly white with a few poorly rendered trees trhown in and the odly placed railes and a bunch of rubble. Sound is fine as well, and the soundtrack is eneergetic, which doesn't coincide entirely with the gameplay for me. The controls for this game are in my opinion not good. I've noticed several times that when I try to align myself with a jump, the game is fighting me and pushing me back innto the direction I was orginially going. It's like there's different lanes and the game will decide for you, if you've gone too far on a lane, that it then won't let you switch to another direction to get jump or rail. Speaking of controls. I am not a fan of tricks beings bound to both the right thumbstick and the various buttons. The right thumbstick is too close to the buttons, which inadvertently leads to slightly nudging it on occasion, meaning you'll be doing shit you didn't want to, which more often than not leads into you face planting the snow. I got to a "race" where it was pitchdark and the track was a narrow corridor with twitsts and turns and random craplittering it as ibstacles. That's where I had enough. Literally felt like I was playing pinball smashing into one wall, that would bounce me into the opposite wall, and back to the other wall. I don't have the patience for this kind of nonsense. There are 3 game modes. World Tour, which I would've thought was acareer mode, then theres free roam and essentially gambling. Btw you can't play this game without internet connection, which for hte type of game it is, is a damn strange concept to go with. The "competitive mode", which you actually need to buy in to play, as in earning +100.000 credits to be able to participate. Free roam is also locked out due to gear requirements. That means 2 of the 3 modes are non-funcional because the game design blocks you out of it. Speaking of the gear system. Again it costs credits to unlock, which wouldn't be to oweird. What's weird is, that it's offerring me boards and gear (there's armor requirements in tis game...) that are all worse than the base equipment and they're asking 10k-30k for those items. That is beyond stupid. The game consists literally of the same thing, ride down a mountain doing tricks. To me, no matter how much clutter you thrown onto the mountain, this is boring to me. The whole "fun" factor seems to rely on do massive trick combinations and land again so that the points actually count. I was over that, after the first race. So yeah, I think this game is utter garbage and it gets a and I only don't rate it worse out of one single reason. I've played some really horrid shit by now.
Popular Post Phantochi
Game #4 Final Impressions - Final Fantasy X HD Playing this game takes me back almost two decades ago, just me, my ps2 and a 14inch TV, nothing to worry about, we were happy and we did not even know it. Nothing much to say here, it's the same game that made everyone cry with better graphics, better loadings, and all that good remaster stuff. This is harder than i remember, i died twice on an early boss and when you die the game goes all the way back to the menu, no checkpoints for you to start from, and you still can't skip the cutscenes either, so don't be like me and make sure you save often. The game comes in two versions, FFX International, FFX-2 International, and there are also two more extras: Eternal Calm for FFX and Last Mission for FFX-2. All is accessible from FFX's main launcher, of which it contains mini-settings to select language and other options also. Language is, sadly, tied directly to in-game dub. If you choose English, you can only hear English dub and English text, and so does for Japanese. Audio comes with two options, the original version or a new arranged version, and you can change the audio setting on the fly through in-game option. At the end of the day, both versions are just fine for my ears, so it's just a matter of preferences. So, yeah, this is the best FFX & X-2 version, highly recommend it, if you're completely new to Final Fantasy, you don't need to play FF1 - FFIX to understand everything, FFX is it's own standalone title, if you played it before, You already know what you're in for. Don't forget to bring tissues. Time played: around 12hrs Trophies earned: 2/34, 3% for E Rank
Popular Post dark_moon689
