Games Like My Name is Mayo 2 Ruined The Value Of Platinums

The fact Playstation doesn't have anything to value certain Platinums higher than others makes the system garbage and has ruined the fun of it all imo. What's the point of trying to compete against people when games like this exist?

 

Edit: Lol this is funny. Yes, I platinum'ed My Name is Mayo twice, I have some other easy/junk platinums like Energy Cycle but I wish I didn't and that I could delete them. People who are saying "it's fake shit anyways" of course it is, doesn't mean it kind of sucks there is junk currency in the system. To the people who say let people buy/play whatever they want, of course, but that doesn't mean we can't have a discussion about these games. To the dude who said he bought it in spite, lol I hope you enjoy it. 

 

Anyways, I really didn't think this thread would blow up after like 6 hours lol

Game was fun. I enjoyed it for 99p. I enjoyed the first one as well. Loved the callbacks storywise.

There literally is no point. Its all about buying your way to a high trophy count. Don’t buy it if you don't like it. I know I won’t. Thats all you really can do.

 

btw sony does have something to value certain plats over others. Its called trophy rarity.

How dare you say games like this "ruin" the value of platinums, this game gets an exception, this is truly one of the most revolutionary games when it comes to trophies AND probably one of the most inventive games this year (just behind bugsnax, perplexing orb 2 & whiteboyz)

Dont taint your profile with pointless games like this, there are so many more rewarding and fun games to be spending your money and time on. Playing and paying for a game just to add a platinum trophy to your profile is just ridiculous, these people are just addicted to the hit, its just like the sorry souls throwing money at microtransactions. They cant help it nor can they see their issue.

Idk man. I buy and play games to have fun. That comes before trophies regardless. This game has no value to a non trophy hunter. Its sole purpose is to build a trophy count. People don’t see a reason to compete on a leaderboard if they are forced to play crap like this just to keep up.

Both of you are right if people want to buy easy platinum don't if you don't want to buy it then don't . The only easy games I platinumed were TellTale Games and My Name Is Mayo.Like you said this game gets an exception because it's a easy platinum but it's kind of a funny game in a way.

I honestly have no respect for you. That is why I advise people not to look at the number of platinums an individual has. Look at what they have platinumed. For example, someone might have like 400-500 plats, but all they are easy games like My Name Is Mayo, Slyde, etc. But another person might have only 30 plats but have platinumed hard games. Like Super Meat Boy, GTA 4, Crypt of The Necro Dancer, etc. You see? Trophy hunting is no longer about skill, long grinding hours, luck. It's no longer a fun hobby to pass time. It's an obsession.

I certainly dont. For me a platinum is the cherry on top of the most delicious cake youve been baking and preparing. I have SO many games ill never bother getting plat for, and so many that took me 4 times longer than it needed because i was busy being in love with the game. Im not even a trophy hunter

Let me ask this: I've platinumed No Man's Sky. If I load it on my PS5 it's a guaranteed platinum as it will autopop. 

 

Is that better or worse than buying and enjoying this game?

 

Autopop by loading a game or enjoying a 30 minute game?
