BlackTorito
? Oh well, I honestly miss the PS3 feeling of trophies, I don’t really like the notification form of the PS4, and though it seems back to the PS3’s, the sound is underwhelming, unless it evolves depending on trophy type.
soziaLSturmi
You can barely hear the sound from the looks I would prefer the PS4 trophies tbh idk lets see if somethings gonna change but I don't think so looking at Sony and there support for us
Am4z1n9_AZ
I don't like the sound and the layout seems like a step back in my opinion.
EcoShifter
What a weird situation. It went back to the superior popup design but it has the worse sound effect compared to PS3 and even PS4's.
Trumpet_Boi_208
The sound is cool, but I prefer the PS3 and PS4 sound. Edited October 27, 2020 by Trumpet_Boi_208
DividedByMankind
Ps3 sound all the way!!! So loud it was? hope you can switch sounds either to ps3 or ps4 ?
Isamu_Kanashii
Well that sound was underwhelming. Wonder if the pitch is different with silvers and golds? Then for plats its the sound we all know?
arsenal4life1471
PLease let there be a choice to change to the normal sound Fingers crossed. I mean its not terrible its just not as iconic
LoveInHell
I would much rather hear a fancy glitter sound.
Popular Post Potent_Delusions
I've seen better popups on a malware site. Seriously, everything I've seen on the PS5 is aesthetically diabolical. The XMB was very ugly, the trophy notifications likewise. The sound is a huge stepback from PS3 too.

Not seen yet (in work) but saw this comment and the prospect of different pitches for different values is actually a really awesome idea. Rare Xbox achievements have a different sound and pop up and its always that little bit more satisfying! Update: Just seen. The visual pop up is much cleaner than PS4, but the sound isn't very satisfying. Sounds really dull. 12 minutes ago, Potent_Delusions said: I've seen better popups on a malware site. Controversial opinion possibly, but I think the PS3 UI > PS4 UI when you ignore things like resolution. Something iconic about that original interface and its so much cleaner/neater. Popular Post Lokkijumala
Wow, really didn't expect people to start complaining about the trophy sounds. That's a bit much for me. I think it looks and sounds real nice.
PooPooBlast
Didn't sound that audible to me unlike the ps3/ps4 notification sound. I mean meh.. it's a trophy sound who gives a crap but if there's a way to change the sound I'd do it. If not, no biggie.
peffsi
Huh. Didn't think they'd ever change it. It doesn't stand out because it kinda blends in to the sound effects and music of the game. I saw a trophy pop (for getting 1 collectible) in a couple of other videos, and I could barely hear it or notice it over the sound effects of Astro getting the collectible. If you want to see it: In this one, I couldn't hear the notification at all.
arsenal4life1471
its a very boring sound though nothing wrong with it just meh I do like the Actually pop up though looks nice and clean. I mean it just feel like a notification pop up on your phone or something

Maxie_M0us3
As much as I love the trophy sound for two generations of consoles, I’m fine with the smooth and discret sound they’re trying to attempt. Sometimes, changes have to happen. And the notification is good too, reminds me the PS3 a lot. Edited October 27, 2020 by MaxieM0us3
Popular Post peffsi
I think a lot of trophy hunters ..including me.. have developed a Pavlovian response to the original trophy sound. That's why people are complaining. Right now, it's kind of a buzzkill to not hear the old sound. Once we get used to the new sound, it'll be fine. .. the bigger issue is that sometimes the sound is not noticeable or audible... (but yes, I love the way it looks, and it's really cool that it'll save a video of unlocking a trophy, instead of a screenshot of your character's ass 2 seconds after you got the trophy) Edited October 27, 2020 by peffsi
Popular Post DrBloodmoney
???????????????? I thought it was going to be the thread about the trophy level changes that did it, but actually it’s this one. Yup, this is the one, definitely. This is the thread that finally proves, with crystal clarity, and without a shadow of a doubt, that it does not matter what Sony change, no matter how tiny, or tertiary or insignificant, no matter how infinitesimal a change it is, the gaming community will find a way to immediately complain. Seriously. For a community dedicated to a passtime that is fuelled by constant innovation and progression in terms of graphics, technology, framerate, clock speed etc. Gamers sure are a curmudgeonly bunch when it comes to accepting change! it’s just a trophy sound. Within a day, it will sound normal. Within a week, we won’t even notice it’s different, and within a month, the old sound will seem wrong. Although, that new sound is pretty weak. They really need to up the volume. I just earned a trophy dammit, make some noise!

Looked very minimalist but very professional; simplicity done right. There was something so much more fulfilling about seeing the platinum trophy icon next to a game on the PS3 list too. Loved the trophy notifications and sound. Loved the friends list. The console feels slow nowadays but aesthetically it was wayyyy better than the PS4 and PS5. The PS5 looks aesthetically disastrous.
Popular Post Beyondthegrave07
People are asking for a switch for the old PS3 or PS4 sounds, but why not go further? Give us like 20 options for the sound of a trophy popping. I mean, I want to hear explosion noises when I earn a trophy. One that'll scare the neighbors, you know. Playing My Name is Mayo should sound like the 4th of July (in the US) in my living room. Just my two cents.
