Popular Post Dr_Mayus
Welcome again to the annual PSNP Awards STAY 6 FEET AWAY FROM ME YOU DIRTY GAMERS Sorry, it has been a tense year...that is why we need to celebrate with the Year End Awards. It is that time of year again where we celebrate (or condemn) the plats we earned this year. If you are new to the awards you can check out the previous years below but basically give awards to games or plats that you think deserve the following awards. These aren't necessarily games that came out this year but are games that you played and platted this year. So please participate and as always any game you plat before December 31, 2020 count towards these awards. 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 What game provided you with 0 difficulty this year. Was it a stack of Ratalaika and POWGI games? Was it Mayo 2? Or do you not play those EZ PEAZY games and have something else to give this to? Ahh, the It's Like Dark Souls plat. The game that had you pulling your hair out and cursing the gaming gods. Which game had you pleading in the Status Updates for just one little thing to go your way? Not necessarily a Platinum but a moment in a game where you sat back and said "I'm a Badass" What game had you running around racking up kills? playing through 6 times? Trying to find the one item with a 0.01% drop rate? What game did you just sink a ton of time into to earn that beautiful This trophy is for the most fun you had playing online. Maybe it wasn't even for trophies. Was it COD, or Fall Guys or some other game that you sunk hours into playing. The complete opposite of the last one. Which buggy server, shitty campers, ridiculous online requirements or complete deserted wasteland did you waste your time playing for that We all have that game that we got from PLUS or off some digital sale. Which game did you just enjoy so much despite barely hearing about it before. Usually reserve for some shitty AAA game with too much hype...but could also just be a game in a series you love. Which game made you regret buying it and wished you could have your money and time back. Simply put what is the best trophy image you earned this year. Normally it would be a Platinum image but maybe there is some bronze trophy you earned that just had great image art. Here is the award for the lazy developers that cannot figure out that trophy hunters might actually like to look at a nice trophy image. Which Female character this year was your favourite to play as? Which Male character this year was your favourite to play as? This award isn't meant for your favourite game of the year...it is meant for your favourite plat. A favourite plat should be something that was a pure joy to earn. It is one that you wish had multiple stacks so you could replay it to earn all the trophies again. This is the opposite. This is the platinum that made you want to quit earning trophies. The one that was just a waste of your time. Please go nuts and rip that shitty game a new one, you earned it. This was a really bad year. So treat yourself to fantasizing about what game you cannot wait to get your hands on. And most of all thank you all for participating again in this fun event Edited December 2, 2020 by Dr_Mayus
Popular Post EIdain
Piece of Cake AwardMarvel's Spider-Man.It's Like Dark SoulsBloodborne, it's very much like Dark Souls lol.Bad Ass Award Unlocking Ghost stance during the Ghost of Yarikawa main quest in Ghost of Tsushima. It was a cool story moment, but the music just made this moment. ? Grind of the Year I don't tend to grind for platinum's if I'm not enjoying the game enough, case in point I gave up on Death Stranding this year. So it'd probably be a tie between the three play-throughs of Dishonored 2 and the chalice dungeons I did for Bloodborne.King of the InternetFall Guys. Easily. I'm hoping for more fun, different, multiplayer and party games in 2021. Tired of BR's. Ghost of Tsushima Legends deserves a mention though for it's co-op experience and excellent raid.Worst Online Experience Monopoly Plus, since it broke for some of my friends. Sleeper Hit of the YearDishonored 2. It's not an unknown, but I do think it's pretty underrated and I should have played it much sooner. Shout-out to Ni No Kuni 2 as well, everyone told me it's no way near as good as the first (and maybe it isn't since I haven't got around to it yet) but I had a blast with it. Biggest Bomb of the Year The Last of Us Part 2 was the game I was most disappointed by, I still enjoyed it, but it just didn't go in a direction I wanted it to. Marvel's Avengers would be the biggest bomb I skipped on. Best Trophy ImageNi No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - One True King. Beautiful art style in the game. Beautiful trophy art to follow suit. Worst Trophy Image Minecraft - Awarded all trophies. I don't mind the art style matching that of the games, but the grey background on all of these makes them look really drab. Best Female CharacterEllie (Ashley Johnson) - The Last of Us Part II. She was the best character I played in any game this year, male or female.Best Male Character Jin Sakai (Daisuke Tsuji) - Ghost of Tsushima.Best Platinum of the Year I loved The Witcher 3's trophy list. I didn't mind the grind for Gwent cards too much since I loved playing Gwent anyway and wanted to improve my deck. Worst Platinum of the Year Umm Death Stranding and Fall Guys had the worst trophy lists of any games I played this year, but I didn't platinum those. I guess Erica had the worst of the games I did plat, it was just really boring rather than difficult. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 If I don't finish it before the end of year it's Cyberpunk. But of new games releasing next year I'd probably go Hitman 3 (assuming it gets a platinum this time). I'd go with God of War: Ragnarok, but there's no way that game is coming out next year, also being a Sony first party game it'll probably be too easy. Popular Post Ya_Boy_James
Piece of Cake Award Platinum Midnight (Midnight Deluxe)Platinum. 1 of 2 90%+ plats this year. Cupcake confirmed. It's Like Dark Souls True Scavenger (Deep Sky Derelicts)Platinum. Limited guide materials online and plenty of ways to ruin a campaign, especially the Hardcore (permadeath) run. The plat trophy image is kind of underwhelming lol, many of the other trophies had better art. Very underrated turn-based, party-based, deck building RPG. Ultra Rare platinum with only 8 achievers as I post this. Bad Ass Award Hoarder's Curse (Let It Die)Collect everything (Magazines, Mother Barb Songs, Stamps). My rarest trophy at 0.39%. Gaining all collectibles in Let It Die takes a bit of planning (some are only available certain weekdays) and a bit of grinding. Love this game and played it plenty, but I still can't shake the feeling of danger most times that I enter the higher levels of the Tower of Barbs. Grind of the Year A New Challenger Has Appeared (Goat Simulator, GoatZ DLC)Clear 25 survival quests in one game. This was my final trophy for 100% on Goat Simulator. Might have had bigger grinds in terms of time, but beating all of these DLC, GoatZ most of all, felt like the biggest grind. King of the Internet Godwoken (Divinity: Original Sin 2)Complete the game in Classic Mode. This was hands-down the best co-op campaign I have ever played. It's like D&D in its character creation and specialization, tactical combat, and ever-twisting outcomes. Played a 2-person campaign but would come back again and again, especially to play with a full 4-person party. Worst Online Experience ARCADE Competitor (Far Cry 5)Win 10 featured maps in Multiplayer (Arcade only). All in all, this really wasn't that bad (it's only 10 wins, right?). I also love the Far Cry games. However, before I found a boosting partner I played quite a few 20-minute matches with only one to three other players on big maps. Finally decided to team up with someone for the trophy after a fourth consecutive loss, coming in the final seconds of a match I started alone vs. 2 players when a drop-in teammate went 1-8 K/D and gave the final death to lose by 1. Sleeper Hit of the Year Stardew Valley I slept on this game. I've had friends and co-workers play but I assumed it was going to be too casual without really looking into it. Wound up being a great way to play with my younger sister from a distance (on computer), and even after playing it thoroughly together I have started it again for PS4. Biggest Bomb of the Year Madden NFL 20 I know EA's reputation. That said, Madden 15 & 16 were my first platinums and I hadn't bought one since. Despite some flaws and lackluster yearly updates, even then, I enjoyed older Madden titles. I saw Madden 20 on sale and had an itch after so long since some of my friends still play. I was hoping to find the same appeal in Ultimate Team and a more