Thought it might help anyone thinking about downloading it from a trophy hunting perspective. Fans of classic worms beware, this is nothing like the tactical turn based games of old, worms has been battleroyale-ized for better and mainly for worse The game is all online multiplayer after the tutorial, no offline modes. There are three game types, deathmatch (unlimited resplendent and most kills wins), squad last worm standing and solo last worm standing (battle royale). This is the most glaring issue with the game at present, there needs to be more variety in game types as even though I’m enjoying it now, I can tell it’s going to get stale. Something like deathmatch with modifiers or specific weapons would go a long way here. The game controls are tight and there is decent selection of weapons. The game is balanced pretty well allowing you to out-skill your opponents even with ‘weaker’ guns. Even things like the Holy Handgrenade can be bested, it’s not even a 1-hit KO with full health. This generally means if you die you know you might have been able to avoid it had you played that scenario slightly better. I don’t think I felt like I had a BS death in my 4 hours playtime. There are currently three maps and tbh, they are all pretty meh. Don’t get me wrong, they are perfectly functional and I like the verticality and way you can use the vents tactically, I just don’t think I could describe even one of them to you now even after 30+ matches. So overall in regards to the fun factor, I would rate this as a solid 7/10. I’m having a good time with it so far and may even commit to grinding out the platinum. Speaking of the platinum, based on a rough estimate of where I am now after 4 hours, I’d say this is gonna be an 60-80 hour platinum unless they have some bonus XP weekends or something like that. I might be over or underestimating that, I’m not sure what the XP curve is like in the later levels. None of the trophies are that hard either. I’d recommend playing the game soon to pick up the death match and last worm standing victory trophies as it is always going to be easier to do that in the first few weeks before there is a meta/ everyone develops pro strats Edited December 1, 2020 by N1NJ4_V4MP1R3 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Maybe something to do with the amount of people in the game. I’d say don’t worry about it too much. You’ll likely have to play loads anyway so you’re guaranteed a win at some point along the way! Last worm standing which can be seen as battle royale, or a standard deathmatch free for all mode where you go around killing for however long. You only need to play the battle royale side of it for a trophy or two and then the rest of the list can be done in free for all. I wouldn't be scared of the game if you hate battle royales because you don't need to play that side of the game.. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
