Trophies can be earned out of order.

This game does have a hidden "Level Select" feature. 

 

Pressing left on the D-Pad will start you off at level 2. 

Pressing right on the D-Pad will start you off at level 6

Pressing Up on the D-Pad will start you off at level 4. 

 

This is important for a couple of reasons. 

 

One is that this means the trophies can be earned out of order.  If you start the game on level 2, you will not get credit for running to level 2, which means no corresponding trophy.  You can earn the ones for making it to levels 4 and 6, however.  If you start at level 4, you won't get the credit for making it to levels 2 or 4, but can get the one for making it to level 6.    This means that the trophies for making it to levels 2, 4, and 6 can be earned out of order. 

 

More importantly, when you start at level 6, the game goes so quickly that you can literally hold down the X button at the start of the race (you must do this *right* at the start of each race, not after the "Ready?" stops flashing.), and keep holding it down for the entirety of each race, you will not hit any of the hurdles.   This trick does *not* work for levels before level 6.  However, if you do this trick for each of the races from level 6 onwards, making it to 8000 feet is piss-easy.  Just hold down X for every race.