robust, challenging franchise mode but instead was pretty let down without any new delights to compensate. Best Trophy Image Champion of Barbs (Let It Die)Defeat all Jackals. Hey look! Those are all the Jackals being defeated! Huge fan of this game's art style, and it carries through in its trophies. Worst Trophy Image Stranded Deep Stranded Deep's individual trophy art is actually quite nice! Yet the above image is the game's cover photo. Uh.. why? You have this: Best Female CharacterRinoa (Final Fantasy VIII) After playing Final Fantasy VII, I thought VIII would suffer huge diminishing returns on emotional gravitas, enjoyment, etc. And it did (because I convinced myself), so I stopped playing quickly. When I picked the game back up after a couple of months, I left my expectations from VII behind and loved this story and game. Apparently this game is pretty divisive amongst FF fans, but I think those who can't get over the draw system or Rinoa (back off!) are missing out. Don't usually take much romance with my games, but f*ck it, some moments hit me here. Honorable mention to Kassandra from AC Odyssey who I probably spent most time with. Best Male Character Robin Banks (Divinity: Original Sin 2) Daughters, hide your mothers! That's exactly right. The elven rascal, a cannon made of glass, the polymorphic mage, Robin Banks, is coming to your town! Did he escape from jail? Yuh. Can he raise the dead? Yuh. Can he speak to animals? Oh yuh. Does he kill innocents? No one is innocent! Is he a god? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. And a cannibal?! THAT TOO. I'll add "best character creation" to my "best co-op game" accolades for DOS2. Best Plat of the Year Legendary Phantom Thief (Persona 5)Platinum. This game is incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed playing it all again in NG+, even with this being the most playtime before earning platinum in a game for me. I'd still start Persona 5 Royal in a heartbeat if I had it, and will surely make that purchase eventually. Highly recommended to any fans of turn-based, party-based RPG's even if anime style is out of your norm. Wurst Plat ov teh Yeer Space Pilot (Red Death)Platinum. I didn't get any plats that were that bad in 2020. I'll give it to Red Death as I was looking for another arcade-style/bullet hell shooter after Riddled Corpses and pulled this from my library. Wound up being a 25 minute plat while the promotional art and PS Store trailer had me thinking there would be more game here when I originally made the purchase. Most Anticipated Plat of 2021 Platinum (Call of Duty Black Ops 3)Platinum. Only speaking on behalf of currently owned games, I've been eager to plat one of the difficult COD's (did the new Modern Warfare, but it was pretty easy). Played the heck out of BO3 before I hunted trophies years ago and have made a recent return to the campaign. Effectively the only remaining challenges for my last 2 trophies are (1) finish the campaign on Realistic (basically one-shot death), which I have done for most missions (2) finish each campaign mission on Veteran+ (so, Veteran, lol) without dying which I will definitely need to tackle with a partner. This would become my rarest plat and third under 1% completion! Edited December 7, 2020 by Ya_Boy_James
Popular Post DrBloodmoney
Piece of Cake Award ZeroZeroZeroZero Not actually a bad game, but certainly an easy-breezy plat It's Like Dark Souls Lumines Remastered Beating the CPU without retries - I had been plugging away at this for over a year, and the feeling when I beat it was euphoric! Bad Ass Award Majika 2 The final boss on the hardest setting - failed about a hundred times, then just had one perfect run Grind of the Year Freedom Wars man, how I wished I hadn't started this game all those years ago, but I decided it wasn't going to beat me, but.... Jebus... what a slog. King of the Internet Resident Evil 5 Didn't play much online this year, but some RE5 Reastered with my buddy was still a good time. Worst Online Experience Freedom Wars Think online multiplayer is bad? Try finding a 4 person team on a years-old vita game that is nothing but grind. my main memory of this game is, and always will be, the empty player lobby.... Sleeper Hit of the Year Return of the Obra Dinn Hell of a game, basically multi-dimensional detective Sudoku, with a great story, interesting mechanics, and a killer look. Didn't expect much, but loved every minute. Biggest Bomb of the Year Knack 2 didn't hate it, didn't love it, didn't anything it. Markedly worse than the first one, and over long, under-hard and dull as ditchwater. Best Trophy Image Final Fantasy VII Remake - Dressed to the Nines Nuff said. Worst Trophy Image Superheat Mind Control Delete - All of them All the same. I get it, but still... Best Female Character Abby - The Last of Us Part II She's the bomb. Best Male Character Persona 5 Royal - Yusuke Drip of a dude turns out to be the funniest character, as well as the most wicked bad-ass fighter in the game Best Plat of the Year The Last of Us Part II A sublime game, beautifully crafted, paced, written, acted and executed. Wipes the floor with almost all other games this generation. Wurst Plat ov teh Yeer Colour Guardians Didn't play too much terrible stuff this year, but this one was both boring, frustrating and glitchy. Most Anticipated Plat of 2021 Hitman 3
Popular Post MrFudge
Piece of Cake AwardVampyr This platinum was very easy thanks to the incredible walkthrough made by OptinoobyIt's Like Dark SoulsVampyr This platinum was painfully difficult at times thanks to the Not even once trophy which necessitates gimping yourself with a sorely underlevelled character Bad Ass Award Destiny 2 Couldn't really think of many truly badass moments, but the new Behemoth subclass for Titans certainly makes you feel like one Grind of the Year Copying update file... I mostly refuse to grind for trophies nowadays, so I suppose waiting for update files to copy is the closest thing that gives me that same feeling of wanting to cave my own skull in King of the Internet Overwatch Earning this exclusive golden icon for my baby, TorbjornWorst Online Experience Destiny 2 NOT earning this exclusive emblem for completing the Deep Stone Crypt raid on day 1. I'm never one to flame my fireteam but holy shit did I do my part... ? Sleeper Hit of the Year Kingdom Come: Deliverance I fancied this game solely because the menus reminded me of the delightfully medieval ones found within Oblivion. What followed was by far one of the best RPGs I've ever played, a game both charming and gruelling that stands proudly amidst the AAA titles that dominate the genre Biggest Bomb of the Year Guacamelee 1 & 2 I'd heard nothing but the highest of praise for these games, and so after discovering a newfound love for metroidvanias I couldn't wait to play. Sadly I was greatly disappointed. Despite their vibrant colours and excitable music, they're just startlingly soulless Best Trophy Image Protector of Humanity (Darksiders III) The Darksiders series has always had an awesome style, and the trophy icons for III are no different. I especially love the gorgeous colours Worst Trophy Image Kill the Jailor (Furi) This might seem odd given the image above is pretty cool, but it's just the cover of the game pasted for every trophy. Also something about the vibe of Furi rubbed me the wrong way Best Female Character Atoi (Tearaway Unfolded) She might be little more than a canvas for your own imagination, but then that's also why we all love Sackboy. Cute character for the cutest of games. Honourable mentions: Nadine Ross (Uncharted 4) - Echo (Overwatch) - Fury (Darksiders III) Best Male Character Sigma (Overwatch) Chaotically destructive or endearingly polite? Depends which way the wind blows. Also helps that he is so very satisfying to play. Honourable mentions: Henry (Kingdom Come: Deliverance) - Leper (Darkest Dungeon)Best Platinum of the Year Vampyr I thoroughly enjoyed this story of vampires, war, and medicine Worst Platinum of the Year Vampyr I absolutely hated staring at my screen for 60 seconds every time I died Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 Super Meat Boy For the past 15 or so months I've slowly been working towards a slew of platinums that will - eventually - all be earned on the same day. This game is the hardest of the bunch and serves as the effective gatekeeper, since I can't be bothered to dedicate myself to hours and hours of endless deaths just yet. But when I finally set my mind to it it will be glorious, and I'll also then earn more than 1 platinum in an entire year ? Dr_Mayus
@DrBloodmoney yes Yusuke is the greatest ? @MrFudge lol, so you have the same game for easiest, hardest, best and worst ? Also well played on Grind of the Year. I dont think anyone has ever put that before. Keep the awards coming ?