2nd Game Review - Agatha Christie: The ABC Murders I enjoyed this short point and click game. If you are familiar with Agatha Christie's books and this novel in particular you will know exactly what the story is about. You play as detective Hercule Poirot, trusting that you little grey cells work out who is the clever person behind the ABC murders, is very linear and has nice little puzzles some with blatantly obvious solutions right next to you and others that requiere you to keep track of the different items you've been gathering and what you have learn of each of the suspects and victims. A couple of them are a bit repetitive and quite frankly I don't think it was necessary to do the letters mini game 3 or 4 times, specially when the solution doesn't change is just doing it again. I like the game, and anyone that enjoys a nice point and click would probably like it. But is awfully short and very linear, lacks many opportunities to interact with the environment that many of these games are know for and it also doesn't really let you mess up the puzzles or revisit previous locations for additional information/interactions both with people and objects, which was one of my favorite things in games like Day of the Tentacle or Monkey Island. The only reason I took so long with it is that I scanned room looking for something else to interact with. I did two playthroughs as one trophy requieres you to mess a bunch of conversations and decisions through the game and I didn't want to look for a guide of what to watch out for until after I've played it, although after reading the trophy description most of the choices requiere stand out. Time played: Around 9-10 hours Game progress: 15/15 - 100% - S rank Original Completion: 54.29% Current Completion: 55.00% I have actually taken my completion a little bit higher since I've been catching up on my backlog. I am sure it will not last and probably drop considerably with the next 3 games as I doubt they can be finished in a few days, at least not with my current schedule. My next game will be Toy Story, a platformer (I think) to add variety to this event.
Popular Post DamagingRob
Day 1- Code Vein "How is Code Vein, Ollie?" "Thanks, Ollie. " ? So yeah, it does feel a lot like Bloodborne in the gameplay department. Exploring areas, challenging combat, dying, and getting back to where you were and picking up your dropped currency. There's more instant death from falling in this one, though. I don't remember if Bloodborne has that at all, to be honest. But here, you can fall off and die. After spending over an hour probably, creating my character, I finally started the game proper. There are a lot of customization options. From hair color to skin type, clothing and accessories, and so much more. They even added some for major holidays, so I put a small Santa hat on. ? Ended up with this: Spoiler That was taken with the game's photo mode, which also has a ton of customization options. So, the story in this one seems to be that Revenants need human blood to survive. They also wear masks whenever they go out (an all too familiar thing in real life, these days..), because they can catch a disease that makes them go crazy. Basically, like a zombie infection. Once you turn, it's over. You meet Louis, who wants to put an end to this cycle. Instead of killing humans, he wants them to go someplace where they'll be safe. But in return, they have to donate blood. Nobody dies, everyone lives. Win, win. I guess. Combat has not smacked me around like Bloodborne yet, but I barely scraped by the last boss, after dying a few times. Half naked, butterfly chick, with the ability to poison you. Fun times. Forced me to change from my preferred weapon to that point, and try something else. There are quite a few weapon types, and roles you can use. Different roles have different stats and abilities, and may not be able to carry heavier weapons. It's a lot to take in, and I'm just trying to wing it. Lol. Leveling up, upgrading weapons/armor, buying items, etc. are all done with the currency you get for beating enemies. As you explore, dots show up on the map to show where you've walked. And items will be shown, as well. Good if you're blind as a bat, like me, and would walk right past them. ? Then when you reach the checkpoints, known as Mistles, entire sections of the map will be revealed. You are almost always accompanied by an A.I. partner, who will help fight and sometimes revive you when you die. Or you can send a distress signal, and maybe get a person to join you? Haven't tried it, myself. The home base has some stuff, too. There's a jukebox to listen to the game's soundtrack, a piano to play for... unknown reasons, a hot spring where you can rewatch cutscenes, people to talk to, some with stuff to buy, and you can sit on furniture or lie down in a bed. You also can get more backstory on the cast here, if you find and pick up vestiges in the field. Then you go on a weird walking simulator segment, and learn more about the character it belongs to. So yeah, I like it a lot early on. Hopefully, that continues until the end. Time played: 6 hours, maybe? Trophy progress: 10/43 for 18% and an E rank.

