Godfall stuttering and weird console noises

Hey guys I just got my ps5 set up and everything. I tried Monster Hunter World Iceborne.

There’s a small humming sound when playing graphics intensive games and it’s barely audible to my ears bcz I am very sensitive to sound.

I guess this is normal right? It’s impossible to have a “dead silent” console where a lot of people claimed. I sit very close to the ps5 so sometimes I can hear a bit of sound coming from the machine.

What do you guys think? Is it normal or defective? Thanks.

Probably need some time to break-in. Like a car that needs about 500 miles to break-in before its really good and smooth.

But its probably fine, not going to be dead silent.

The fact it's working and can barely be heard by your sensitive ears would suggest you're fine.

Many people said their consoles are absolutely silent. I can definitely “hear” some sound coming from the machine when it’s running games. It’s nowhere as loud as some other ps5 units that I heard.

Yeah I just want confirmation. People probably exaggerated a bit about how silent the console is. PS5 is much quieter than PS4 Pro so I can’t complain.

Yeah, that’s the fan. That’s normal when the PS5 is under load.

That volume is probably what most people would consider silent because if you sit more than a couple feet away, you probably don’t hear it any more unless you’re really straining to hear it.

But if it really bothers you, and you think it may be defective, don't hesitate to get another one...

I personally am very sensitive on sound, so I can see where you might be coming from.

Anyone experience this issue? When there are a lot of effects on the screen or when the enemy explodes, I am getting stutter, like the game freezes for 1 second. I use performance mode but the game still lags.

Also, I got stuck in a tree 1 time and had to

restart the mission. I hope the devs are actually working a patch to smooth the gameplay a bit.

Edit: I just noticed another issue. Whenever I try to look at each item, I hear a tick sound like the ps5 fan stopped for 1 second then it spins again. It’s very weird... I hope it’s software issue not hardware.

I am experiencing some weird noises coming from the ps5 after playing games for several hours nonstop. Basically the fan gets louder and crashes/stutters start to show up more often. Godfalls stutters and slows down when there are a lot of enemies on the screen in performance mode. Astro playroom has no stutter or lag.

When I was playing Godfall, I started to notice some kind of “static noise” coming from the console itself. The noise skips whenever I perform an action, like scrolling through items, menu options, etc. It’s like the noise pauses for 0.1 second whenever I press a button on the d-pad. It’s hard to explain but I think all PS5 acts like that.

I am not sure if my console is defective bcz I need to know if anyone also experiences the same issues.

At the beginning of the video, noise pauses/skips/stutters when I press a button on the controller:

im having issues with ps5 as well, i cant find one

jk, are you playing a ps4 game because that could be it. didnt look at the titles yet. but that issue sounds like the processor cant handle the game which is odd

I played godfall for a couple of hours. Its kinda hard to play it atm coz of the stuttering. The devs may have to tone down the graphics a bit. I crashed once and got many lags.

Yeah they have a few things. I turned off motion blur and something else. forgot what it’s called. The stutters didn’t go away.

do you have a 4k tv, wondering if 1080 has anything to do with it if you dont. thats the last thing i can think of. game might of been rushed out for release date and needs a patch. i remember battlefield for ps4 on release day was a total nightmare for a while

It isn't the game. It's the only thing I played last night for about six hours (including idle time) and didn't notice a single performance hitch other than the broadcast dropping once or twice.

I'm not sure of OP's situation, just wanted to clarify the title itself. Come to think of it, I haven't heard a single undue noise from the PS5 since I hooked it up. I hesitate to think maybe it's in a too-enclosed space and might be overheating.

i usually like to put all my consoles on a book and space them all apart and lay them down never stand them up. and never put them inside a entertainment stand that has a back on it. maybe thatll help him. i saw a ps5 tear down and they use liquid metal i think its called instead of the other kind of thermal paste. maybe he has a issue there hopefully not

I want to say I saw someone claiming a weird noise on his ps5 on YouTube.  He said he heard a hum from the machine.  Played it for a couple of hours and it got louder as it was playing.  It aventually turned itself off and wouldn't come back on.  He called Sony and unfortunately he was saying that he has to send it in as defective.  Not sure if that is what you are experiencing.

I am currently waiting on mine to be delivered (Nov 23 is estimated date) so fingers crossed I don't have any issues.

Is it like this guys ps5 problem in the video where he has noise issues?

This guy sounds severely disconnected with reality. ?

I will say that graphics fragmenting is remarkably unfortunate, however. Stunning to look at, in away, but surely unfortunate. If it isn't doctored footage, that is.

I also have Godfall and did not experience any of the issues you mentioned on my PS5.

How long do you play the ps5? I played it nonstop for like 4 hours then it starts to lag/stutter and even crashed once. The console gets louder too from humming to coil whine/static noise.

You can hear the noise “skips/pauses” like 0.1 second each time you press a button on the controller. If you try standing near the console, you should be able to hear that sound as well. It feels like the disc drive or fan is spinning and stopping all the times.

I unplugged the console all night. I am gonna try a different outlet later and see how it goes.. I can tolerate coil whine but the fan pauses frequently is very annoying and weird.

The graphics are truly amazing on ps5 but the weird noises are distracting.

The good thing about the console is that when I plug in a headphone on the dual sense, it doesn’t have audio stutter for now. It happens a lot on the ps4 pro. Gonna have to test more though.