Popular Post PooPooBlast
Yes! Another one! This year I've earnt 22 plats, on my way for 23 soon. Without further ado, I present to you, poopoo's review. EZPZ Award: I don't play games for easy plats but I did play a bunch of VNs this year and I'd have to give it to Steins;gate 0 because I dont recall that you have to go out of your way for the plat other than just reading it till the end. Really excellent read by the way! It's Like Dark Souls: Good god.. I think it's tied between resident evil 7 DLC and Shadow Warrior but I am going to have to go with the game that includes the dick-joke cracking mercenary! You need to beat each chapter on the hardest difficulty without dying once. Each chapter can take anywhere between 30-90 mins to complete depending on the length. You take MASSIVE amounts of damage and you do less damage as well! Such a good game though. Bad-ass Award: Without a doubt Yakuza 5 (perhaps some moments in Yakuza 6 too). If you ever need to play a game with lots of shirtless, sweaty muscular, tattooed middle aged men, then this is your game . Grind of the year: Didn't play a super grindy game this year but it's between Shadow Warrior 2 orb farming and Wolfenstein youngblood weapon levelling and I am going to have to go with Shadow warrior 2 just because I really enjoyed the shooting mechanics in youngblood so I didn't feel as bored as I thought I would. Both excellent games though King of the Internet/Worst Online Experience: Haha so I actually didn't start a new online game this year but I am still playing Tekken 7 so it wins these two awards by default . I actually really like the game so it's definitely not the worst online experience.. Here are my current stats. I don't really play ranked matches. I just hop on for fun. Sleeper Hit of the Year: This was a toughie! I would've chosen Plague Tale Innocence but at this point, almost everybody who plays it, acknowledges that it's flown under the radar by many gamers. So with that I choose DarkSiders 3 which I really enjoyed and didn't get the hate for it. Mind you, I played it much later after the patches which ironed out the bugs and introduced classic Darksiders combat mode which is so much better than the dark-soulsy gameplay. Biggest Bomb: This is almost a tie between Root Letter and Just Cause 4 but I'm going to have to go with Root Letter because I genuinely felt bored for most of it whereas EXPLOSIONSSSS can be fun if you get creative. The art style is amazing which I won't take that away from it. The writing was meh and it never clicked me because the dialogues were just.. awkward most of the time. Music was nice (THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THE MELODY AFTER WHICH IT DRIVES YOU NUTS) and it resets every time you exit the map menu which is stupid! I wouldn't really recommend the game. Best Trophy Image: HELL YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Worst Trophy Image: What the shit is that? . This is courtesy of Zero Escape. The other trophies are the same image except the colour changes.. Best Female Character: Amicia. The bar wasn't that hard to set to be honest because I didn't play that many games where you play as a female but Amicia would take the lead. Her VA is really great and sold me on a lot of scenes. Best Male Character: Saejima. Normally I'd choose Kiryu from Yakuza but as soon as Saejima was introduced, I knew he was the one! Best Plat of the year: Yakuza 5. I would've chosen Shadow Warrior but the clause was that it's a game that I need to want to replay again and stack it haha so hell naw it won't be Shadow Warrior!! Worst Plat of the year: Don't really have one but if I had to dig deep, it's gotta go for Root Letter. I didn't like that game. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021: This game was supposed to be my most anticipated of 2020 but it got delayed and that's dying light 2. Popular Post DamagingRob
Piece of Cake Award Super Hang-On Super quick, super easy, and the only game that I finished in under an hour this year. It's Like Dark Souls Resident Evil 2 Yeah, this one probably seems like a shock. "You've done so many UR Plats this year, and struggled with an Uncommon one?" But this game is no joke for someone rather new to the genre, and refused to buy the DLC that makes it ezpz. Still loved it, though. Just took me awhile, with many breaks needed. Bad Ass Award MLB The Show 13's Disrespected trophy This was a platinum stopper for me for a long, long time. Finally getting it, and then finishing the plat after 7+ years is one of my proudest accomplishments this year. Grind of the Year Injustice 2's Cat Call trophy The pain.. You know what this is, if you ever played it. This is my most played game this year, according to Exophase. And it's all because of that trophy, and horrible RNG. Fall Guys is the only thing close, and I hope it overtakes it. King of the InternetFall Guys Like I said above, it's my second most played game this year. Lol. And just because I enjoyed playing it, more so with friends. I never thought I'd get the Plat, and likely won't. Certainly not skilled enough to win consistently, and the competition is only going to get better and better. Worst Online Experience Red Dead Redemption II . Just an all around miserable time, going for the multiplayer trophies. Sleeper Hit of the Year Will: A Wonderful World I'll just go with this, I guess. Certainly felt like a high quality visual novel to me, at least. But I'd heard nothing about it, and went in with no expectations. Biggest Bomb of the Year Vampyr Just awful. I have a hard time believing anyone who says they enjoyed this. Constantly hit with game freezes as you travel, so the game can load. Mediocre in pretty much every other aspect. Dontnod had been a dev I could rely on to deliver great, underrated games before this one.. Best Trophy Image Not going to go through thousands of trophies, but these are the two best platinum images: Finally seeing my favorite Digimon line represented in Digimon World: Next Order is awesome. Gabumon. And how do you not love Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal's? ? Worst Trophy Image Madden 18/19 and Doom While it's super easy to pick on EA and their ugly coins for Madden games, gotta say Doom's is a close runner up. Best Female Character Claire Redfield She's just too adorable in RE2. Leon needs to wake the hell up, and continue the Redfield bloodline. Honorary mentions: Makoto and Sayama from Yakuza, Makoto from Persona 5, Tama from 428: Shibuya Scramble, and Amicia from A Plague Tale. Best Male Character Well, Trunks was in Jump Force, so I guess that's that.. But seriously, Majima: How do you not love this guy? Honorary mentions: Kazuma Kiryu also from Yakuza, Deacon St. John from Days Gone, Yusuke from Persona 5, and Achi Endo from 428: Shibuya Scramble.Best Platinum of the Year Yakuza 0 May never be topped as the best in the series. Worst Platinum of the Year School Girl/Zombie Hunter Ugh.. Brings back awful memories. 3 playthroughs, farming missions over and over for RNG weapon drops, maze levels that sucked to navigate with exploding enemies everywhere (was Mr. Torque on the dev team?) SSS ranks on every single mission for each of the 3 difficulties... Just a tremendous pain in my ass. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 Don't know for sure. My 500th? I do hope the new DBZ game is really good, and it has an awesome Vegito icon for its platinum image: I might want that displayed somewhere in my milestones. Best fusion character.