Popular Post purgta
Game #2 Baldur's Gate: Siege Of Dragonspear I should probably mention beforehand that I have never played Baldur's Gate 2 so I can only compare Siege of Dragonspear against the original. Siege of Dragonspear is an expansion for the original game that came out almost eighteen years after the first game. I have not gotten too far in but so far the story revolves around dealing with a crusade happening north of Baldur's Gate. I am not far enough to comment on the quality of the plot but it seems fine so far. Combat seems slightly different from the original. It is the same for the most part but it almost has an Icewind Dale taste to it. I have no issues with that as I love Icewind Dale. There are new companions as well as returning ones. Unfortunately for me, not a single member of my original party made it into SoD. I still have to decide who to have as permanent members. I do really like how party members return to camp when removed from the party. It was a bit of a hassle remembering where you left certain characters in the first game. Characters are a lot more chatty in SoD. I think they are also supposed to be talkative in the sequel but they were way too quiet in the original. Some of the writing can drag you out of your immersion. Getting the glasses from the stoner in chapter 7 is the main example so far. The majority has been fine however. Humour can be hit or miss, although to be fair, I thought the same about the original. Areas are a lot smaller than the first game although this is not totally a negative. The feelings of exploration are slightly diminished but even saying that, the wilderness areas in Baldurs gate 1 were extremely barren for the most part. The areas in SoD are smaller but more content packed. The journal is still as annoying to use as always. The game seemed to have gotten mixed reviews online. I had assumed it was due to bugs as both enhanced editions were pretty bad for it at their launch. More than a few of them were complaining about the inclusion of a transgender character. I am going to be honest, the complaints seem pretty ridiculous to me. The game has more than a few things you could complain about but I don't consider that one of them. I am enjoying my time with it so far. Combat is fun and the story is fine. My opinion could change later but for now it is a lot of fun. I am looking forward to playing Baldur's Gate 2 after. It seems to be the one to get all the praise and has been on my need to play list for years. I even own copies from GOG and on disk. No idea why I never tried it before. Trophy progress: 10/61 Completion percentage: 34.36%(+.0.05%).
Popular Post AuroraHistoire
I Need Coffee - Octodad: Dadliest Catch In Octodad: Dadliest Catch, you play as an octopus in a suit with a human wife and two human children. Nobody knows you're an octopus and the goal of the game is to make sure nobody finds out. You're supposed to do whatever task the game asks you to do without smacking anybody in the face too much or getting seen doing anything socially unacceptable. You're allowed to mess up a quite a bit but if mess up too much, you will start over at the last checkpoint. The catch is that the controls are a bit terrible. You have two legs and an arm to work with. You can control the arm and legs with left stick; you hold or to select a leg to move. You also move the right stick up and down to raise and lower your arm. You press X to pick up objects. The controls and movement work but are not very precise. Your limbs tend to flail around and get stuck on objects. I got myself stuck in a door for 5 minutes once; I was trying to clip through it but got stuck. The levels are built around the controls, mostly. The trophy list is mostly just collecting ties and mostly performing random feats of "skill". I played the Vita version of Octodad, the trophy list is smaller and has some exclusive trophies but is worth 15 more points with a couple silvers and a gold. I had issues with 2 trophies and a couple of ties. I feel like I got lucky with a few potentially difficult ones though. The trophy where you need to pull all the weeds without stepping on any flowers was difficult because of the controls and the dancing trophy was hard too because of the controls. Fortunately, you can reload from the last checkpoint anytime if you mess up. Octodad: Dadliest Catch was okay. My experience was more positive than negative but I found the game a bit dull.