Popular Post Copanele
On 03/12/2020 at 0:31 AM, Dr_Mayus said: Fucking Cat Call ☹ anyone that has played Injustice 2 and doesn't put that trophy as their grindiest must have played something unspeakable that year At least you can turbo that one I have something way worse, which I will cover in my following list : PIECE OF CAKE AWARD - Cat Quest II Easy game?Absolutely? A super fun and adorable game? Absolutely x2. Sequel to Cat Quest did not disappoint, since now it added a new protagonist ,the most adorable pupper in videogames. Can't wait for Cat Quest III. IT'S LIKE DARK SOULS - ULTRA STREET FIGHTER IV I know, I know, the title is used just for the memes, but honestly DS is kindergarden level compared to this monsterjam. Platinuming and 100%ing this bastard of a game took me a fuckton of time and dedication (yeah I am not that good at fighting games). Those trials really tested my patience but with lots of perseverance, support from community and a status update with 200+ replies, got this bad boy down Seriously, I'd rather play Dark Souls on bongos than do SF4 again. BADASS AWARD - ULTIMATE BATTLER BUG(Injustice Gods Among Us) So this trophy asks you to do all arcade modes in Injustice 1, a...mediocre game, to be gentle. One of these arcades is called Impossible! which asks you to defeat the entire Injustice cast with one life bar. That's 24 characters, you regain some health bar after each fight, depending on several tasks. Issue is...the first time I managed to do Impossible, the game actually glitched and my score did not record (when the game has long loading times, means it has glitched and has to be restarted). So after defeating 24 characters and not getting the trophy, I sighed and...replayed the entire shit again and won a second time. Game finally decided to give me the stupid trophy. Might not be the worst thing I ever did, since Solomon Grundy is easy peasy, but I felt like a badass nonetheless GRIND OF THE YEAR - MORTAL KOMBAT : My Kung Fu is Stronger Here's the one that I think it killed me worse than Cat Call @Dr_Mayus : MY KUNG FU IS STRONGER. 24 hours ingame with each character, 150 x rays, 100 fatalities, 10.000 pints of blood spilled. Not only that, grinding for 2500 Respect points was abysmal, the 300 levels tower again...horrible....this game was an insane grind from top to bottom. Truth be told, both MK and Injustice come from the same dev so...yeah I can see where the stupid grind comes from KING OF THE INTERNET - STREET FIGHTER 5 The game that almost made me tear my hair in frustration but also motivated me to get better like no other. Stupid Gold League took me alot to achieve, especially since my fighting game expertise was meh before this entry. But in the end, the platinum was mine. And not going to lie, was fun learning to play as Cody and beat the opponents. In the end, I truly loved playing online, HOWEVER.... WORST ONLINE EXPERIENCE - STREET FIGHTER 5 Yeah this game was also my worst online experience ever. Laggers, quitters, Ken spammers (this was my fault for falling to those tricks, I admit ) ... SF5 online was a hive of scumbags and villainy. Forged in fire I say. I keep this game to play the new upcoming characters then castus deletus on it. SLEEPER HIT OF THE YEAR - BLUR All I knew about Blur was that it's that game with cars and powerups. Even when I first played it, it was like 2 races and then quitted the game. It was this year that I decided to finally fire up this game and MY GOD DID I LOVE IT. It was pure adrenaline, the online was super fun (and functional) and it was one of those platinums that wasn't absurdly difficult but it required mastery of the game. Definitely a sleeper hit since I did not expect it. BIGGEST BOMB OF THE YEAR - DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ Ok so before you torch me because of this pick, let me first mention this : I do not believe DBFZ is a bad game. Not at all, it's a faithful representation and homage to the great series. HOWEVER...I have never been so disappointed by an overhyped game. I could not get invested in ANY character (maybe Kefla but not even her), there were too many Gokus, story was beyond trash and overall the game was just a boring headache for me. The only thing that I enjoyed in this game was one soundtrack. That's it. At least I was one of the lucky ones who had the 20 mil zeni in 5 minutes due to some reward going wrong... BEST TROPHY IMAGE - TRUE SUCCESSOR OF HOKUTO SHINKEN (Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise) You just can't go wrong with Kenshiro here WORST TROPHY IMAGE - MASTER OF MORDOR (Middle-earth : Shadow of Mordor) It's not a bad looking picture but...all the other trophies are Middle Earth related or game related. The hell you giving me a platinum cup as the final icon? Give me the Eye of Sauron or some crap! BEST FEMALE CHARACTER - Alice Liddell (Alice Madness Returns) One of the best heroines in one of the best games I have played this year. Alice is one of my favorite main characters ever and I still wait for the promised 3rd part! BEST MALE CHARACTER - Eddie Riggs (Brutal Legend) Truly the greatest roadie in the world. Blessed with the voice of Jack Black and guided by the Lords of Metal, Eddie is my pick for 2020. May I hear his DECAPITATION roar again soon BEST PLATINUM OF THE YEAR - ASSASSIN'S CREED VALHALLA As promised, got the platinum 1 day after posting this. Funny enough, this is the first and probably only AC game that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish without feeling too burnt out (minus the bugs). So yeah, it's not my game of the year, but it is for sure my plat of the year. WORST PLATINUM OF THE YEAR - ONE PIECE: PIRATE WARRIORS 3 A turd of a game with a crap platinum. 0 enjoyment came from this abysmal game, I seriously wondered why I was doing this to myself while grinding for crew levels. This game was a slog and I wish someone would buy my CD so I can get rid of the curse and pass it on another. MOST ANTICIPATED PLATINUM OF 2021 - GUILTY GEAR STRIVE For better or worse I have dedicated my love for this series. I am eagerly awaiting Strive and even if the game won't rise to the expectations that I have, the way the Japanese devs are approaching the game as a future member of the Fighting Game genre makes me eager to support them. Improving netcode to rollback and actually receiving and listening to fan feedback is one big step forward in the Japanese industry. At least in my opinion These are my picks for this year. 2020 was (unfortunately) a bountiful year in terms of gaming, but it's not the way I wished it to be, due to quarantine. Stay safe everyone and I can't wait to read other inputs from the rest of the members ! Edited December 3, 2020 by Copanele
Dr_Mayus
@Copanele ok...sure yeah MK9 beats for grindy. I will say that game at least gives you a tracker to know when you are almost done though. I will tell you about my experience though. I had finished 4 characters so i decided to save to the cloud...i screwed up though and over wrote my save instead meaning i had to do those 4 characters again.
Popular Post timpurnat
Piece of Cake Award Probably played well over 800 of these type of games this year xD, but the easiest one is (yeah ofc it's a rata game lol)the language of love, an auto-playing VN, well that's everything I can say about this one haha. It's Like Dark Souls I am bread for sure, the game by itself isn't that hard but glitched make it unbearable on some points, yeah I'm talking to you garden cheese hunt level, you annoying son of a bitch lmao. It really tested my patience, I remember playing one level for like 6h straight while listening to the same song over and over again haha, which drove me mad but it really helped me stay focused.Bad Ass Award I never played a lot of fighting games and I sucked at them a lot, but my friend @Atoya got me into the fighting game genre. Later this year we decided to tackle one of the "hardest" fighting game plats Injustice gods among us. I gotta admit, I was very nervous about starting it because I heard people say that it's extremely hard and I thought I couldn't get it done lol. But one day I decided to sit down and finish all 4 stacks back to back. I started with LAB mode, then battle mode, and so on, I played the same mode until I finished it on all 4 stacks. The first stack was the hardest of course but in the end, I got a better understanding of the game and I was able to do all other stacks with ease. I overestimated the difficulty as most people do on the internet lol so yeah lesson learned. But what makes this badass for me is only playing this game for a few weeks at least 12h a day(it was a summer break, I have a life ) without losing my sanity, but yeah you feel pretty badass after popping all these URs Grind of the YearFriday the 13th This game is the longest game I self boosted this year, I only boosted 8 player trophy, everything else I did with 2 consoles. It honestly wasn't that bad, since I could watch yt or play something else while boosting.King of the Internet I mostly boosted games this year so I didn't really play a lot for fun, so I enjoyed Medal of Honor mp the most since I actually played the game online for a while. Worst Online Experience Battlefantasia Online in this game is absolutely atrocious, wins don't save or completely reset so I had to do this in one sitting. At times I thought the game went down in the middle of the boost lol, It had an extremely bad frame rate to the point the game was unplayable, absolutely disgusting, don't recommend it. Sleeper Hit of the Year Playstation VR Worlds I know most people know this game since you get it with every VR, but I never really thought much about it. I thought that it was just a basic introduction to VR with some mini-games, but it's much more than that. It was one of the most fun games I played this year, some games were challenging but fair to the point I didn't mind spending time retrying. Biggest Bomb of the Year Borderlands Game of the year edition IDK where to even start with this mess, I and my friends were looking forward to this game but we sadly encountered a lot of glitches in the coop. The game felt like a chore at the end with MOXI's DLC which is the most broken thing I saw in my life, hands down the biggest time-waster of the year. I tried all possible solutions which make the game crash less often but it still crashed on me a couple of times. So yeah wish I played something better instead haha Best Trophy ImageStreet fighter x tekken-Zenith Best trophy image and name I ever saw, I made the game a milestone twice just because of that lol Worst Trophy Image SuperheroX-MMA This shitty game is also a contender for the worst game I played this year haha, all trophy pics are the same and very lazy. So yeah just a little bit better than a picture of a trophy in some old ps3 games Best Female Character Lyla from life is strange 2 Even tho she doesn't have a lot of screen time I really liked her. She is the only reason I watched all remaining endings on YT Best Male Character Ezio Auditore He is an awesome character, he makes AC games good lol, I only really enjoyed his trilogy in the series, the best assassin for sure.Best Platinum of the Year Tricky towers I love this game, I like the gameplay, challenge, how it looks, basically EVERYTHING. It can be a little RNG at times but I didn't mind at all, getting the platinum in this was challenging but I felt it was fair and I had an absolute blast playing it. Worst Platinum of the Year ChromaGun This piece of shit of a game was the first game that made me question myself: "Why am I even doing this" lmao, I hated every second of it even tho it wasn't that long, I found gameplay absolutely unbearable and a pretty shitty guide didn't help either. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 Time crisis razing storm I'm currently boosting online, but I will soon start working on single-player stuff. I'm very excited about this one, I love getting old school UR ps3 plats and I think this one is especially badass Edited December 3, 2020 by timpurnat

Dr_Mayus
@timpurnat lol, i just finished LiS2 and I was like "who the hell is lyla". I then looked her up and realized she was the friend from the beginning of the game. I didnt contact her again as i didnt want the cops to be able to trace me and I completely forgot about the friends at the start ? Also Borderlands sucks, I was so bored playing it even when i had friends playing with me.

I was constantly expecting something would happen with her, idk she seemed like a nice and interesting character so I thought they would bring her back in the later episodes lol And yeah I don't think I'm playing any borderlands game another time soon, I started with BL2(my fav one) and I really enjoyed it, I think it set my standards too high so now I can't really enjoy the other games in the series Edited December 3, 2020 by timpurnat

Popular Post IGUnique
Piece of Cake Award This year I did not do a super easy game, I did do hitman go but only used a guide for a few levels. I will pick Astro Playroom for the piece of cake award. Just because this game is so brilliant but still easy to get. It's Like Dark Souls So I platinumed my first soulsboorne game ever in the form of Bloodborne, but on the other hand I worked so hard on Tetris Effect and getting really good at that game. Looking back I think Tetris Effect was harder. Bad Ass Award Again hard to choose between Tetris and Bloodborne. The moment I beat Orphon of Kos and Lawrence from the old hunter DLC where pretty "bad ass" for a souls noob. However getting the SS everywhere trophy also felt like a badass, but also a bit like a nerd. Guess I will give this one to the beating of Orphan of Kos Grind of the Year Tetris Effect with the 1 million Rotations. Took about 10 hours of just spamming the X and Square button. Lost a few brain cells doing that...King of the Internet So I like Call of Duty and I do love the zombies, but It's just me and 1 friend who are really invested in getting all the trophies so most of the times we complete all stepts but never manage to complete the Easter Eggs on the DLC maps. We looked for some other people to play with and we managed to complete all COD WW2 and all Black ops 3 Zombie Easter Eggs. Had a really fun time doing this as well with some random people. Worst Online Experience Injustice gods among us, even with a group of 5 people we where not able to complete a single KOTH match cause the server kept throwing everyone out of the lobby...... Sleeper Hit of the Year I hadn't heared or seen much of the gameplay of A plague Tale Innocence when I picked it up, but I ended op loving the game and the gameplay. So much fun and such a good time and atmosphere in the game. Biggest Bomb of the Year Some shitty triple A Game you say? I did get the platinum for this game last year but still play some career mode every now and then. Also for the first time in 15 years I have not bought it at launch. I'm talking about Gambling machine 20 ofcourse! (FIFA 20). Best Trophy Image I just like the Astro playroom trophy image. Worst Trophy Image Tour de France 2014.... For this platinum you have to "ride" the tour with every single team and you need to get all objectives with everyteam possible. It was a grind but I really liked the mechanics even at the very end of the game I still enjoyed it. The trophy however is just the same as all the bronze/silver/gold ones but then it's blue..... 24 trophies in 1 game and this is all you can come up with..... Best Female Character I finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider back in January, but I still love Lara Croft and how she changed within the tomb raider series on ps4. Best Male Character There is only one this year, Jin Sakai! Best Platinum of the Year I think Astro was amazing but I will give this one to Ghost of Tsushima. After so many hours the world was still amazing nog boring and the platinum very fun to get. Worst Platinum of the Year There can only be one...... FALL **** u Guys. Had some legit 4 win streaks but I gave up. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 Impossible to pick one, mainly because it's not sure which games are comming out. I really wanna play the new Ratchet and Clank but also the new God Of War and Horizon forbidden west. Guess I will give it to Ratchet and Clank cause that one will for sure come out in 2021.