Popular Post Phantochi
Game #5 Preview - GTA Vice City Another old but gold game for me, i've been meaning to play this since i bought a ps4, but every time i hear about that damn cannoli, it goes down on my list, but the time has finally come. I'll start by going for the cannoli, was reading some forums and apparently the best way to go for it is to find the collectibles first thing then make a boat load of money, then a glitch around a chopper i guess, i'll have to watch some youtube videos to see exactly how it goes because it doesn't look easy. I hope this cannoli doesn’t make me hate this game
Popular Post be_minor
RAD Final Review: For such a short game, I spent a lot of time relishing the world of RAD. The premise is this: the world is a post-post apocalyptic hellscape in which few humans remain. These humans desperately need power to survive, so the elder sends out one of several teenage protagonists to procure it. On their journey, the teen encounters mutated monsters and inorganic life forms hellbent on keeping the power for themselves. It’s up to the player to kick monster ass and RADically return power to the town. After my short time with the game, I found RAD to be very forgiving for players new to rougelites. With only six levels, I was able to beat the game in under two hours. And with a fully upgraded mutations kit, the final boss was spammable. To make it even friendlier for noobs, players can return to the hub town for items or to save progress (kinda). This made ending a run via death a little less painful each time. And while RAD is a fantastic, immersive rougelite for casuals, it’s a hellish grind for trophy hunters. A lot of the trophies are ultra rare, requiring RNG and hundreds of runs to earn. You have to view every possible ending and unlock all weapons, styles (characters), and quirks (ways to play the game). You also need to complete every side quest from the three main factions in the world, and spawning the rare quests can take 20+ runs itself. It’ll take an ungodly amount of time and energy to earn the coveted plat. No matter how good you are at the game (albeit being good definitely speeds the process up). But all in all, RAD is deserving of a playthrough… or 20. With the mutations and 80s theme fueling nostalgia, it begs to be replayed over and over, and I feel more than obliged to do so. Popular Post voodoo_eyes
Game #5 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan - Preview Developer:: Platinum Games Publisher: Activision Genre: Hack & Slash Price: delisted (average cost physical - however much the seller wants you to pay) So here's a game by a publisher that tends to delist their games on a 3 year rotation. Afterwards you'll either have to get lucky to get their games for a reasonable price or be willing to pay the market value. Anyway, A TMNT game, so that's new for me. I only played the shitty ps3 one, TMNT Out of Shadows. This one at least looks better and could be fun. Reviews disagree of course and shat all over it. Now this could be because this is by Platinum Games, which may have created too high expectations for this game. It could also just be that the game sucks. Time to find out.

I'll start by going for the cannoli, was reading some forums and apparently the best way to go for it is to find the collectibles first thing then make a boat load of money, then a glitch around a chopper i guess, i'll have to watch some youtube videos to see exactly how it goes because it doesn't look easy. I hope this cannoli doesn’t make me hate this game WOW! I haven’t thought about this game in years...I mean decades. Gasp. Has it been that long? Anyone remember what year and console this was original to? My guess is PS2 in 2002. I think this was the last GTA game I played. I recall the driving mechanics to be okay but the gun-play was atrocious. And the story? Yikes. What’s next on your playlist? Syphon Filter?? Not only the gunplay but pretty much everything didn't aged that well, but the nostalgia you feel when you enter the first car and billie jean starts to play is something else Edited November 13, 2020 by Phantochi
Popular Post be_minor
Medievil First Impressions: Another relatively new addition to PSNow, and one I’ve heard a bit about. I know it’s a remake of a PS1 game by the same name, and that you play as skeleton knight(?), Sir Daniel. As someone who missed out on most early PlayStation titles, I’m eager to play this one. I have no idea what the gameplay is like though, so it may be a miss for me.
Popular Post kingofbattle8174
Final Impressions for Game 4 Pathfinder So not much change from the last session. I added about another three hours and still have not finished the first chapter. My competitor is finally revealed to be the spy so of course its up to me to hunt him down. I am running out of spots on the map that I can access to find him too. Once I own this place I am wondering how this will change. Side note, I went back to Little Nightmare for a bit today and pushed though the next chapter. Still really fun and a good head exercise. Next game is going to be Until Dawn. Played the VR game so now I can see the one that inspired it.