Popular Post jonesey46
Never done this before so happy to contribute this year and I look forward to reading everyone's responses. Piece of Cake Award Doom 64 The game isn't easy by any means if you play it properly but since you could use level passwords to unlock all trophies in less than an hour, this definitely gets the award. It's Like Dark Souls Dead Space 2 Beating Hardcore mode, which is the hardest difficulty with only 3 saves, was a stressful experience to say the least.Bad Ass Award Resident Evil 2 My first playthrough of this took me close to 20 hours but on subsequent playthroughs I was knocking the time down and by the end I was beating it in 3 hours. Feels so incredibly good to learn a game almost inside out. Grind of the Year The Crew This game pretty much took me the whole summer to complete. There's so much to do and so many boxes to tick. For one trophy I had to do a race that lasted 4 hours long and for another I had to do 200 laps round a racetrack. Beyond tedious but once all was said and done I was super happy to have done it.King of the Internet Ghost of Tsushima - Legends Mode This MP mode came out of nowhere and was so well designed it actually shocked me. I'm not a big fan of multiplayer but had a lot of fun playing this. I'm still to level up a couple more characters and do the raid though. I'll get round to it some day.Worst Online Experience Doom Eternal - Battlemode Such a disappointment. Doom 2016's mutliplayer was an absolute blast and I had so much fun going for all the DLC stuff last year but Doom Eternal's MP offering is just mind-numbingly boring. The campaign of Eternal is worth the price of admission alone so the MP is just an extra to me, but boosting those few trophies for it was sending me to sleep. Sleeper Hit of the Year Ghostrunner I went from knowing absolutely nothing about this game to pre-ordering it within about 5 minutes after seeing an ad for it on YouTube. It's like a cyberpunk parkour game with one hit one kill mechanics using a sword. It's got an amazing soundtrack and visuals too. I adore this game. Biggest Bomb of the Year The Last of Us Part II I went back and forth on this game like a fucking yo-yo. I hated it at first, then after a couple of weeks I started to re-assess my thoughts on it, watched some analysis videos on YouTube and read a couple of review/essays on it and started to really appreciate it. Then I actually played it again for myself and finally came to terms with the fact that I 100% do not like this game. The game is fine, looks good, acted well, gameplay is OK. But ultimately I played this game for the story and it let me down big time. Best Trophy Image The Last of Us Part II - Numismatist Despite not liking the game, this trophy art stood out to me and there's just something really satisfying about it's design. Worst Trophy Image Dead Space: Extraction - All of them I mean, they made no effort what so ever. It's the same image just coloured differently for Bronze, Silver and Gold. Pathetic. Best Female Character Control - Jesse Faden She's badass and a red-head. What more is there to say? Best Male Character Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Miles Morales A truly amazing and inspiring character, proving that Spider-Man can be anyone under the mask. INCLUDING YOU. Best Platinum of the Year Death Stranding - Greatest of Great Deliverers A game that screams tedium when you look at its trophy list but one I enjoyed every minute of. Worst Platinum of the Year The Last of Us Part II - Every Last One of Them When I was halfway through my second playthrough and the penny dropped that I definitely didn't like this game. I detested going through the rest of it just to finish off the platinum. I still have Grounded mode to do! No chance I'll be doing that any time soon, if ever. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 Deathloop I adore Arkane and anything they do so sign me the fuck up for this game and platinum cause I will be all over that shit. Can't wait. This was super fun to do. Hopefully my post doesn't take up too much room! Edited December 3, 2020 by jonesey46
Dr_Mayus
Good picks so far. I am still waiting to see if i plat castlevania this year before i decide. Also welcome @jonesey46 these are always fun to read ?
Popular Post Clarink
Piece of Cake Award Persona 3 & 5 Dancing The game can be very hard on harder difficulty but the trophies only asks you the bare minimum. It's Like Dark Souls Sekiro FromSoftware so yeah. Bad Ass Award Sekiro The perfect mix between godlike animations, difficulty and incredibly fluid gameplay. The boss fights with other swordfighters were out of this world. Grind of the Year Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Collecting golden crowns for all the new monsters. I waited a while before jumping into this extension just because of these trophies. King of the Internet Monster Hunter World: Iceborne I had a blast with my friends on late night hunts. My favorite online experience in a while. Worst Online Experience Wipeout Omega Collection Deserted online + somewhat grindy online trophies = -(fun²) Sleeper Hit of the Year AI: The Somnium Files I'm a big fan of Uchikoshi's games, and I hadn't noticed the game was out several months after its lauch. Like always I got Mindblasted. Biggest Bomb of the Year Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Remastered It was one of my most anticipated games this year. Played it a ton as a teenager and even bought the guide book. Unfortunatly Square threw the online coop to the shitter and I finally had to play all the game solo. Really disappointed. Best Female Character Claire Redfield: Resident Evil 2 Remake I didn't care much about her in the original but in the remake there are some part of the game where she made Leon look like a bitch. And Leon is one of my all time favorite game characters Best Male Character Cloud Strife: Final Fantasy VII Remake My top dude. I still can't believe I played the remake (Midgar Arc) finally. It feels surreal. Best Platinum of the Year Sekiro I was so sad when the platinum popped. I wanted so much more content with this game but it still was perfect. One of the greatese game of this generation imo. Worst Platinum of the Year Star Ocean 4:The Last Hope International Nearly 7 years with this game in my backlog. I played it at small dose over the years and completed it at the start of the year. Never again. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 Demon's Souls (Remake) The game I will play first when I put my hands on a PS5. I got the platinum for the 3 Dark souls, Bloodborne and now Sekiro but never had this game. So I am even more hype to discover a new Myazaki game. A very good year of gaming for me. And with my backlog filled with even more critically aclaimed games, I think 2021 will be awesome. Cheers to y'all crazy hunters!
Popular Post Exeshow678
Piece of Cake Award Jack N' Jill DX I'm gonna say this now... I got my PS4 on Christmas 2019, but i didn't start plating games till March 2020, so i'm still kinda new to this, but this game was STUPIDLY EASY (and I platted both mayo 1 & 2) at least with those you press X a few thousand times, but I think this game was easier than them It's Like Dark Souls Grand Theft Auto V (PS4) YES. I PLATTED GTA V for PS4, and it's probably the only thing worth bragging about for me right now, but yeah, it was long and sometimes boring, but on July 11th, 2020 at around 4:13 AM CT, I not only reached rank 100 on GTA Online, but i achieved the Platinum Trophy Bad Ass Award Los Santos Legend Just like the one above, I praised the the mighty lord above when that little trophy pop notification popped up, I felt so achieved in something, let's hope I'll have more of those moments in the future Grind of the Year Minecraft Holy crap, this one took awhile to do and it was only my 2nd PLATINUM!!!, all the little tasks I had to do for the sweet plat were unique I'll say at that King of the Internet 3-Way Tie (GTA V, Fall Guys & UNO) A lot of laughs were had with these 3 games, I couldn't decide on one of them, all 3 were that good, sad to see fall guys FALL of the radar to most people, either due to it becoming stale or that infamous Infallible trophy, GTA V is fun sometimes, mostly due to heists and goofing off somewhere on the map and UNO is well.....UNO, almost every match is fun, whether it be one of your friends gets 20+ cards or something insane happens, UNO is always a fun time-waster Worst Online Experience Jump Force I tried to play online and everytime I tried to get online, my game crashed and when it finally worked, I either sucked at the game OR I got REKT in the game by someone WAY HIGHER UP in levels then me Sleeper Hit of the Year Mafia: Definitive Edition This game is...Awesome. People need to play this more and I know its a REMAKE of the original, but unlike the "definitive editions" for Mafia II and III, this one is an actual remake of the 1st game, and from what i've played, i've encountered NO glitches, but I did think the driving was gonna be similar to GTA V, but I was wrong, the driving is weird at first, but you get used to it after awhile, then there's "THE RACE" and it took me only 3 tries, but it's not the WORST thing ever, just a few attempts and it was fine. But give this a try and if you like it, good and if you don't, that's fine. AND it's also an easy plat. Biggest Bomb of the Year The Forest Some of my friends were playing this and one of them got it for me and it's fine, but it's a little too boring FOR ME, that's what I think, but I dont think i should say that cause I have YET to beat it, but that wont be happening for awhile now, so I probably wont be returning to this game, but it's not a BAD GAME, i just thought it was a little boring Best Trophy Image Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight - Dancing in Starlight To me, this game will hold a special place in my heart, cause not only is it the game that got me into the Persona series, but it's just a good game in my opinion, yeah sure it's a rhythm game, but I think it was all the social talk that made me like this game so much, so even though the trophy image might not be all that cool looking like some others, but it's truly a good game too (P3D is at the same level too) Worst Trophy Image Road Bustle - Platinum deliveryman Road Bustle was clearly made as an easy plat and is my quickest platinum to date, but I DIDN'T EVEN ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME, I just kept running into a wall and the game gave me the trophies, so this game is a joke and the platinum image is just......ugh...... not good Best Female Character (Ann Takamaki from Persona 5) I think i'm sinking to a bottom level here for this choice, but to be honest, I like ann. I like her character and yes i know literally p5 fan says makoto is the best, and good for them, I like her aswell but I like ann better her whole relationship with shiho in the beginning is cute and kind, but takes a turn when she well..... tries to "you know what" and ann is determined to kick kamoshida's ass and when we finally defeat him, it's such a cool, epic moment Best Male Character (Arthur Morgan from Red Dead Redemption II) Arthur Morgan is one of those guys who tries to change themselves over the course of the game, then again I'm still in the process of playing the game, but his relationship with the other members of the gang slowly grows overtime with some, and with the others he's best buds with them Best Soundtrack Another 3-Way Tie (Persona 5, RDR2 & DOOM Eternal) These are just probably my top 3, but all 3 of these are awesome Persona 5 - this may sound cheep, but the music is truly awesome, basically any piece of music in this game is pretty damn good Red Dead Redemption II - the music in this game is awesome, sometimes beautiful, sometimes suspenseful and it's always in the right moment, cause it could be a scenery cutscene and it's sunset and it would be the perfect music and it could be a train heist and would kick into high gear with some high, action, suspenseful moment DOOM Eternal - the music is awesome, everywhere you go there's always some metal music playing and it's even better when your fighting a huge demon Best Platinum of the Year Los Santos Legend - Grand Theft Auto V I've already talked about this before, but this (as of right now) is my crowning jewel, this is my bragging right, everything else is just......eh Worst Platinum of the Year Platinum deliveryman - Road Bustle already talked about it and yeah......it sucked Most anticipated release of 2021 (Goodbye Volcano High [JOKE], P5S coming to the West & The Next Sonic game We've already seen the GOTY for this year and it went to Bugsnax, Obviously BUT I have yet to play it, but I already know it's GOTY worthy, now with that being said, GOODBYE VOLCANO HIGH is already looking at claiming that GOTY spot next year it it will "totally" be worth your time P5S is finally coming to the US in February 2021 and even though I'm still in the process of playing P5R, this is the sequel set 6 months after P5 and it looks to be pretty different from previous persona games Next year is Sonic's 30th anniversary and hopefully we'll see the next mainline game, whether it be a new, original game, a sequel, a remake, or sonic mania 2. let's HOPE it's a good sonic game and not short and bad like Forces Hoped ya'll liked cuz this took me 3 days to make (not kidding)
Dr_Mayus
Thanks @Exeshow678. I also like Soundtrack. Maybe it will be on the ballot next year ?
Solarus755
Piece of Cake Award - Ghost of Tsushima I'm not a fan of super easy plats, but I am a fan of immersive stories with cinematic qualities. Ghost of Tsushima was a whole lot of fun, but not a huge challenge. The story and cinematic flow of the gameplay kept me coming back for more however. It's Like Dark Souls Award - Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout This is a bit of a weird one. I've gotten several plats this year more rare than Fall Guys, but this is definitely the one that gave me the most trouble. Getting infallible without using the glitch had me playing this game obsessively, and getting several 3 and 4 streaks only to lose it became very demoralizing. You can become very skilled and consistent at Fall Guys until it's only a matter of time before a 5 game streak happens, but the luck element is ultimately what will determine if that "matter of time" is 5 minutes or 5 weeks. Keeping motivated to keep trying is what made this one challenging. Super fun game though! Bad Ass Award - Shadow Warrior: Finishing Chapter 16 Courtyard Fight on Heroic This was a tough decision. There were more "epic" moments I've had this year playing games (moments in The Witcher 3, The Last of Us Part 2, and FFVII:R come to mind), but as far as a moment that made me think "hell yeah", it's tough to beat finally finishing the Courtyard fight in Shadow Warrior. This fight is magnitudes more difficult than anything else in the game, and easily the most frantic. After getting demolished a number of times and having to trudge back to this fight from the start of the chapter over and over to get slightly further each time, it was a huge relief when I finally got over the frantic hump and just needed to clean up the leftovers. It felt like a victory lap, as did the rest of the game. Grind of the Year Award - Destiny 2: Seal the Deal trophy As I was scanning down my list trying to decide on this one, as soon as I saw Destiny I immediately stopped because I didn't need to see the rest. This trophy made me never want to play a Destiny game ever again, and is not only the grindiest trophy I've gotten this year, but the grindiest trophy I've ever gotten. Even though I'm still slowly chipping away at the plats for Star Ocean: The Last Hope, and MK9 and both will take more total hours to complete, this trophy is the only grind that has ever made me rage and dream for the end of the torment. This trophy is not required for the platinum (which is actually pretty easy to get and I've had for quite a while already), and is instead a BRONZE trophy in the Forsaken DLC. This bronze requires more hours by itself than what is required to plat the core game, and becomes a tedious grind very early in the process. Between having to endlessly farm old content that nobody does anymore through multiple weekly resets, to relying on the RNG gods for nightfall runs on one specific nightfall (if you're lucky enough to get it that week), to farming nodes on Mars, getting this trophy was more a relief for never having to play Destiny again than a feeling of excitement. Never again. King of the Internet - Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout This game is incredibly fun. 'nuff said. Mediatonic caught lightning in a bottle with this game, and it is incredibly addictive, fun, and appealing to a wide demographic. I wish more online games were like this. Worst Online Experience - Resident Evil Revelations I actually really like this game. But raid mode online is very dead, and grinding out the plat online solo is less than fun. I'll come back to this when I can get a boosting partner to work through this with. Sleeper Hit of the Year - La-Mulana EX I have no idea why I haven't played this game before this year, but I'm glad I fixed that problem. La-Mulana EX is an amalgamation of a huge number of features I like in a game. Metroidvania? Check. Hardcore challenge? Check. Retro visuals? Check. Amazing soundtrack? Check. Cryptic puzzle-solving? Mega check. If you like metroidvanias and a real challenge, you owe it to yourself to play this one. This is my new favorite metroidvania of all time. I can't wait to get around to playing the sequel. Biggest Bomb of the Year - Tales of Hearts R I grew up loving the Tales series. Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Vesperia are among my favorite JRPGs of all time. Imagine how disappointed I was when I played this mess. The story and combat are both bad, and none of the characters are memorable. I only got about 5 hours into the game before I was too bored and unmotivated to continue. It currently stands as the only game on my entire profile lower than an A rank. I will begrudgingly come back to chip away at this since I'm a completionist, but I doubt I will find much enjoyment doing so. Best Trophy Image - FFVII Remake: Master of Fate I mean look at it. Looks pretty cool! Dominator in Resident Evil 3 was another good one. Worst Trophy Image: Tales of Hearts R: Any of them except the platinum All of the trophies are this stupid whale except for the platinum, just in different colors depending on what grade of trophy it is. They also have absurdly weird and long descriptions. I chose bronze because it's also the worst grade of trophy. Best Female Character - Abby from the Last of Us Part 2 The Last of Us part 2 is clearly the most divisive game of the year. You either love it or hate it depending on your interpretation of the characters and story. I can say resoundingly that I loved this game and thought it was better than the first one. The character of Abby and how I felt about her went through a rollercoaster arc from start to finish. Without getting into spoiler territory, the game does a phenomenal job of guiding your emotions to drastically shift how you feel about Abby throughout the course of the game, and she became my underdog favorite female videogame character of the year. Best Male Character - Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt I finally got around to playing the Witcher 3 this year... It's crazy that it took me this long to do so, but I became obsessed, and in particular really enjoyed the brooding, but good intentioned Geralt of Rivia. He'll go down as one of the greatest video game characters of all time. Best Plat of the Year - La-Mulana EX: Ultimate Archaeologist I'll get this out of the way right now: 2020 was an insane year for games, and it's tough to choose my game of the year. Among games released in 2020, The Last of Us Part 2 is probably the winner, though FFVII Remake is no slouch. Among games that I've first played this year, it would probably be a fight to the death between The Witcher 3 and The Last of Us 2. But without a shadow of a doubt, the best platinum for the year goes to La-Mulana EX. the game itself was already phenomenally fun, but a lot of the trophies had requirements that enhanced the rewarding feel of the game, and got you to play in specific ways. You were no longer just hunting for items and secrets in game, but also on your profile through the trophy list. An already difficult game was made extra hard by having to activate hard mode. Not using sub-weapons on bosses made it even more difficult but rewarding, and completing a myriad number of requirements to get all characters in the ending makes you play the game to absolute completion, which is something you would otherwise have a hard time doing. This plat was a blast and I highly recommend anybody up for a hard but fair challenge to give it a shot. No game has ever made me feel like a treasure hunter quite like this one. Worst Plat of the Year - The witness: Platinum I liked The Witness, but hated this lazy trophy list. If you get all the lasers, there's only one trophy that you have to go out of your way to get, and even though it's a fun challenge, it's not enough to make the platinum feel terribly rewarding as a whole. Most Anticipated Platinum of 2021 - Cyberpunk 2077 The hype is very real for Cyberpunk 2077, and although it will be releasing in 2020, if the Witcher 3 is any guide, it will be a length platinum indeed and I may not finish until January 2021. I am more excited than the average fanboy for this game. I've been obsessed with the cyberpunk genre since I was a kid, where I first watch Akira and Ghost in the Shell, and read William Gibson's Neuromancer. Bladerunner and its sequel are among my top 5 favorite movies of all time (as is Aliens which borrows a number of Cyberpunk elements). I enjoyed playing the Shadowrun TTRPG in high school and university, and my favorite card game of all time is Android Netrunner which I played for years (including going to the world championships for in 2016). To say I am a fan of the cyberpunk genre would be the understatement of the century. I absorb the genre, and am excited when any new addition to the media comes out. The fact that this game looks incredible, is made by the developers of one of my favorite games of all time in the Witcher 3, has been crushing it on early impressions, and appears to lean heavy into the RPG elements just makes me even more excited. It feels surreal that this is coming out next week. I was still finishing up my undergrad when this game was announced. I have passed several major personal and professional milestones since then, always looking forward to the release. It is finally upon us, and I have never been as excited for a game release as this one. Edited December 5, 2020 by Solarus755
